Not sure what they invested into that building, but it might of been a move made in the run up. We run 120mw with no building. A small office. Modest for times like these. Beautiful idea though if mining were continually profitable. With halving on the horizon, I would've held off on that building.
@VoskCoin I would need to confirm with our CEO. Some of the items inside the MDC's are proprietary, so they're particular about those not being filmed or snapped in photos. I'll check with them and get back to you. Much different setup than Core's. Would definitely be a good comparison to show two different approaches.
Why didn't they invest in renewable energy instead of relying on the grid? They could have put up solar panels or a wind turbines that produced enough free energy. It could have kept them in business and been green.
The amount of solar and wind, if it is even a good site for it, would be astronomical, and wouldn't be running 24/7. Solar max output for most of the US is around 5 hours a day and wind is spotty even in really good areas. I live in a place with a wind farm in the surrounding properties and even those are only on maybe 10-12 hours a day. At best it could offset costs during peak solar production but the cost to install/maintain it would be more than just buying cheap power from the grid.
@@sandmanxo New wind green energy are insane, the work 24/7 and even between buildings like in NYC. It is all about the designed. Maybe these crypto farms will upgrade as new green technology comes online. #hodl
It all comes down to money. its more practical to use grid power and buy more machines than to invest in renewables. It would be better to get nuclear, hydro or geothermal power.
@@wwyhkop Nothing is an absolute. The electric grid is not always good and reliable either. But at least with solar, wind, and battery packs, it reduces the strain on the aging power grid.
Vos! Another eye opening video....I noticed all the miners had their own power supply. Is there a reason why a special voltage circuit couldn't replace all of those individual power supplies and save cost and maintenance?
Bitcoin will flourish, just think, it would have been ruined 20 years ago if it really wanted to be ruined. The owners of the centralized bank (FIAT) will see that there is already a power in the hands of the people, which we call cohesion. If governments want to overthrow bitcoin, it will lead to a global civil war. Which proves it's a prison planet. And not even to mention that we have the free energy technology, with which these machines will ensure the energy supply of the mining machines. You know what's good about that? That an equal social balance is finally created. The concept of rich and poor on this planet will disappear. Any thriving mining farm will soon know this.
Nuts, so if a supper efficient well organised mining facility goes bust it can’t be going well for all the others mines and the mining road is coming to end? What I don’t understand if millions sell something and make profit in bitcoin or buy bitcoin then surely the demand for bitcoin will out strip the available bitcoin?
Part of the issue too is they borrowed a lot and were margin called on there debt. It may be easier running a large facility but your at the mercy of your local law and energy provider. Miners are moving towards more mobile platforms because of unpredictable local governance and energy prices thanks to congress.
They expanded to fast and took on a TON of debt to build the facilities and buy all the equipment/repair components. When the market crashed, they were SUPER upside down.
Crypto Currency is Humanity's Biggest ILLUSION. Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
They seemed quite proud of security but it didn't seem that secure with the mesh filter walls and a fence in the back that could be jumped over. The bigger issue has to be the amount of money spent on cabling electrical and networking alone, much less all the hardware. Add in the amount of labor to keep this place running and I can't see how this was profitable. Even with cheap power that's a big scale to keep up and running. At less than $1,000,000 a day mining ~45btc a day(I assume all 3 facilities) at todays pricing that's not a lot of revenue for that investment.
Thanks for the detailed and interesting explanation. What about privacy coins like Monero or Crypton CRP? Privacy coins pretty nice choice nowadays if you need anonymous transactions. The only thing that is necessary to start CRP mining is an internet connection and a modern computer with the basic characteristics that every computer has today.
So, why don’t Bitcoin mining facilities use the futures market to hedge in downturns? Many, many industries successfully do this through the lean times.
Asphalt is a terrible choice for paths/roads in this situation, and any situation that heat is the enemy. Asphalt retains and emits tremendous amounts of heat.

The massive amount of energy consumed to mine these software and intangible items needs to go away... Crytpo doesn't need to go away just the absurd amount of energy it takes needs to be reigned in.
Core Scientific failed its investors, because bankrupt before this video--so you are correct. This is like pumping FTX after they were exposed. I've got to question Vosk here. Very discerning. Edit: Did not realize this video was a redeux.
Why not move the whole thing to a new country? Island or Ecuador or any other country ? Why not get 1-2 submarine nuclear engines ? arround 200 MW / engine? This has to be very very bad management. Or the guy transfered all btc in a wallet somewhere and declared bankrupcy to not pay taxes.
I expected they’d be super paranoid in a business like this but instead granting full access to their entire layout while giving away what sounds like trade secrets and sensitive information regarding security, routing of power, backup systems, etc.
God bitcoin is so awfully inefficient, it was a great idea on paper 20 years ago but its such a outdated way of making new coins. like the actual banks are using less computational power at this point...
I JUST DONT GET OR UNDERSTAND WHAT THESE COMPANIES DO WITH THEIR MONEY AFTER YEARS OF MINING ONLY TO GO BANKRUPT!???? THIS MAKES ZERO FINANCIAL SENSE! MY KADENA MINERS MAKE MORE MONEY THAN ANY BITCOIN MINER EVER DID AND I CAN JUST TRADE THAT IN FOR BTC! I JUST DONT GET IT! LOLZ
Do you know what their base kwh $USD rate is? I heard around $0.07. Can you reach out to me as we have 250MW in africa at much lower than that.. currently in setup phase, maybe we can get you out to tour what we have going on.

This has to be one of the most craziest tour when you think about it to make money at this level
Not when you consider how much of it is leveraged against tax payers debt.
I think this is good, BTC was never planned to mine in this rate, BTC should mine by small people. not this hugh mega corporation
How did they buy energy? Did they buy directly on the energy wholesale market or they use an intermediary?
Them shutting down gives better security because it saturates the machines instead of too many in on place and better rates for little guys

2 questions . what is the power rate ? and what are they doing with all the heat generation? it would be a crime to not use the heat generated

Wtf did I just watch.
Awesome video!
Wow the rich getting richer..... awesome 👌
It's cool and it maybe the future but it does seem like a lot of effort and resources just to get a virtual coin/token.
The US dollar is just as virtual and runs on proof of war.
Isnt this the place next to Cleanspark in Dalton?

they should be wearing ear protection, too many loud environments with sustained high decibels. not safe.

Great to hear you like products from TSMC.
Are these guys mining Kaspa now like Marathon is?
How many ASICS miners do they have?

Why not cover the floors and walls with sound proofing?

The energy is the security. The US dollar runs on proof of war, which uses way more power.

What is the eletricity cost per kw/h of a farm like that? if they are running very old ASIC i imagine is almost free lol

Environmentally conscious lol. you just can't be mining Bitcoin by non-renewable power
This business model is doomed to fail from the start. Once all the Bitcoin are mind, that's it, no more. Then what?
It can't be mined in a whole, the more they mine the more bitcoin value goes up.

Borrow money, Declare bankrupt,
Continue mining.
It would be nice if we can buy their machines at a discount…

they should have just bought the bitcoin...
The power wasted for some digital coins when they could use the same power to warm up some houses for the poor but no let's waste the power 😂😂
