Wesley for 2024 here. Enough time has passed where I can watch my own work with new eyes. But not enough life has passed for it to feel different. Thanks for stopping by.
It feels different for me. This was my favorite Wong Fu video when I was a naive 13 year old - though I didn’t have much life experience, there’s a certain soul to this short that always drew me back to it. I’ve been blessed enough over this past decade to experience relationships that make me relate to this video more so than when I initially watched it, and it feels bittersweet to return after not having been here in a while. So thanks for not only creating this, but for coming back. I’ll be back again in another 10 years.
Man, thank you for the work you/the Wong Fu team put in. Your work truly helped a lot, you guys set the standard for balancing the sentimental and valuable with the masculine and pragmatic… at least for the short form skits I frequented when digesting my own experiences.
OHHHH I FINALLY GET IT, THE TELESCOPE REPRESENTS THEIR RELATIONSHIP AND HOW THE PROTAG THINKS HE CAN FIX IT WHILE JULIE THINKS IT BEYOND REPAIR AHHAHHAHAHHA. (ONLY TOOK ME TWO YEARS)
One slip up in the script. She JUST told him she is stayin' with her parents until she finds her own place. Then, he asks if she is moving again after seeing the boxes, and she legit answers him.
No, lol. To add some realism into it, maybe it was to make it look like he was spacing out, no duh I don't think it was live on camera you insensitive jerk.
Bossthread 6 in some ways I think this shows true love. It doesn’t have to be romantic in nature. I think true love is something that doesn’t die. In this case, after all the years, he cares for her a lot still but he knows he needs to let her be to be happy. True love can be when you learn to love someone and not be with them anymore.
I remember watching this 3 years ago and instantly felt that this was one of the best shorts WongFu has ever made. Watching this again 3 years later is amazing. So much has changed in my life and I'm sure that it's the same for everyone. Can't describe the rush of emotions this particular video is able to conjure up.
I can totally relate with you! I first watched this 3 years ago too when I first started dating my current bf and thought this is how we would end up because I moved states after graduating college. Albeit, I did just move 4 months ago. We'll see what happens down the road. But, I feel like this is what's going to happen to us. And yeah, watching this a second time, 3 years later, the feelings are so different now and has touched me even more. Made me sadder :( Ah . Time will tell! I'm soo happy I remembered this video and found it online still!
I have cried so much at this short film because I am in a transition period of my life right now , where I have to leave old places and people and go into a big unknown . Since I will be leaving , my boyfriend and I decided it would be better to end our relationship on the day I will leave , so that these hurtful things won't happen to us . There are only few days left of this relationship and ...yeah this short movie made me sad
At the airport scene, Julie told Robert (the guy) to open the letter after she literally left. Did you notice that he opened the letter again after he saw that she'd (figuratively) left the relationship? Genius, Wong Fu! 👏👏
when Scott said "I don't think it's totally hopeless" I think he is not only talking about the telescope, but secretly saying that to their relationship. :,)
This film features some truly relatable characters. And the soundtrack...that soundtrack was perfect! Amazing cinematography, this film is incredible in every way.
holy crap these two leads are amazing actors... they should seriously take part in major films. Their gazes, the emotion and detail was so well done :)
Ughhh I loved this short when it first came out but it hits different now, years later. Looking at Irene and Scott’s relationship, seeing how much time and distance can change things - especially things you’d thought would last forever, it’s so bittersweet. It makes me scared of losing people important to me in the future, but it also makes me thankful for the time we have together now. When Irene said they’d find themselves “somewhere like this”, oh gosh I cried because there won’t always be a somewhere like this. Be bold and tell people how much you love them when you do have that somewhere together :’)
Don’t make a decision based on your gender when it’s a decision about taste though.. you as a person get bored when you are forced to watch a 90 min rom movie. I’m a guy too, yet i like a lot of 90min romance movies, i like shorts too, but sometimes they are so inconclusive that it gets kinda annoying.
Amber is coughing because of THAT. Jocy is just dying because she loves Wong Fu. Leah has no idea what we're talking about, but she thinks the video is adorable.
