I'm still disappointed Kevin never asked his dad to help give the homeless pigeon lady some food and a room to stay in since she saved his life and all.
There was a Saturday Night Live sketch they did recently that addressed this. It had Melissa Villasenor as Macaulay Culkin, Kristen Wiig as the pigeon lady, and Kyle Mooney and Mikey Day as Harry and Marv.
I imagine he didn't tell his dad about all the near-death experiences while running away from two armed criminals, and even LESS so once his dad saw the room service bill
Harry: Marv, how many fingers am I holding up? Marv: Uh, eight?! Me: To be honest, he probably would've said that even if if didn't get hit in the face by a brick.
I have an older brother and I can confirm it is 100% accurate. Retalliating when your sibling is the one setting you off puts you in equal or greater trouble, ESPECIALLY if you protest. Typically my mum would tell me to just go to her and she'll handle it, but the one time I did that she still punished both of us because I guess it's easier to do that than to actually find out who the guilty party was. Frankly I can totally relate to Kevin wanting to lash out and stand up for himself when Buzz starts giving him shit.
the freakin' skeleton bit 😂😂😂 definitely my favorite part of this film. it's why I hope anyone who's reacted to Home Alone 1 this year also checks out 2 just for that. It used to kinda scare me as a kid but now as an adult, it's just full-on hilarious. Also can we just point out how Harry did a handstand to dunk his head into the toilet instead of just crouching??
Fun fact: The original idea for Home Alone 3 was for it to take place in summer camp. They were planning to bring back Kevin, Harry, Marv, and everyone else. However, I think the actors were pretty much done with these movies after the second one and rejected the idea. I personally think it was a good call, since I don't know how would have they put "summer camp" and "christmas" themes together.
Maybe they wanted to spice it up and move on from the Christmas movie aspect and want people to see the franchise as a variety and not just Christmas movies
Actually, it was confirmed by the execs of the film that Kevin is now a young teen and would run into the bandits again. However, Macaulay quit acting before they could get started on it. And unfortunately, we got a third movie in 1997 that completely ignored the events of the first two movies and focused on a new family in Chicago.
There's this fan theory that Kevin is actually Jigsaw as a kid or something 😂 Cartoonish and unrealistic or not, I love this movie. Watched it every time it was showed on tv on Christmas! And I still laugh my ass off
There is another fan theory that Father Frost (or Santa Claus, as you know him) only _allowed_ those idiots to live all that nightmare to teach them a proper lesson. No one will mess with orphans. No one.
Mr. Duncan disappears from the register after Kevin notices the painting. I thought he was talking to a ghost and an employee was about to think he's crazy for saying Mr. Duncan was here, "Cuz Mr. Duncan has been dead for 20 years, kid."
Yeah, but just as the camera zooms in and you see fear of the realization setting in on Kevin's face, the employee says, "Just kidding kid, he's right over there." Then the camera pans over to Mr. Duncan talking to some other customers elsewhere in the store.
I'm convinced Marv and Harry are immortal. In the 1st movie, Marv gets an iron to the frontal lobe. I'm sorry but you DON'T walk away from that. But enfin, that's as lethal as that movie gets. This movie, however, hits Marv with 4(!!) bricks. 1 Would have been instant death already. Harry would have been frikking incinnerated by the toilet. And that's all even without mentioning the electrodes pinned to the sink, electrocuting Marv. Again, these guys are frikking immortal.
After being arrested for the second time, Marv and Harry got into an argument and blamed each other for their own failures then Marv tells Harry that he’s not his partner anymore because his plans got them imprisoned twice and so Marv permanently abandons Harry and meets another criminal named Vera
One of my favourite aspects of this movie was Kevin's calmness and maturity, contrast that with his child-like and yelling nature at the start of HA1. It really feels like a culmination of both this movie AND the previous movie. Side note: As a kid, this movie mildly disturbed me because I found Kevin way more ruthless and sadistic in this movie than the previous one

I hate Kevin's family so much. His parents are oblivious and negligent, his siblings are jerks(especially Buzz), and his uncle is a douche. None of them deserve Kevin. He'd be better off with the Bird Lady. She was a better parent and friend to him
Funny enough that see saw lever trap is actually accurate. Theorizer worked out the physics and Harry would have actually been sent flying that high. The car wouldn't have caved in like that though...
Literally the only reason why those scenes were Kevin uses the movie to scare people work is because the people that he scares with the films have absolutely no idea what a firearm actually sounds like when it goes off. Even if they did know, that doesn't change the fact that if you had a firearm being discharged within that short of a proximity to you, it would not be that quiet it would be ear definingly loud, your ears would be ringing, for several minutes. You also would likely not be able to tell which direction it was from if you're indoors. People have been known to hasty run into gunfire thinking they're running away. Always stay calm, think critically. Remember the concept of "Run, Hide, Fight" as your order of operations. If you must fight, do absolutely everything you can to stop the attack, no rules, play dirty, lives are on the line. Easiest way to stop the attack is with your own firearm, but not everyone lives in America outside of Cali, New York, Massachusetts, or Maryland, so not all have this option. Can neither confirm nor deny personal experience with these tools, but I can say that thankfully I've never been in a situation where I had to use this knowledge.
I love watching these during Christmas, it's refreshing to see someone react to it for the first time! The second one's always been my favorite. ^_^ This had me laughing, thanks for sharing! :)

What is a surprise is that Canada's CBC channel cut that scene about two years before he became President, yet Trump and his supporters think it was a political thing, when it was probably a time cut (or Canada's broadcast editors can sense evil). Meanwhile, Freeform cut most of the cartoonish violence and the World Trade Center part, but not the Trump cameo.

Kevin - "Two? Make it three. I'm not driving."
Me - I've said the same thing about ice cream.

The room service bill would have been between $1700-1800 in today's money. I looked on the inflation calculator
Happy Holidays to you and Cody!!!!!!
Ok first off they couldn't charge him for that room service bill seeing as they admitted him with a quote Stollen credit card then Comped the family the room when they got there so Kevin's charges where null and void. BUT part of the reason it was so high was he cleaned out half the mini bar when he was making a run for it. That mini bar crap ain't cheap.
Please watch "Uncle Buck" !
RIP John candy.
Tim Curry is a literal HUMAN legend!
19:54 Yup 💯 because unlike in the 1st film, Kevin took all 10 of Marv and Harry's lives this time 😱
