Bitcoin mining is incredibly lucrative if you have cheap electricity or you are generating your own which is where using solar panels to power your Bitcoin miners becomes really interesting and one of the best ways to earn passive income in 2023. More people than ever are installing solar panels, and a lot of solar users, are ending up with a surplus in generated electricity, so instead of letting that go to waste people with solar panels installed on their home should turn that electricity into money, with a Bitcoin mining rig like the Bitmain Antminer S19 we are using in this example. Here is everything you need to know on how many solar panels do you need to mine bitcoin, and what else goes into powering your BTC ASIC miners with solar energy!

I installed my own 15Kw solar system for about $20K. I could have reduced that price by using a cheaper inverter--I bought the Sol Ark 12K. When you're pricing out solar panels, if you can buy them for around $.50 per watt then that's a good price. A lot of installers want to sell the customer the high end panels--they're just not worth the price.

the local electrician/installer wanted to sell me the same as i put up my self, for double the cost..
i would have paid double the cost for 1 days work, 10k would have been 20 k..
i even got double the battery size when i did it my self, compared to the offer from the pro installer
ofcourse it have been connected by a pro, i paid 300 dollars for that
that same guy actually also had some very good prices for people that wanted all the work done..
he was connected to the company that sold me the solar system, and his price to put up the whole system was under half the money as the local electrician
im putting another up next month, because it ended up being so cheap in the end..
also considder how much value this adds to a house these days..
i can sell it for 3-4 times what i invested..
because few people offer houses with solar panels, and when the solar production is sold to the grid people make money by living in a house

my 2sats: for solar driven ASIC's it's probably more advantageous to power the units directly with the DC power from the panels/battery since converting to AC just to convert to back to DC is pretty inefficient and you're looking at a minimum 10% loss with each conversion. Additionally, it may be possible to run hashboards in series, allowing you to have a higher DC voltage, say 48VDC which means less copper for the power distribution.

    • @azamroslan
      @azamroslan ปีที่แล้ว +3

This is true for a smaller deployment. DC distribution for larger scale is extremely costly.

Found a setup for smaller modular 4kw solar banks. Which only cost around $1 per watt of solar, diy install of course. ROI is 2.28 years. Then you continue to profit after that on the same solar for easily another 10+ years. One bank per miner would drastically cut cost. Seems better than the actual mining in time, but decent miners is still absolutely required. I'm sure you have some spare 30 amp circuits you could feed into.

  • @DiegoaufTour

I am currently building a 70kw/p system for mining and home supply.
With your current bill, you must not forget that electricity prices are becoming more and more expensive, so there is no way around solar, regardless of whether it is mining or self-sufficiency.
You don't need infinite solar panels, but a large memory that you can build yourself from Prisma cells and BMS.

Solar is very complicated...for starters, which solar panel should you go with that will generate the same consistent wattage most of the time (there are many different brands and models). Which installer should you go with that will service your installation for many years to come (most of the installers I talked to were only in business for a few years, so they didn't have the answer to "Do you service panels after the 25-year manufacturer warranty?" They said, I don't know). Government is offering tax credits, but solar installers are adding that to your cost because they know you're getting a discount. For example, if you finance $100k in solar cost and you're getting $20k back on your taxes, they want you to pay it to them to take down your monthly payments. They're charging you interest for what you're getting back in taxes if you don't pay it to them, it will be as if they lend you the extra $20K and you now you have to pay interest on it. Look at this, total cost for solar is $100k so my payments are $300 per month, if I don't give them my tax return, my payments will jump to $350 per month (for example). So, the true cost of my solar should be $80K not $100K. If I give you my tax return or not my payment should be the same with an early payoff date, like making a lump sum payment. It's a numbers game just like when you go to the car dealership or when you buy an EV vehicle. Dealers and installers take the tax credit. I could be wrong, Do your own research and if you have time let me know too.

So if you put four of those on each four panel grid you would generate 20kwh per four panel grid per day on a windy day. If you have 10 four panel grids your making 200,000 kwh on a good day. the cost for solar panels incl battery is 2/3 of what the numbers in this video says..
so without battery it can be done for around 1/3 of what this video says
where this makes no sense is it say 24 hours per day, why do that when the sun dont shine for 24 hours per day
if you make it maby 12 hours per day when the sun shines it makes more sense and battery is not needed in big scale
i dont agree it makes no sense in london because you need more panels:
1: the panels cost 1/3 of what this video say
2: in the northern part of the world it makes sense to oversize your solar production, so you have as much as posible in the wintertime..
so many homes have alot of waste electricity, some days they even have to pay to get rid of it
and a big battery can save 50cent per kw some days in the wintertime, if you charge it when the tax and price is low
on my solar a 190t miner would pay for it self in around 2 years
if i sold the energy i would probetly make half the money..
but even worse i would have to keep a eye out for the days where i pay money to get rid of my production

@@VoskCoin dont take the first offer when it comes to solar..
most installers double the price on a solar system, they put up in a day..
look at the price for the system at the cheapest place you can find, and then find a installer that will do it paid per hour
or that have a good price...
i have seen prices was over 100% higher with my local installer then mikma ( we have 2 big comanys in denmark that can do it cheap all over the country)
and if you can do mining, you can also put up a solar system..
you only need a dude to connect it to the grid
i paid 300 dollars to connct a hybrid system with mikmas installer, that i had put up my self..

You need to do more research on solar electricity. If solar power is a good thing then why aren't there more people using it?? What about where how many batteries do you need and where are they stored?? I think your solar farm is a great adventure but there is the trust of crypto exchanges to deal with. So to invest $30-600k will be a hard pill to swallow.

I will never try to stop a man chasing his dream. But I do feel that using Roi and anticipated formulas is a key for failure. Lesson, my machines been off now for I guess like 5-6 months. But when I got them a year before shutting them down, I never could of imagined the hashrate growth which basically destroyed any chance of living out the dream I had developed. I was making 1/20th the amount of coin I was when I first started. To kick a man when he is down the electric prices tripled and the btc price decreased almost 66%. Unless u have all your expenses laid out and in the game now, you have no chance! I am not trying to be mean, but just telling anyone willing to listen. The best scenario u can hope for is going bankrupt and getting to restructure or write off your debt while keeping everything.