Did the poem mean that their relationship was in the stars, but the telescope broke so the girl couldn't see it anymore? But the boy fixing it meant that he could still see it?
Vessica Games sometimes I feel with change being the only thing constant in life. How do people ever manage to stay together. I know love is a verb, ones own choice. But when different environs changes the whole dynamic... life always gets in the way
Everytime I rewatch a wongfu production video, I am in a different stage in my life and it always brings back so much emotion and different meaning... or even perspective in my life. Such a powerful message, thank you Wongfu.
I fell in love with this film 6 years ago, when I first watched it, it never left my head, I always come back to watch this and always have the same feelings after watching this. Absolutely beautiful film. You’ve been my inspiration ever since. Thank you Wong Fu!
"Reminds me of that night when we watched the stars and we spotted a bright shooting star. He made a wish right when he spotted it and I didn't make it. Today it's not like it used to be. We were a young couple. Every once in a blue moon I become nostalgic." ~ The memories~
This is like my third time watching this and it still hits hard... Thanks Wes for writing such a fantastic short... I hope to write like this one day. You and Phil are absolutely amazing
When I watch things like this, sometimes it gives me hope that I'll meet someone whom I can share a chaste, genuine relationship with... But then I take a look at reality and think of how unlikely that'll be. Oh well. Not everything can be a beautiful movie.
Watching again all Wongfu shorts, and man I still love these. They make me sad but it's ok :( (also makes me forget how they haven't done anything similar to these recently.. :/)
Watching this again for the gazillion-th time. You know, it's hard to pick a favourite Wong Fu short, but I think this one possibly tops it all when it comes to your dramatic pieces ❤️ Everything in this is just perfection! From the acting, to the music, to the cinematography, to the story. #allthefeels
The telescope is fixed, so it implies that she now can see "across the clear sky, among the glowing stars". Therefore, she will "find us". It's an open ending because we don't even know whether she finds the telescope he left at her yard. That's my guess :))
It's like details of animes and mangas irl which is very, very difficult to pull off as well as this production group has since. LOVE the subtleties and the symbolisms 😍😍😍
After graduating college and mostly my friends did too; I work at a restaurant close to the high school we all graduated from. Every so often I would served one of them or run into them at work. About a couple of years ago, some of them are getting married and planning there weddings and there rest of there lives. I just feel awkward that I am still living near we all hung out and some of the memories of them come back.
5:49 -the ever thoughtful, standard wes-chan foreground element shots. Also I just noticed how perfect the framing is at 10:39, where the wood comes into focus so perfectly parallel to the right hand side of the screen. bravo wes/wongfuproductions this was a triumph to endure a century x
I just want to say that content like this is something you guys are fantastic at doing. You draw something creative, meaningful, striking, and thought provoking out from these stories. It may just be me being a "soft" sucker for these things, but your videos grab hold of a feeling that I thought I could never be reminded of. I want to thank you for sharing your content and sharing these pint-sized feelings of love and hope to your viewers. Beautifully written. Beautifully directed. Beautifully brought to life. Thank you, again. -Blake P.
Cinematography is always gorgeous with Wesley's films. like I said in another comment before, it feels just like poetry on the screen! There's intention with every frame, and lighting. Everything holds meaning, it is just gorgeous! I find his style similar to Wong Kar Wai. Sorry that I'm such a simp for Wesley's works hehehhe, I just feel so inspired by them because of how much I love film.
Even though this was released a few months ago, I find myself coming back to this short over and over again. The story, the emotion, the music, scenery, everything. Just beautiful.
It’s 2024 and I’m watching Wong Fu’s old (best) videos. This is one of my favorites: the story, the poem, the lighting, the photography, the actors, and the perfect music. It just struck me that he still has the Acura. Scott holds onto things, still “clueless”, still works at the shop, same values, still optimistic, but ultimately realistic and accepting that life goes on. Beautiful work Wesley!
