Zee was a metatroll, pure and simple. Look at everything about Zee and what they drew/wrote. Every bit of it was dripping with sarcasm, hypocritical call outs, and, in general, mocking the people that I ironically behave like this. Zee's bio is laden with all the diversity shields -- lgbtq+, Muslim, nonbinary, they/them pronouns, etc. -- because it was taboo to speak even slightly critical of someone of any of these "marginalized" groups back then (and still kinda now). The targets of fixing were all converted in the same manner -- grossly obese, some body hair, and race bent black and covered. Sure, it's a mockery of SJWs/Cancel Pjgs, but looking at it, it also feels like there's an underlying attempt to expose online hypocrisy supporting body positivity, BLM, and race bending, among others. They also railed on topics like under aged characters in the same hyperbolic, over-the-top way online weirdos do. Even the "hack" is fake, a sign the artist behind was going to wrap up the Zee account.
All in all, 10/10 trolling. Would not.do again.

@@DeltaRaptoranI feel that. When I was younger and used to play PonyTown, I met another DA artist on there and I thought we were really hitting it off chatting about our art. He asked to see mine and said "wow, from the way you were talking, you made it sound like your art was good." And it just felt like a spit in the face. Like yeah, he was objectively better at drawing than me. But why use that to tear me down?! Shouldn't we hype up and encourage our fellow artists who are trying to learn and grow? I didn't draw for a while after that because he made me feel like my art wasn't worth shit and I would never be on his level. Would he have liked it if someone said something like that when he was still beginning? Art should be fun, not something to have an ego over. Art should bond us, not be a race or "your art isn't good enough so you can't sit with us" type energy. I just wanted to make a fun art friend. Its been years and that still smarts even though I'm quite good at drawing now. Just this year I reached the milestone of 'loves drawing hands. And not cartoony hands, actually realistically-proportioned hands'. I never thought I'd ever like drawing them because they can be so complicated, but suddenly I just started finding them fun to pose and figure out. Maybe because I'm confident enough in the rest of the body proportionally. Sometimes I still think of him and what he would find flaws in now when viewing my art. I don't post it anymore because I am sensitive about what people will say now, even if I think I draw well. I don't need the self esteem blow.

Exactly. Art is purely subjective (even horrendous anatomy can be boiled down to “it’s a style”) and finding a piece of art ugly is… Totally normal. Loving it, hating it, totally normal since art is supposed to make us feel things. But going out of your way to draw a piece the way you think it SHOULD be? Hell nah. Draw the same piece, sure, but as a fanart, CREDIT THE ORIGINAL ARTIST and do NOT tell them “this is what you should’ve done, teehee”. Not to “fix” their art. The art community has way more pressing problems right now, like AI.

They think you're a criminal if you unapologetically like evil characters or like disturbing/abusive ships, not understanding that what you like in fiction isn't necessarily what you want IRL. They go crazy if you draw characters with like, a 2 year age gap. Or if a character was mean to another once. It's sad honestly.

9:55 this is similar to something I’ve wondered about. When someone is doing art critiques for others (even when it’s requested) there’ll be things said like “your eyes are too far apart” or “the nose is too low and lopsided”
Which can be valid to an extent, but on the other hand, some people just look like that! Learning to draw “perfect proportions” can make for unrealistic expectations because most people don’t have perfect proportions.
Once I was drawing a friend, and I kept getting so frustrated because one of her eyes looked just a bit off, like it was too high. But as I studied my reference, that’s just where her eye was on her face!
I never noticed it before even though I see her regularly, but when you’re studying someone’s face intently, it’s easier to see. And especially when you’re drawing them, it can catch you off guard
