I'm absolutely in love with these guys. The quality, variety and versatility of their bits it's just something out of this world. their models are crisp, absurdly easy to assemble and the range won't stop growing, which is a terrible thing for my finances. They deserve all the support we can provide.
I ordered some Anvil Industry bits to convert some phobos marines into a crew for Space Station Zero, to make them a little more Halo/near-future and less 40k. Crispy clean and sharp as heck casting. Honestly I've tried Spellcrow, Kromlech and now Anvil and I can't understand Forgeworld's quality control sometimes. Across a whole order of heads, torsos and legs, only found one bubble in a hard to find place under a foot.
Been following you for 3 years and really enjoy your videos. I don't really play mini games over the last 2 years, I have just enjoyed rebuilding my life and hope to return to this hobby
Anvil Industries has amazing customer service, too. I once had purchased a large order of head sprues and one of the sprues was missing two of the exact heads I was wanting use. I contacted customer support and they refunded my order at the cost of the missing parts (which was only about $2). It was a small thing, but went a long way in ensuring a life-long customer.
Agreed. I have ordered resin bits from Anvil Industries and used their digital files to print miniatures on my 3d printer. Both options I can highly recommend. Thanks for the video Adam.
I have actually seen them at UK-based conventions a while back when they were looking into putting out there own game. I've had a very positive experience of their stuff. The cultists were great for making my Yellow-Sign Militia. Their habit of giving away bags of miscasts in the sales has helped inspire a few fun miniatures. I tried to make my players' Only War characters out of the leftover bits one xmas.
I do enjoy me some Anvil Industry, I would order more from them if UK was still in EU, but they do some good stuff, so sometimes I still need to order from them. I have my Zona Alfa miniatures from them, they do fantastic post apocalypse and minis! Now I feel tempted to get more things ♥
Glad to see you doing this. I absolutely love Anvil, been buying from them for years and been subbed to their Patreon for almost as long. Amazing quality, great prices and brilliant customer support.
Absolutely love Anvil Industries, side note they keep all their slightly lower quality pours (fail their quality standards for sale but are otherwise pretty decent, think excess flashing/slight damage/partly used sprues/etc alongside things like slight damage) and sell them in a big mixed bag usually around xmas time for a fairly cheap price. Also the 'definitely not purity seals' they sell are incredibly detailed for the size they are.
One big thing with Anvil Industries is that they DO make Heavy Weapons teams. There are a lot of 3rd party manufacturers out there, and a lot of places that make cool looking models. However, a lot of these lines of models just do your standard infantry-and-command models. If you want a mortar team, or a laser cannon team, often you are out of luck. Anvil's squad builder lets you get all sorts of heavy weapons teams that will match all the rest of your models.
Love these people! Recently got into Silver Bayonet and a single Perry Minature's French Elite Infantry box plus a load of the "bits" from Anvil Industries is letting me put together a unique 8 man French unit of monster hunters and 7 revenants (read: zombie/undead 18th century French) for less than 40 quid total which is absolutely nuts considering there's enough leftover plastic there for 25 more models!
Whenever you need something specific for a kitbash or basing material, it's always good to check Anvil Industry. They often have exactly the thing you need. Or the thing you didn't know you needed until you saw it in their catalogue. A lot of plastic kits, like from Wargames Atlantic, may have everything you need for a normal squad, but not what you need to turn one of them into a leader. Anvil Industry have all manner of capes, cool weapons, or the like to make them into someone important.
About 2 years ago I bought myself a set "raw" dice from my favorite local game store. Due to needing to ink then polish them I ended up diving into the TH-cam rabbit hole about dice and those two topics... but the funny thing is while learning about how to do that most of those channels also showed how they make their own custom resin dice. It simply made me wonder how and why these people were able to make resin dice without any bubbles in the resin about 99.9% of the time simply by using vacuum pots and yet certain larger companies (::cough:: GW :: cough::) never seemed to learn this basic method of removing air bubbles from their resin/casting process. Nice to see the live for the smaller independent companies who care about the quality of their products and the using the proper processes of casting/manufacturing for the products they do create. Kind of makes you wonder why stuff from FW seems to be so highly priced with such poor quality control.