I really liked this skit.. Nicely made too; I like the use of colors, camera angles, music, and pretty much everything.. The story was beautiful as well
I cried the first 5 times because, my gf broke up with me and my ex was bothering both of us and she thought my ex and I were secretly talking dirty and have interest in each other. And she told me to move on and still haven't, I showed her the texts I sent to make her stop and my ex keeps bothering us again. and she was so fed up with it that we broke up. and she randomly told me yesterday that she wanted to talk to my ex. and my ex was being mean to her and then my ex told her the truth and then she told me and I quote, since this was recently "I would hug you so tight and long right now ._." "I've still moved on.. Don't think.. That .. *hem* yeah" and my response to her was, Sorry I can't think straight right now. So much has happened in and out of the text chat. and tbh, I still haven't moved on.(2 months ago she told me to move on, so i pretended i have for the past 2 months after the break up but i didn't quit trying cause i had the mindset that if i proved to her that i never did anything bad, i thought id have another chance, my plan wasn't just one simple strategy, it was a bunch of variables that had to aline) ...but now that i know that you have moved on, i will... (i made a promise to make her happy the day we got together). Right now this video just comforts me but she still doesn't know that i love her deeply, and i keep my cool in front of her. but i don't know how our relationship with end cause i don't wanna be in the friend zone and see her with her new bf when she gets one. Thx WongFu this video gave me da feeeels ;-;
Im new to all of your videos, i actually came across your channel when I watched that movie,"Agents of Secret Stuff", I have to say, Your videos are quality stuff. I cry at a lot of the videos you make because i get most of them. You guys are inspirational and I hope you can keep going. Sincerely, A new, but big fan :D
Katspearl I’m gonna cry. I’m already crying. If I die it’s this comments fault 😭 I googled that tittle and people are comparing it to your name so I know if I watch I’ll cry and now that I know oyster similar to this videos story I’m ALREADY CRYINGGGGG WHYYYY KILL MEHHHH
This is one of the best short film that I had ever watched. The story is very clear and its perfectly film throughout the whole video.Every small part of the video is what make this good.Great story, ending, and music.
every short film they make leaves me feeling so heavy hearted. wong fu is so good at captivating and evoking just the right emotion at the end of each film.
Wesley for 2024 here. Enough time has passed where I can watch my own work with new eyes. But not enough life has passed for it to feel different. Thanks for stopping by.

+bonUbon That's great! Haven't thought of it that way. Maybe that's why Irene, the girl, wasn't totally happy with him promising that he'll fix it.
Holy shit.
OH I NEVER GOT THAT. WOAH.
i tot their relationship is in the stars, but the telescope broke so the girl cant see it anymore, hahahaha my dumbass
You fucking legend
God damn these guys are good at telling stories.
One slip up in the script. She JUST told him she is stayin' with her parents until she finds her own place. Then, he asks if she is moving again after seeing the boxes, and she legit answers him.
Vannak Sao I think he was too focused on reminiscing what they once had.
It's not him, it's the script. You believe this is real life, live on camera? ...lol
Haha..
No, lol. To add some realism into it, maybe it was to make it look like he was spacing out, no duh I don't think it was live on camera you insensitive jerk.
How can something be so beautiful, yet so heartbreaking at the same time?
it can when you are too weak and believe in true love !!
Frederik Swordsman in reality true love isn't real
+Bossthread 6 it possibly is but its near impossible to find considering there are so many people on earth.
Ling Ling that's life
Bossthread 6 in some ways I think this shows true love. It doesn’t have to be romantic in nature. I think true love is something that doesn’t die. In this case, after all the years, he cares for her a lot still but he knows he needs to let her be to be happy. True love can be when you learn to love someone and not be with them anymore.

+novailablename Love it, too. And it's nice revisiting where I first learned of Julie Zhan after seeing her a few days ago at her film screening.
I can totally relate with you! I first watched this 3 years ago too when I first started dating my current bf and thought this is how we would end up because I moved states after graduating college. Albeit, I did just move 4 months ago. We'll see what happens down the road. But, I feel like this is what's going to happen to us. +trupnai640 Hey. How are you?
novailablename it because it made by Wesley lol ahahaha bias
I have cried so much at this short film because I am in a transition period of my life right now , where I have to leave old places and people and go into a big unknown . At the airport scene, Julie told Robert (the guy) to open the letter after she literally left. Did you notice that he opened the letter again after he saw that she'd (figuratively) left the relationship?
