Several weeks ago somebody had footage from here but not of the yard itself for the most part. I've stopped by here several times and it was always super busy now it just looks like a storage facility. It's hard to make a comeback when things are this devastated. Thanks for the coverage W&LE always looks good no matter the location
Hollywood quality drone work (as usual) - bravo! It's great that an interesting regional like the Wheeling and Lake Erie hasn't yet been assimilated by the Borg at G&W.
W&LE is a private company. Very hard to purchase a private company. Now... if they ever go public. But since W&LE has trackage/rights from Chicago to Baltimore - they could very well morph into a Class 1. I would wager that is their end game.
@@BlackMan614 But that counters your earlier point. The more players in the mix, the greater the possibility that someone creates pressure to cash out. But in any event I hope it never happens.
@@SantaFeAllTheWay Sheesh... I don't know the specifics of W&LE but in GENERAL... it is harder (much harder) to gain control of a private company than a public one. OK??
In most instances the W&LE is a fast moving regional. Most of their track is 40mph, they can do 50 (or 60?) on CSX between New London and Willard Ohio.

Thank you! If those autoracks weren't in storage the yard would be even more bare!
Good graciousness....what a yard. Amazing drone footage there.
Scott. Nice job. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Have a great Sunday!!! ✌✌
You too!!

@@BlackMan614 It's not especially hard if the company's owners decide they want to cash out.
@@SantaFeAllTheWay It's more complicated. This is not some small operation. And the "owners" is spread among banks, creditors and VC.

I worked that job to Willard every week so this is great to see
I believe that is the maximum speed that a WLE train ever moves at! Bring a book if you get stopped at a crossing. Nice drone work!

Great Video Scott. WILLARD is not like it once was 20 years ago
I didn't see it 20 years ago but 10 years ago that engine terminal was packed. Too bad the humps weren't publicly visible.