Been a regular customer for anvil for a while. Their models are awesome, and their 3d print stls are the best. I especially like that they have "totally not space marines, sisters of battle, and imperial guard" but they are still awesome and interesting by themselves. I want a lot of their models just to put together and paint to make scenes.
"Look at the Modularity !" Yeah Man, Anvil stuff is fantastic. I've done a couple orders last year and also purchased STLs and the quality of everything they do is so good. Can't recommend enough.
I am converted to resin thanks to Anvil Industries. Their resin is clean and has a bit of flexibility to it. I have some heavy weapons and shoulder pads to aid converting/enhancing some Wargames Atlantic Cannon Fodder ☺ Also now exploring the arms range for more conversions and also utilising leftover bodies or old GW Space Marine bodies with no original plastic arms to use with them. A.I. do make some excellent kit and they often include extra hands or other bits n bobs on their sprues. Every order I've made (3 or 4 so far) has been a source of excitement about what else can be done with their stuff! Thoroughly recommend these guys 👍☺
My favorite is Archie’s Forge on Etsy. He makes some of the most high quality and detailed parts to supplement my miniatures and spruce them up to a whole new level. They’re all resin bits, but once painted the model looks seamless.
That Ursula Creed model really is ridiculously expensive. £27.50 to have Mrs Trunchbull from Matilda leading my army? no thanks. Great video as always.
I'm a huge fan. I have bought hundred of dollars of their stuff over the years. Have another order in my cart for 100 bucks. I also was a backer of the daughters of the burning rose Kickstarter.
Just echoing the sentiments in the comments: Their STL's (and associated patreon) are excellent! If you have Blender, you can even take parts off of individual components and kitbash them onto others. Borrowing a sigil from one guy's helmet to put on another's torso, for example. I don't think anybody else out there is using the strengths of the STL format as much as they do.
I do love using Anvil and Victoria mini parts just to add visual interest to my guard. The sisters alternatives are excellent and the penitent engine they make is unreal. Given GW needs to maintain their 30% profit margin at all times, this sort of alternative makes more sense than ever.
I fully agree, their (sadly oop) power armours were some of the best on the market, no fancy skulls or similar, realistic brutes as described in the best military sci-fi novels.
There’s lots of different types of resin used for minis. Some are hard and brittle, some soft and bendy, then there’s the ”plastic resin” used by some manufacturers… You never really know what you’re getting with resin until you try a line of models.
Anvil is amazing! I have both resin models and Digital forge stuff. Great fit and finish. They all work very well together with all the pieces. Great pick Atom!
Way back in around 2013 I ordered about 100 of those trench fighters for like $200 intending to use them as Death Korps... maybe one day I'll finally paint them
I love this buisness model Anvil uses.... Them, and Mad Robot Miniatures, Reptillian Overlords, and so many others. Lightyears ahead of the 'big guys' in the market, and likely to inherit all of my disposable income dedicated to miniatures! Selling resin, and digital STL files is the way to go for miniature makers these days, especially if there are shipping issues (as we saw in 2020....). I just got into resin SLA printing, but I still plan on buying resin from these small shops as well. After all, why buy an STL for a one off character model?! Troops and gear is another matter, but given the reasonble price point for the resin... It'll save machine cycle time, wear and tear, etc.
I love the modularity and have been impressed with the quality. I do wish the weapons were less oversized, I just can't bring myself to order modern stuff because the guns are huge.
With GW and Forge World raising their already exorbitant prices while removing necessary models from production, I really need to start looking through Anvil’s catalog again. I don’t have any experience with them (yet), but I have ordered from Zinge Industries and was really impressed with the quality of their products. I bought Breacher shields for my 30K Raven Guard Legion from them, because I already had a bunch of MKIII Marines from the Burning Of Prospero boxed game and the shields were the only part I needed to make my own. When I was financially able to order the actual FW Breacher kit, I broke down a couple of the ones that I had made, and used the shields for some HQ/ Special Characters, and they look great. Anvil is my next stop though, since I just got a 3D printer and they sell the STLs as well as kits. I just have to learn the damned thing, because I’m hopeless when it comes to computers- an old friend once called me a “Neo-Luddite Rube” because of it. (We are no longer friends 🤷🏻♂️) Thanks for the video, I really like the “This is why I like it” format. 👍🏻
The main thing keeping me away from resin is that I'm unsure if they would survive me or not. :D One of these days I'll take the plunge. And probably shatter the mini.
