Peter never reel in to close to the rod tip of ur rod that’s probaly why it broke i did the same mistake with a 200 dollar rod and it broke😢😢😢

Yeah, I’m used to using a heavy-action one-piece rod usually.😁But this fish wasn’t that big, so lifting it like that shouldn’t have broken a medium-heavy rod…

Dang, that sucks. I dunno what kind of rod it was or where you got it, but it seems like a return/replacement is definitely in order here. It had to be a defect. That was a nice fish, but it wasn't *THAT* nice 🤪

This is a St. Croix TRC70MHF Triumph Casting Rod. It’s a new rod that I planned to use for several spots on this trip, but it broke at the very first spot. I’m definitely going to reach out for a return or replacement.
