You’re not doing the carnivore diet correctly. You can eat all you want on carnivore. Eat to satiety and you’ll start eating 2 meals a day in a shorter eating window and the fat will start disappearing. Fuck calorie counting.

The point of the carnivore diet is that you don't count calories. 5 days isn't enough time for your body to switch from burning carbs to ketone can take up to two weeks. Then another two to three weeks to lose the craving for carbs. You should eat until you are satisfied, then not eat again until you are hungry. After a while when your body begins burning ketone and living on protein your amount you eat will decline to where you be amazed at how little food it takes you daily to live on.

Keep going brother, last year when my ex decided to leave me and after shoulder surgery the year before I was at my heaviest at 396 pounds. I spent last summer working on myself and got myself down to about 330 pounds. Took a break from the fitness over the god awful Northwest PA winter and surprisingly maintained where I was at. Right now I am at 322 and now that the weather is getting better planning on working on the next goal of getting below 300 before my B-day in the middle of May and the one year anniversary (Memorial Day) when my 24 year marriage ended. End goal is to get back to my boot camp weight by the end of the summer, 200 pounds. I'll keep up with yours and Jess's journey... we'll get through this whether we like it or not... LOL Stay weird!!!

Abso-freakin-lutely! I've been on a weight rollercoaster my whole life. I've gotta admit, the keto works the best for me so far. The problem is that after 2 years of keto, on and off.... yes I went from 299lbs to 220lbs, but... the last year I've gained back to 250lbs..... I got burnt out. You've rekindled the desire to lose the weight again. Thank you.

Josh, one thing you should definitely do is GIVE UP BEER till you hit your target weight. Beer is basically LIQUID DONUTS, nothing but sugar and carbs, if it wasn't for the bittering from hops it would be more sticky sweet than a Coke. I say this as former homebrewer and beer lover myself! If you must have a drink, switch to wine or liquor, just no sugary mixed drinks. Hang in there, brother, you can do it!

I too, am early into a fitness/weight loss journey. I WAS taking today off, but seeing you stick to your plan gave me the kick in the arse to get to the gym tonight. Keep at it, you'll get there. I'm 60 yrs old, 5'9", and I weigh about 215 lbs. Aiming for 185. If you can get a fun, high level workout in, whilst having a blast on the dirt bike, that's a win on anybody's scorecard. The only thing that's more fun, and burns a ton of calories, is knockin' boots, but I don't think I can go for much more than a couple of hours per session anymore. I am getting older.

I would love to see some of the folks that always comment about the bike doing all of the work actually try and ride one. And then put them in sand on top of that. Talk about getting a work out. Stay on it man. I have struggled since I turned a teenager to keep the weight off. I am now 45 and have been going to the gym and lifting weights for close to 2 years. It takes a while. I lost weight and now putting on more weight again, but actually muscle now being the reason. I am back to the weight I was almost 2 years ago but clothes fit different, I can move better and breathe better. Good luck to you and Jess form Her Two Wheels on your journey's!

So many say they'll do something but never actually get around to it. Keeping yourself accountable by filming is great. I've been doing OMAD (1 meal a day) for 6 years. I keep my carbs to 0-50 grams a day. I eat as much as I want of meat & veg @ my 1 meal I eat from between 4pm-6pm. At 6"1ish & 245lbs I was miserable, now I float between 156-158 & feel so much better. I'm pulling for you bud.

Josh - enjoying your weight loss story. Before you say carnivore isn’t for you consider this. Proper carnivore is eating as much fatty meat (ie.. ribeye steak) as you want at each meal until you are comfortably full. Eating carnivore and restricting yourself to 1500 calories will never work. It’s the fat that keeps you satiated and satisfied. Guaranteed you will NOT be hungry on proper carnivore and the weight will fall off. No calorie counting, macros etc…… it really is that easy. Best of luck brother

2:30 fat doesn't spike insulin as much as protein or carbs. That's a good breakfast. I try to eat around 11 am and 3pm or one meal a day for maximum time for fasting so I can run on low insulin while digesting fatty meats and green veggies/salad. Ribeye steak is my favorite.

Dirt biking is the most fun exercise you can do by yourself. Working out is boring whereas dirt biking is not. I think you have a good plan and I'm rooting for ya. Riding is what keeps me in shape even at 52yo.
I love ignorant people who think the bike does all the work. They, obviously, have no clue. I hear guys telling me they could ride our little dirt bikes with no problem because they ride a ZX14, turbo Hayabusa, or whatever else insane street bike the own/have ridden. I always say go ahead and try it. I laugh my ass off when they don't make it 100 yards before eating shit, lol! Street riding is easy compared to dirt riding and especially so if riding nasty singletrack.

You should double check the accuracy on that watch. 177 is pretty darn high. I had a Fitbit that would tell me I was 126 resting; they have questionable accuracy. The kind of estimate it’s giving you would be full blown sprinting for six hours. You’re doing great though!! You got me thinking about getting out of the seasonal funk.

Hey man! Any activity that burns calories counts so no problem burning them in a fun way!
The secret to keeping weight off though will be permanent daily lifestyle changes that you can actually live with. For that I suggest doing a little research on intermittent fasting. It's so much easier than it sounds and the results go beyond just weight loss. For me the only struggle was the morning hunger but that chilled out after a week and my body got use to it. For me it's as simple as only eating between 11am and 5pm. Oh and avoid drinking calories! (Occasional beer nights aside of course)

One day at a time, Josh! It's a journey, not a destination. We as humans tend to look at the bigger picture and lose momentum and get discouraged when we don't see change quickly enough - but if you focus on every day, every meal - be *intentional* about what you're eating/drinking, all the time - it works a lot better. One day at a time, brother!

Props to you man for doing a wieght loss regime. I myself am on a journey for the second time. First run I lost 150# then injured my back and regained 100# so I'm on round two. I'm also doing carnivore. To truly take on the carnivore diet you eat until satiated. You will become fat adapted and then your calorie intact will drop naturally. My current meal is 6 eggs typically 1-1.5# of beef cheese for flavor depending on beef and a healthy amount of butter. That will typically keep me satiated for an entire day. Check out Ken berry and others on the carnivore journey. Lots of good info!! Keep it up!

I'm on the carnivore diet and it's been great. You shouldn't be hungry at all. Your meals are too small. Try eating until comfortably full, about 2lbs of meat plus fat a day, and you'll find a whole lot of different. If hungry eat, if not hungry don't. Gotta give it 30 days at least to start and see some real benefits. Give it some research and another go. You won't be disappointed. Love your content and all my support on your weight loss journey. Keep it up brah! 😊

Ok, glad to see you and Jess both taking action. Yes, portion control can really do a bunch on it's own. And working hard enough to kickstart your metabolism into burning calories whether you still working is another plan. That latter happened to me when I had to clear a bunch of brush and weeds from my property with hand tools, no power tools. Anyway keep up the good work. This too long a video for me finish but power to you. Peace love and light

Josh try optimin nutrition old standard whey protein mix. You mix it with non fat milk and it’s only 120 calories. It’s filling and a good meal replacement. If you can use it and only it for a few days you’ll see drastic weight reduction.

On carnivore, the secret is to eat til you are comfortably full, eventually you will naturally begin to eat less as the nutrition level will keep you satiated. Rooting for you!

Great job man. Really enjoying these, especially in regards to the food. Side note: keto and carnivore you'll have some water retention issues. Meaning you won't be able to hold onto the water you do drink. Nuun tabs are electrolyte tabs that are carb free you just drop it in a bottle of water and drink. It'll help keep you from feeling thirsty all the time.