Poured resin is not nearly as brittle as 3D printed resin. I’ve never had a piece of poured resin snap, from Anvil or other companies. Thanks for watching!
@@TerrierHalo Yep, normal resin is fine. Finecast models are a kind of resin foam with lots of tiny (or not so tiny) bubbles, making them brittle as you say. That might be where you've had a bad experience.
I've been supporting anvil for a few months now on their patreon, I fell in love with their figures and being built for kitbashing and posing rather than the monopose style a lot of (very talented! but not my mini-building taste) sculptors tend to go for. And as you said, they don't come off as derivative, they do their own creative takes on things!
wargames Atlantic, Viktoria miniatures, and anvil industries are I think are my top 3 preferred sources of minis when looking for a mini agnostic game.
In my experience 10 out of 10 people who say "I don't like resin minis" have never worked with minis from other manufacturers than GW/FW. And that's a shame.
This is the most accurate wacky inflatable flailing arm tube man impression I've ever seen! Just kidding. Great company, great video. Keep em coming Unc.
This is very helpful and timely. I'm just starting to build a Space Station Zer0 crew, and was hoping you'd have suggestions for minis somewhere on your channel.
While I hate resin mini's due to me being unbelievably clumsy and dropping them all the time I gotta say all the resin stuff I've gotten from mantic games has been very well done. None of the usual problems ( pitting, warping etc etc) and reasonably priced. Also, Imagine saying "Here's just a tiny little bag of... Hands" in any other context lol.
Great Video as always, and I have been more and more impressed with Anvils digital Patreon, they are stretching their wings and starting to do loyalty bonus STLs, pretty sweet ones at that. ( who doesn't love big stompy robots?) Oh ! Next game title should be that Atom. I know Vince is a huge fan of huge stompy things. And Anvil did a pretty stompy one this last reward.
Anvil is an Outstanding company. I have 1 IG army 100% their bits, a modern skirmish force and kit bashing other IG army. QC is great and customer service as well...buy their stuff already!!
7:10 "action poses"...i look at a box of miniatures product page and usually make a decision on whether im going to buy it based off of how many models are posed in some logical way, walking, weapon ready, aiming etc...however when running, standing on one leg, aggressively swinging takes up most of the box I keep looking or I kitbash to get the units I want without the "action" pose...assault intercessors for example, four out of ten are wildly power swinging while running...jakhals almost 100% power swing poses...melee weaponry combatants should look more calculating than a firearm toting unit...pugilist stances not swan dives...building out a dystopian raider army and I like the options I am now aware of.
Hey Atom! Great video! I would love it if you did a vid on how to get your mini on a base after it’s been painted. Whenever I try to glue them together, I end up melting off paint and it looks bad 😢
Ive a ton of Anvil STL files. Unfortunately Ive printed about ZERO. Not because I dont like them but because Ive a Digital crack problem ... hell Ive just backed another 2 KS this month 🤦♂️
I really love the sculpted sprues. What a novel way of reducing waste.
Just used a pair on my imperial guard bases and they look great
Victoria miniatures are also some of my favorites along side Anvil. She makes the best Desert Guard models available.

Heck yea, love this company. I have a massive Astra militarum army that I've blended a huge amount of Anvil industries bits into. Highly recommend.
same here, my not-Valhallans are 90% Anvil figs

Anvil Industry was my first exposure to non GW minis and i found them to be very high quality and very fun to build and paint
Can I use these as CSM cultists? Will they be the same size as the GW box sets? Ty
Big upvote on Anvil Industry heads. Really well sculpted and cast in my experience. I have personally never had a bad one.

Very cool! Wild West Exodus does resin minis and they are AWESOME. Great video.
The sculpted sprues is a really nice idea.
Anvils "Afterlife" game and Minis were cool, really cool scifi/cyberpunk stuff
My whole guard army and half of my sister's of battle are from them. They're great!
Great recommendation. There goes my Friday afternoon playing with the squad builder.

I knew they did warhammer head swaps etc, but only just found out they do sort of 28mm stuff. Will have to give them a look
So I checked this out and it looks like they still only do 'heroic' 28/32
Pig Iron does 28mm but they're metal
With you 100% Uncle, excellent products. Anvil do attend conventions in the UK and very friendly they are too.
