Catching Big fish on light tackle - Matagorda Surf Fishin Sping 2024 - By Fisherman ATX

Surf looked good, but off color. Spring time is the best! All though I didn't catch the fish that I usually get this time of the year, I still landed a big bullred. What made it fun is that it was caught on light tackle, with 20# test line and a 3/0 circle hook. I had to take my time and almost lost the fish as the hook started to give in.
As always, fishing with dead shrimp on salt and fishbites, and using breakaway tackle 🎣

Great video, heading out there this weekend to the cut south of Sargent. If weather/sand allows it. How far down did you go and what flavor fish bites?

Thank you! I fish anywhere down from 9 miles and beyond. I always use Pink Shrimp Fishbites. I also used the green one (crab), but the pink shrimp works better for me. Good luck out there 😊👍