Genius, Wong Fu! 👏👏
That was deep.
Boi, fuck my life.
Wow didn’t notice that til now after watching this 4+ years later
Ivan Joven it’s hard when you love someone so much but the timing is off. Life gets in the way.
It was not again , I think it was the first time he opened it.
when Scott said "I don't think it's totally hopeless" I think he is not only talking about the telescope, but secretly saying that to their relationship. :,)
wes chan and his freakin genius cinematography
Agreed
Damn those invisible ninjas cutting onions every time I watch this
Ikr
same :( :( :(
LOL
Ethan Jin Same! Except the invisible ninjas didn't cut onions, they made my phone fall on my face and it f***ing hurts my teeth! First world problems.
Invisible ninjas cutting onions... rofl... will definitely blame all further occasions of tears on them!
"Across clear skies,
Among glowing stars,
That's where i'll find us." ooh~ Congratulations I love this short film!
I think i found us... 😆
Meaning that she'll never find us(she and he).
This film features some truly relatable characters. And the soundtrack...that soundtrack was perfect! Amazing cinematography, this film is incredible in every way.
I swear...every wong fu "short film" does it to me
holy crap these two leads are amazing actors... they should seriously take part in major films. Their gazes, the emotion and detail was so well done :)
Nice sarcasm
Something that is broken and can't be fixed, no matter how hard we try. We just have to move on and never look back.
Ughhh I loved this short when it first came out but it hits different now, years later. "Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened"
as a guy, I get bored to death whenever I'm forced to watch 90 min love/ romance films. But, this really makes me feel something...
Ben Nimac 😁😂
Don’t make a decision based on your gender when it’s a decision about taste though.. you as a person get bored when you are forced to watch a 90 min rom movie. I’m a guy too, yet i like a lot of 90min romance movies, i like shorts too, but sometimes they are so inconclusive that it gets kinda annoying.
this short made me feel sick
"Somewhere like this?"
"Yea, somewhere like this."
ROLL CREDITS.
Someone's been watching a lot of cinema sins
Michael Skies so true hahaha
In my mind I yelled out the exact same thing
A decade later and this is still my comfort short
Guys. This.
This is so perfect.
coughcoughderylcoughcough
AWWWW
What's all this coughing and "awww"ing about?
Amber is coughing because of THAT. Jocy is just dying because she loves Wong Fu. Leah has no idea what we're talking about, but she thinks the video is adorable.
:)
Did the poem mean that their relationship was in the stars, but the telescope broke so the girl couldn't see it anymore? But the boy fixing it meant that he could still see it?
It very well could be. Nice interpretation of the poem! Wonder if the characters ever got back together.
Hell NO! Whachu think, this is a movie oh sumtin? Girl got a man.
Distance
Still one of my favorites. I still watch this now and then, since it first came out.
I wanted them to get together in the end so badly! This video gets me every time!
Yea sometimes it just isn't meant to be... :(
Devin Abraham La La Land movie vibes
there are no happy endings
Vessica Games sometimes I feel with change being the only thing constant in life. How do people ever manage to stay together. I know love is a verb, ones own choice. But when different environs changes the whole dynamic... life always gets in the way
Everytime I rewatch a wongfu production video, I am in a different stage in my life and it always brings back so much emotion and different meaning... or even perspective in my life. Such a powerful message, thank you Wongfu.
Same! what an amazing coincidence!
I swear to god Wes makes the best ones skits!!!
WHY do I still hurt so much watching this years later????!!!
The nostalgia is painful...
after 7 years, this still cuts deep :')
ouch
The piano in this short was so bittersweet.
I fell in love with this film 6 years ago, when I first watched it, it never left my head, I always come back to watch this and always have the same feelings after watching this. Absolutely beautiful film. You’ve been my inspiration ever since.
Thank you Wong Fu!

I cried a lot. Such a good video.
Hi there...
Alexia Chan no more cry lah
Vattey yeah me too ikr
Just rewatched it after my SHS era, still , hits me hard rewatching this
When I watch things like this, sometimes it gives me hope that I'll meet someone whom I can share a chaste, genuine relationship with...
