Hi! I just wanted to encourage you to consider homeschooling even if your children have been in public school, giving them the opportunity to direct their learning and take ownership of it and have one on one time with you for their late middle school and throughout their high school years would still be a wonderful gift.
I think Sheri’s videos are fantastic for giving a real insight into what life looks and feels like homeschooling - that can take the fear factor away for would be homeschoolers. It really is never too late to start - in fact, many of the drivers for families to home educate are particularly present in the high school years. I’d say to surround yourself by the stories of as many homeschooling families as possible. It’s a wonderful adventure!
When y'all do read aloud in the afternoon, are you reading AO books ("school books") or a book for fun? Are AO books part of their independent work? I started Kelly's course last night!
Oh so glad to hear! I hope it helps bring some peace to your family life and confidence to you as a homeschool mom! We mostly read books for fun, but sometimes they are AO books. If I have AO books that I want to get to, I may do it at this time, but our read aloud time is mostly for pleasure. Challenging books are more for the morning part of our schedule. If I don't look forward to reading it, I pick something more fun.
Oh thank you so much for answering my question and for doing this beautiful video! Such a blessing. Have a great week!
You're welcome! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
I love your balanced perspective ❤
Thank you!
Could you please share what typing program y’all use?
Sure! It's Sense Lang and it's free! We do lessons 1-16, slowly 10 minutes a day until mastery.

I was thinking about this yesterday!!! I'll come back to watch this❤❤❤
I love this. My heart has been interested in homeschool, but my kids are 12 and 13 and they have been in public school their whole life.

If you want to homeschool your kids, you should try it. You'll never regret the extra time you get with them.

@@SeattonEducation Thank you! I agree, it's one of the best decisions we ever made for our family!
You’re doing it so wonderfully. I’m curious when the kids are taking courses at co-op who teaches the higher level classes.?
