Please react to just anything; everything from her is simply first-rate. If you want to see a great stage presence and personality, watch her Golden Buzzer-winning performance of Tomorrow. If you want a mix of delicate, ethereal beauty and power, try Over the Rainbow.
I listen to her album several times a day and I find myself singing her songs to myself too. When I put my geese and ducks and chickens away in the evening I play her music on my phone. They enjoy it too. 😊😂 My favorite song of hers at the moment is She Used to be Mine.
Nice reaction. Other comments have mentioned her BGT journey, but you were correct about her training. She has been in 2 plays before in mostly small roles, and sang on Royal Caribbean cruise ships, so she has some experience. This was basically her last gasp to get her name out there. Smart decision by her.
As Sydnie stands behind the mike in readiness for her performance of My Way, Frank Sinatra owns this song. Less than three mesmerising minutes later, ownership has passed, without question or pause, to the remarkable Sydnie. Sydnie, I believe, originated this vocal arrangement, in collaboration with her BGT-assigned vocal coach. I would now urge you, my friend, to react to and analyse Sydnie’s other two BGT performances - Tomorrow (audition) and Over the Rainbow (grand final) - both of which are simply stunning.
Not too fast Kemohsahbee chief of the Apaches. Sinatra when he first sang "My Way" was in his mid 50s and by then a larger than life personality who has lived most of his life doing things his way. He didn't just sing the song he lived every word of it. Now Sydnie in her late 20s despite all the bombast and her powerful belted high notes as well as her impeccable artistry does not quite have the larger than life personality or the life experience to take ownership of the song from Ol' Blue Eyes. Plus bear in mind the lyricist of the song, Paul Anka, wrote the lyrics with every word in his mind written for the Chairman of the Board and nobody else. In 2024 Sinatra's version may not be the best version but he still owns this song until The Super King (that would be me....the King of Life) takes the baton of this song at a time of His own choosing for the same reasons why Sinatra owns the song but with a life experience turbo charged on steroids giving existnetial meaning to the line in the song "Much more much more than this I did it my way" a line delivered on a generous overdose of Prozac.
No shade to Frank, but just because he was 51 and she's 28 doesn't mean she hasn't had significant life experience. She was training for a life in singing in high school...and maintained that practice over the years (which you can hear here). Also she's tried over and over and over to get acting/singing jobs (she's had a few decent ones but nothing earth shattering and was not able to make a career out of it). She was about to give up her dream and decided to do BGT as a last ditch effort. So she did do it her way and it was her arrangement. And now she's singing in the States and the UK and getting rave reviews. I don't know why someone had to be "better " or that it was worth minimizing her talent and this performance. Frank Sinatra was ok. He was the voice of a generation. And it's been said that he was affiliated with the mafia, so there's that. That doesn't take away from Sydnie's talent. She sang the hell out of this song.

I am British. Sydnie's audition was the best one I have ever seen on any such shows (and I have seen a lot). Watch the video from the moment she said hello to the judges. In a few minutes she had the audience and the judges all rooting for her, and then she started singing. The rest is history. She sang "Tomorrow".
