I don't play this game, so cpuld someone explain why people use shadow moves on fighters after their first health bar is depleted, but before the next round starts?
For Spinal: shadow skull blocks instinct gain for the opponent
For Cinder: shadow moves help get a stronger burn ender, so the flames on the arms/legs last through the round transitions
I think that's the only cases I've seen in this video, usually you don't want to burn shadowmeter in between rounds, it's pretty character specific tbh

They kinda are. New character just got added I think and it has the best netcode still.

You talking about the long ass ultra combos? These guys absolutely CAN do long and flashy ultra combos, but it's a respect and time thing. Doing a huge ultra is just a flex, but all of these guys are playing at the absolute PEAK of KI, so flexing would be stupid and a waste of time.

To get an ultimate you need to have green health bar. And tournament players don't do that they want to go straight to the next match instead of looking at a cool animation.
I think no mercies were scrapped due to time, budget, or redundancy with the character and stage ultras
