    Hi you should note the following.
    Note that the lavender type called lavendula Augustifolia is toxic for babies under / kids under 6yrs, breastfeeding and pregnant mums, elderly and sensitive skin people but the the other lavender is also great for eczema as Iv tried and tested this and seen a major improvement in 3 days by using morning and night

    I would like to know, can you add liquid cow or goat milk directly into a plain melt and pour glycerin soap base. I know I am going to add honey, definitely, but I have no idea if the milk will turn the soap moldy real fast, will ruin the soap in any kind, etc. I would really like to add the benefit to melt and pour soaps! I can add milk to cold process soap due to the lye turning it into soap, but I'm not sure about melt and pour soaps. Thanks!

    • @UntidyArtist
      @UntidyArtist  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Grace C. Hi! Excellent question! I would not suggest adding liquid cow or goat milk to your melt and pour soap for the exact reasons you mention also, because of the high water content the melt and pour soap base already contains. If you would like to add cow or goat milk to your soap base you can add about a teaspoon to a small amount of water and then add it to your soap once it has melted. You could also mix the powdered milk in with the honey and then add it in to your soap (a slurry). I love milk soaps! The lactic acid in the milk is so incredibly good for your skin! Hope this helps! I would love to hear how your soap turns out! Happy soaping! :)

    • @cutepony8864
      @cutepony8864 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Emilie Lefler
      Thank you very much for your immediate reply! I should probably evaporate the milk as much as I can to reduce the water content! I'm glad I could still do a bit, at least, because I LOVE milk and honey soap! They naturally smell wonderful! That's why I love using the commercial bought milk and honey soaps, but I want to try making some myself! (Well, at least partially myself, the soap base I didn't make)
      I just ordered glycerin soap bases from a local store and are eagerly waiting to pick them up at the beginning of
      November, but I'll have to wait for the molds to arrive in at least 2 weeks. I can barely wait! I wanted to try cold process, but I decided it was too dangerous to handle sodium hydroxide (I was so sad about that, but melt and pour isn't bad at all!) and switched to this much safer method. Perhaps someday I will trust myself enough to try that out too! I'll give you an update soon on how things turned out! I really appreciate your help! Happy soaping, too!

    My smell just doesnt have keep that aroma to it...like when i shower i smell it on the soap but you know when you get out the shower and walk past the bathroom and still smell the soap you used? It doesnt do that. How can i achieve that? Im using goat milk soap melt and pour from Amazon and bramble berry fragrances. PLEASE HELP

    • @fullofcharlotte
      @fullofcharlotte 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      alexisdeniro it should work but i suppose it could depend on the type of fragrance, how much you put in, how you stir it, what temperature the soap is when you add fragrance, etc. and some smells are just stronger than others

    Your recipe looks very simple and easy to make. I'm new at soapmaking. How soon after you make the soap, can you use it? Other TH-camrs have said it takes 4 weeks to "cure"; what is that about? Also, how much soap does 1/2 block of soap base yield?🤔

    • @abbigail6587
      @abbigail6587 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      what you said need to wait for 4weeks to “cure” , which is naoh/Lye, is a Handmade soap. But👆 with soap base which doesn't need to wait for 4weeks.

      Nana Kay calculate how much your materials cost and usually people charge 3x that to cover costs and profit. So if it costs you $1 charge $3 for example. And if you package it include cost of packaging like bags or labels
