Withdrawal & Healing: The "Impossible" is Possible

  • For years I fantasized about walking away from Paxil and Xanax and living a healthier life without the pills. But that seemed impossible. Then, after I quit the pills, withdrawal hit me and healing seemed impossible. But healing and better health did happen for me, and they will for you, too. Here are a few thoughts to get you through the next steps in your recovery process. Remember, nothing is impossible.

    Michael, I know your channel might not be as big as others, but the positive impact that your videos make on your audience outweigh any other content creator that has millions of views, each individual that is subscribed to you has received something that not a lot of people like us could’ve gotten , thank you. People like you push humanity further to its greatness

      Thank you so much for those words, Daniel. I am aware that there is a lot of content out there regarding this topic, content that frankly is not that useful, not that educated, or that is downright harmful. My content is made with compassion, experience, and a mission to help others find healing; it isn't made thoughtlessly, and I'm so glad to be able to help all of you out there who are still going through this strange process. Things do get better with time and the correct focus, so take comfort in that fact! Take care and keep checking out the videos!

    It’s amazing that this video popped up right after I just had my psychiatrist appointment and talked about tapering off. God and the universe are trying to tell me something. Our stories/meds sound pretty similar and I am happy to know I am not alone. I will be taking my tapper process super slow which is fine with me but I know well being is in store for me. I believe that the human body can restore itself with all of these natural and spiritual aspects you speak of. I’m excited for my journey however I will take it one day at a time as I know it may be rough. I have gone though this process before so I remember the rough times but I know these meds are not for me. Thank you for sharing this video!

    3 months off ssri fluoxitine. I think withdrawl is teasing me. There are days where I genuinely feel amazing and then I try to sleep and my body and mind just fall apart. I come here to remind myself it's just withdrawl since nothing natural has ever felt like this. God bless you all.know there is so much love for everyone here.

      The Lovely Grind hi my name is Marsha, I started having really bad anxiety and panic attacks, over the past month and a half I’ve been on 5 different anti depressants also prescribe Ativan 3 times a day, I’ve made the choice to stop the anti depressants trying 5 different ones over the past month in a half has me feeling completely out of it, the Ativan I don’t take 3 times a day that would be way to much for me! Taking 1 Ativan I have a hard time with let alone 3!!! I don’t want to get addicted to Ativan, my cardiologist prescribe me a beta blocker called propranolol for when my heart palpitations or when I feel my heart racing... I just don’t want to take all theses medications, with God’s help I haven’t experienced the panic attacks as bad as I was! Please give me your advise.

Its been 4 years and Im back in hell. Can get off and go back to what I went threw Id rather die but I want off the pills.. I have a 10 year old daughter to take care of and can hardly function.. I know I may die from this like when I tried to stop once so Im hanging in there until shes older to attempt to withdraw again..

    Thanks for the positive videos. Is the healing process determined on how long a person has been on benzos??

    • @TheLovelyGrind
      @TheLovelyGrind  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Glad you found them, Ty. Ironically, the connection between length of use and healing doesn't seem to be set in stone. There are some people who only take the medications for a short time but suffer for a prolonged period (and vice-versa, apparently). Everything seems to be individual as far as timeline is concerned, but I believe that there are a few lifestyle and mindset strategies that can encourage healing and speed it up. Take care and stay connected here.

      Yes, still mildly in some instances, but I might have had it a bit before withdrawal even began to be honest. I try to look at it this way, if 95 out of 100 symptoms disappear, and the other 5 get 70 plus percent better, life is pretty good. (BTW, not hard numbers there, just making a point). Talk soon.

    Why is everybody talking about AD's and Benzos, but nobody talks about Antipsychotics? I'm going through AP hell withdrawal. And it's the same despair :( It's even worse because you hardly find information about it, like you do with Benzo and AD withdrawal. I feel stupid and numb and can't sleep correctly. It's hell every day! :'(

    • @TheLovelyGrind
      @TheLovelyGrind  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yeshuah, I believe there will be healing in your scenario, too. I would think that there is a ton of overlap between your situation and any situation involving AD or benzo meds, its just that a greater percentage of the population is on those, so that's where the conversation is right now. Keep trying to pursue balanced, healthy living (spiritual, mental, physical), and you will keep finding some improvement as time goes on. And remember to take in positive information and try to stay away from any negative stuff the internet has to offer. Take care.

      @@TheLovelyGrind Thank you so much for the encouragement. Yes, there are a lot of horror stories out there, like people who never healed and stayed permanently disabled. I'm so scared that this will happen to me :( I keep looking benzo videos and connecting with the benzo community, because I think it's just about knowing the fact that the brain is capable to return to homeostasis. I was actually on benzos too. I was polydrugged for 6 weeks. But still experiencing symptoms. I don't know if I can consider myself "lucky" that I didn't take it for a long time. Still you never know how long it's gonna take. The worst symptoms are that I can't think, I'm totally blanked out/spaced out and the numb feeling and feeling like I'm not in my body. :( It's been 5 months and I haven't seen improvements so far, I know that it's not a long time for this kind of W/D but it still feels like forever and I feel like I'm in a straight jacket 24/7 totally disabled. Is your mind and your energy flowing again? Can you FEEL it?

    • @TheLovelyGrind
      @TheLovelyGrind  6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yes, I had both of those. At one point the fatigue was so bad that it made me tired to sit in a chair (I will never forget that). I didn't run or lift weights for a couple of years, but I pretty much always tried walking at least a few times a week for stress relief (and at that time, for weight loss). The body and mind love exercise, even if it is something simple for a while.

    • @TheLovelyGrind
      @TheLovelyGrind  6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      During withdrawals, changes did begin to happen. The first thing that happened was a back-to-basics approach. Common sense stuff that gets forgotten as we get busy (i.e., eating breakfast, eating every few hours throughout the day, and not relying on restaurants for most every dinner). I began cooking for myself a lot more. I try to get enough protein and eat a lot of fruit (but I also eat plenty of pizza and some fries and also desert every night, so things are still enjoyable). The body needs to be well fed with the building block it needs for healthy function. So basic, but adult forget.
