There are a lot of stripers here, but unfortunately, the first fish broke my rod… Remember this place, and definitely check it out if you get the chance🎣
Thanks!!! Yeah, I’m used to using a heavy-action one-piece rod usually.😁But this fish wasn’t that big, so lifting it like that shouldn’t have broken a medium-heavy rod…
Dang, that sucks. I dunno what kind of rod it was or where you got it, but it seems like a return/replacement is definitely in order here. It had to be a defect. That was a nice fish, but it wasn't *THAT* nice 🤪
Thanks!!! This is a St. Croix TRC70MHF Triumph Casting Rod. It’s a new rod that I planned to use for several spots on this trip, but it broke at the very first spot. I’m definitely going to reach out for a return or replacement.
Good job sticking with it with 1.5 rods. A beautiful location is good motivation.
Thanks!!!🎣🤝💪
It’s a shame that smallmouth bass was just a hair away from being in my hands.
@@peterfishingSo close. I’d count it as caught since you got it on land, but a picture and release would have been nice.
Half a rod and you still made it happen. That’s place looks so scenic and awesome to fish at. Great job!

Your fault bro. But yeah that sucks.
Bad ass location tho.
Thanks!!!👌
Peter never reel in to close to the rod tip of ur rod that’s probaly why it broke i did the same mistake with a 200 dollar rod and it broke😢😢😢
Thanks!!!👌
St Croix rods break 😢
yeah,that’s really a bummer
You don't fish lake Powell with light rods
You’re right! Too bad it’s tough to find a travel rod in H
That sux. Hard to lift fish that high without risking a break.
Thanks!!!