But then I take a look at reality and think of how unlikely that'll be. Oh well. Not everything can be a beautiful movie.
IT'S SEPTEMBER OF 2017 AND I'M STILL COMING BACK HERE FOR MY WEEKLY DOSE OF TEARS I HATE U WONG FU
Watching again all Wongfu shorts, and man I still love these. They make me sad but it's ok :( (also makes me forget how they haven't done anything similar to these recently.. :/)
They came out with a new one today :D "Love Lock"
on a rewatch years later. heartbreaking but also so incredibly lucky to relate to such a poignant piece of work.
Damn, this one really hit home for me
Watching this again for the gazillion-th time. You know, it's hard to pick a favourite Wong Fu short, but I think this one possibly tops it all when it comes to your dramatic pieces ❤️ Everything in this is just perfection! From the acting, to the music, to the cinematography, to the story. #allthefeels
the soundtrack to this short alone is amazing!
Watching this again on a melancholic morning, the feels hits just as fresh!
This broke my heart.
I got the feeling that Wes wrote this. And I was right. Haha.. always deep.
Metta Y. Yeah i can see it in the cinematics, visuals and the use of an object that represents smth :)
The telescope is fixed, so it implies that she now can see "across the clear sky, among the glowing stars". Therefore, she will "find us". It's an open ending because we don't even know whether she finds the telescope he left at her yard. That's my guess :))
Great interpretation. You could be right!
By far one of my favorite shorts by Wong Fu
cheesus crust, even the description is poetic... and that's why i love you guys so much
You guys are so talented!
It's like details of animes and mangas irl which is very, very difficult to pull off as well as this production group has since. LOVE the subtleties and the symbolisms 😍😍😍
this will always be my favorite old wongfu video
After graduating college and mostly my friends did too; I work at a restaurant close to the high school we all graduated from. Every so often I would served one of them or run into them at work. About a couple of years ago, some of them are getting married and planning there weddings and there rest of there lives. I just feel awkward that I am still living near we all hung out and some of the memories of them come back.
The part he left the telescope by the road side really hits me
7 years later and im still crying😭 thank you for this beautiful video, wongfu!
me too
5:49 -the ever thoughtful, standard wes-chan foreground element shots. Also I just noticed how perfect the framing is at 10:39, where the wood comes into focus so perfectly parallel to the right hand side of the screen. bravo wes/wongfuproductions this was a triumph to endure a century x
😍😍😍😍
I just want to say that content like this is something you guys are fantastic at doing. You draw something creative, meaningful, striking, and thought provoking out from these stories. It may just be me being a "soft" sucker for these things, but your videos grab hold of a feeling that I thought I could never be reminded of. I want to thank you for sharing your content and sharing these pint-sized feelings of love and hope to your viewers. Beautifully written. Beautifully directed. Beautifully brought to life. Thank you, again.
-Blake P.
this almost made me cry
Lol "almost." Niiiiiiiiice tryyyyyyy haha kidding.
There's a deep meaning to this.
Man! These videos kept me going during my break up with my gf of 8 years in the early 2000's. Thx Wongfu! #2021
I almost came into tears!!!😢
The videos that Wesley directs and write are always the tear jerking ones ^.^
Thanks for the feels Wes!!!
Yay! new faces = very engrossing short. So glad I've been saving Wong fu vids for now.. it's like running through a never ending treasure chest
Who keeps cutting onions while I'm watching this ;-;
God...I feel like crying TT_TT This video is too beautiful...
Cinematography is always gorgeous with Wesley's films. like I said in another comment before, it feels just like poetry on the screen! There's intention with every frame, and lighting. Everything holds meaning, it is just gorgeous! I find his style similar to Wong Kar Wai. Sorry that I'm such a simp for Wesley's works hehehhe, I just feel so inspired by them because of how much I love film.
this video hits me right in the feels every time!
How did you guys manage to get TVXQ Yunho to cast in this video?!! Hihihihihi
Amyrul Afiq Oh my goodnessthat is what i really thought!!!
Amyrul Afiq they've work with wong fu productions long time ago.
