Maserati MC12 GT1 Centenario - Accelerations, Fly Bys & V12 Sound!

- The MC12 Goodwood Cent 100 is a special one-off built by Maserati in 2014 to celebrate their centenary at the Goodwood Festival of Speed and using a spare chassis that was still in the factory (around 95% of the parts are "new"). Obviously the special paintjob is what makes the car unique which is decorated by artistic paintings of Maserati’s motorsport glories: Stirling Moss in a 250F, the MC12 FIA GT cars and even an outline of the Goodwood hillclimb route feature. It also has its distinctive silver-and-black Festival of Speed race number painted on, rather than the usual adhesive decal.

i can get behind the acceleration and instant torque electric cars can provide, but there is still no replacing the pure sound of combustion engines. especially V10's and V12's. nothing better.

Thanks a lot! Basically both the same cars. In 2014 this was built using a spare MC12 chassis but 95% of the components were freshly built. Since in 2012 GT1 championship was cancelled I think there was no intention to perfectly had the same specs of the GT1-class, so I think that's why the rear wing is bigger (taken from a Corsa verision) than a MC12 GT1 we're used to

Yes. This car was street legal.
There is a video about a guy which drives this on Nurburgring. His car is tuned and afair this is one of the loudest cars on ring.
Both the Corsa and the GT1 are track-only cars. But yes, someone was able to put a plate on a few MC12 Corsa's. The Corsa was derived from the MC12 GT1 (like the one in this video) and it's just like the FXX for Ferrari, a pure track toy for private owners but not eligible in any competition in those years. There are a few differences between the GT1 and Corsa but in my opinion the most noticeable one from the outside is the transmissions: the GT1 have a racing sequential gearbox, so the shifts are fast and sharp while the Corsa has a semi-automatic electronically controlled gearbox coming from the street version, so shifting sounds a lot slower and makes a sort of "fart" on upshifts
