I've been using my AX5400 for almost a year and it's been very reliable and extremely fast. Right now we have 300 mbps and speeds are even exceeding that 300. I live in a 2500 sqft 2 story house and don't even need an extender to get good coverage.I don't have any wifi6 electronics yet but will soon.
@@Upgradetech It's been ok, although speeds haven't been as high yet as my $60 router. I'm still fiddling with settings to hopefully find something that does work, however.
Thanks for your review ! I've always liked Netgear routers, but I'll pass on this one. The idea of needing a smart phone app to perform/use the router is silly, and a security risk, and having to pay for features that should be free stinks. IMHO
You didn’t even watch the video. You aren’t forced to use an app on your phone and you get everything you could possibly be wanting without paying a subscription. If you’re youre genuinely concerned about security then you wouldn’t even be doing stuff over wifi. You’d be hardlined with everything using a PoS.
@@Upgradetech I agree, and I only have 2 wifi 6 devices in my home. But even my ab devices perform better thanks to beam forming. I also removed the frequency filter that's installed on the cable internet line coming into the home, which made a huge difference. I pay for 300Mbps down, but I regularly get 400-500Mbps without the filter
Yes you can build up a firewall with another router but will cut you connectivity down and will be complicated to manage is something get blocked. I would recommend adding another router for home.
i have 1g service with Optimum. speed with Optimum router-modem combo: 250-500gb download and 12-15ish upload brought Nighthawk WiFi 6 router yesterday. Best Buy speed now? 850 avg download + 27 upload. *drops mic* /Bklyn👑

The stability and low ping are what I ordered this for. Hopefully it's here soon and I can test it myself!
How has it been working for you?

Can you use Wi-Fi or does it have to be ethernet
It has both and so far it's been the best router I have purchased

Can this be linked to another router with more user friendly parental controls like you mentioned?

@@Upgradetech That's what I was thinking. Keep my Netgear then add maybe an ASUS AC1900 for easier/lasting security without a subscription..
