To Everyone who has suggested that Sydneys version of "My Way", is better than Frank Sinatras!! I would just like to say that you are all spot on!❤ Best version I've ever heard ❤❤
When she sings My Way, she just completely peppers you with vibrato. It’s just relentless beautiful overwhelming vibrato hitting you one after the other. Probably the best performance I’ve ever heard. She killed it
She doesn’t just sing the songs. She feels it deep in her soul. Of all the auditions I’ve watched on any show, she is my all time favorite! She is absolutely amazing!
I know nothing about vocal technique or music foundation but I know what I like, and the fact that you, the professional, react the same as i react to Sydnie means to my mind that we are all touched by the incredible talent she possesses. As an old (71) blues guitar and rock/punk fan most of my life, the discovery of this woman has turned me into a teenage fanboy. I can't believe what I hear/see when watching these recordings and that is why I have bought a ticket to see her live in Canterbury next Feb. Can't wait to be "blown away" for real. Peace and love.🥰🤩
@@DennisEoriatti We're all going crazy Dennis, in the best possible way!! I think it's allowed at our time of life. This week I got the new Beth Hart album, and great though it is, I find I'm still giving Syd's album more playtime. Have you heard "She used to be mine" off her album? Delicious, never thought I'd like a musical theatre song as much as I love this. Peace and love. 🥰
Agreed about this version of My Way vs. Sinatra. I don’t really care for any of these songs on their own, as they are all so completely covered. But she made them uniquely her own. And amazingly so. And for My Way, hers is the best I have ever heard, period. Hers is the new standard in my book. Same for the others I think. But especially that one.
I thought her version of 'Tomorrow ' was extraordinary. I must have listened a hundred times now. Makes me cry every time. But you're right, Sydnie's 'My Way ' is the greatest interpretation of that song ever. Love from the Land of Song. Best wishes from an old Welsh bloke x
Sydnie's first single "Starlight Express" is now out as a music video on TH-cam. Its from Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical by the same name, which is now showing in the West End. Webber gave Sydnie his permission for her to write her own arrangement for the song & record it. Interested to hear your thoughts about it.
As a sequence, notice the build from the old classic reimagined as moving from optimism to defeat, noting that Sydnie was making a "last ditch" effort to have a singing career. The semi-final "My Way" was reimagined as a defiance of the musical theater, where she revealed the range and power of her voice, and the finale's "Over the Rainbow" where she smiled throughout was her triumph of success. I have never seen or heard a more brilliant sequencing of performances on any talent show. In spite of her theatre training, she is destined for the concert stage, where the full range of her voice, personality, and showmanship will serve her best.
I rarely listen to the spoken reviews. What's more important (to me) is your facial expressions, but also your involuntary movements, (twitches, nostril flares, eyes, etc.). These are the real reactions and are a joy to watch. I also LOVE LOVE LOVE the way you pronounce 'Annie". It is so adorable. Please keep up the good work! As a suggestion, please watch this review with the sound off. That's the real human reaction.
By end of this, audition video one sees half her family was there. In the end, at the final, they were of course all there. Yes, thank you for this review!Sydnie gave her personal interpretation which shone through and remade these classics into her own: she gave them her shape of English art.
Voce di una tecnica pazzesca, scoperta solo grazie al BGT del 2024, possibile che gli addetti ai lavori non se ne sono accorti prima, di questo talento unico e meraviglioso?
I’m curious if you think Sydnie’s talents are better suited for the record industry or for Broadway/West End? I personally think that if she has great songs/arrangements - she would be equally successful at either one. It seems like the key to most talented singers who achieve commercial success is securing great materials and musicians to work with. What are your thoughts?
In her final performance. Her arrangement was honoring all 3 renditions. When she started it was the first rendition. She used the second rendition done by the Hawaiian singer and the last part was by the theatrical version done by Disney.
Loving your reactions and analysis! I subbed when you first reacted to Sydnie. NOW it's time that we get you enough subs and "coffees" to get you a good mic! I want to hear what you're saying! 😉 Keep the great reactions coming. ✌🏼& ❤️
Love this reaction and analysis. Thank you! It seems to me that the playback on your videos here is slower than the original, and perhaps slightly detuned? Can you comment on this? I notice only because I have watched her performances a few hundred times each now. 😅😂😊
One thing your student mentioned about the mic. If you notice most young singers today are TAUGHT to put their lips right up against the mic. This MUFFLES the sound. It’s not clear. She does not do that and SoHyang is a perfectionist and her mic is always 2-3” away from her mouth at all times. And she is clear ALWAYS. The teachers need to stop telling them to hold the mic up close. I am not saying you are, but your student may have a point about the mic sounding different. I see it and hear it. Take you have and make a soft like you are holding a mic. Sing or talk and love your hand closer and closer to your mouth. Once you are almost to your mouth and especially at your lips, it’s muffled. Pull it away a couple of inches and the sound is CLEAR. All good singer learn this later. Let’s teach them younger on how not hold a mic. Too many are doing it all wrong.
In my opinion, they are very close with a slight technical advantage in mobility for Sam. Sam has also more structure in her voice but... the variety, projection and power of Sydnie is unbelievable. Her voice is much bigger. As I said, this is only my opinion, what I hear.

I do think she is better suited for the world stage. Too big for West End or Broadway. Just because I want to see her in a city near me, Often!
She seems to have a preference for Broadway, although personally, I don’t think she should be limited. She could go far in her own solo career.
Unusually I think she fits every package. And has the talent to be great at all she wishes to do.

FYI she was sick for her last performance, which is most likely why that note started out flat.