SAME
+Amyrul Afiq I was wondering why I was so fond of this actor... then after this comment, I realized it's because he looks like my bias! haha.
1:48 i love this shot. yeah i know its just feet, but the light and the dust particles and stuff
Even though this was released a few months ago, I find myself coming back to this short over and over again. The story, the emotion, the music, scenery, everything. Just beautiful.
This is one of the most well made videos I've ever watched.
Hope to make something like this someday.
Love these videos.
Make more.
Inspire.
5:44 just realized it is In Your Arms in a piano version ! So beautiful :))
IN LOVE WITH WONG FU PRODUCTION : )
It’s 2024 and I’m watching Wong Fu’s old (best) videos. This is one of my favorites: the story, the poem, the lighting, the photography, the actors, and the perfect music. It just struck me that he still has the Acura. Scott holds onto things, still “clueless”, still works at the shop, same values, still optimistic, but ultimately realistic and accepting that life goes on. Beautiful work Wesley!
SO.
MANY.
FEELS.
That was beautiful.
wow good job wes!
❤10 years later, this still touches my heart!
I'd watched this during a hard break up and till this day I watch it once a year. CrZy
Sameeee !!😢
you guys just gave me emotional blueballs
I demand a proper resolution!! I need closure!!
the photography is beautiful
I really liked this skit.. Nicely made too; I like the use of colors, camera angles, music, and pretty much everything.. The story was beautiful as well
oh and the music addition of kani grannis is awesome...shes sooo talented and im glad i was able to catch her at hotel cafe in hollywood!
I love the color grading in this video :3
He looks like Yunho from TVXQ cx
thank you for saying that lol I didn't want to be the only weirdo kpop fan who thought that lol =)
Wong fu productions !! More like Wong feels productions !
THE MUSIC agggjhhh. Love this short

Lifes full of ups and downs. No worries.
Im new to all of your videos, i actually came across your channel when I watched that movie,"Agents of Secret Stuff", I have to say, Your videos are quality stuff. I cry at a lot of the videos you make because i get most of them. You guys are inspirational and I hope you can keep going.
Sincerely,
A new, but big fan :D
From watching most of the films, I've come to realize that men love, and they love hard. Love hard being the operative words.
Wong fu's skits are always so deep and so relatable.. I couldn't help but shed a tear watching this.
This dude looks like U-know Yunho from TVXQ :)
My thoughts at 7:37 'oh my Ki Hong Lee' XD lol
Same 😄✌🏻️
I hate these stories so much cuz it's reality. It's like that anime movie 5 cm/s :(
Katspearl I love 5 cm per second❤
Katspearl I’m gonna cry. I’m already crying.
If I die it’s this comments fault 😭
I googled that tittle and people are comparing it to your name so I know if I watch I’ll cry and now that I know oyster similar to this videos story I’m ALREADY CRYINGGGGG WHYYYY KILL MEHHHH
been there done that got the t-shirt
rented that movie, couldnt make myself watch it
I hate these channel Alot. Not because it's bad but because it's good and it reminds me of stuff deep inside
This is one of the best short film that I had ever watched. The story is very clear and its perfectly film throughout the whole video.Every small part of the video is what make this good.Great story, ending, and music.
The note says "Across clear skies, Among glowing stars, That's where I'll find us"
Clever using the sunset metaphor at 5:11.
I'm sorry, but watching this tearjerker just became hilarious after The Last Resort.
Jesus I find it hard not to cry at almost every single one of these sketches. You guys are doing something right!
Is it just me or does that guy sort of look like yunho from tvxq in the face?
I thought the same thing!
Me too!
He's like a little Yunho lol
Im sorry but "GOD DAMNIT WONG FU" you made me tear up as if i lost a girlfriend thanks also i love your work
7:42 that guy i dont know why.. but seeing him in your vids makes me laugh lol...
i guess its because of your vid "how we never meet" hahaha...
every short film they make leaves me feeling so heavy hearted. wong fu is so good at captivating and evoking just the right emotion at the end of each film.
Across clear skies,
Among glowing stars,
That's where i'll find us. xD
