Clearing the Way: Combat Engineers in Afghanistan (Trailer)

The true story of 23 Field Squadron (1 Royal Canadian Regiment Battle Group), Canadian Combat Engineers deployed to Kandahar in southern Afghanistan from August 2006 - February 2007. Charged with taming the harsh Kandahar terrain, the Squadron overcame enormous obstacles so allied forces could live, move, and fight on the battlefield.
Deemed the unsung heroes of Canada's Afghan War, the Combat Engineers built forward operating bases, spearheaded local construction projects, constructed roads, and cleared improvised explosive devices, all while surrounded by insurgent forces.
