I am pleased to know your Mom's health is improving. I like your vids, particularly the early ones. Tell folks about the launch points you use, the segments of the river you fish. Not the specific spots but the general area of the river. Take note of the birds, otters, and wildlife which surrounds the area. Tell folks about the river bottom and holes formed by the flow of the river, like Oxbow turns, similar to your comments about the shade trees. You can always dub comments as you edit your vids. Part of your talent is your quiet nature, use that to your advantage. When you do so the viewer feels they are fishing with you, sharing the trip. I am happy to see the number of subscribers is growing.

Northerner here.whats the difference between a shell cracker and a bluegill/ sunfish?

A bluegill and shellcracker along with bass are all in the sunfish family. Bluegill are referred to as brim. Shellcracker are also called redears. There gill plates have a tag on the end and usually have a red spot at the tip of that tag. Shellcracker generally fight stronger and are bigger in general than the brim/bluegill

Bluegill is the most common species of sunfish (Lepomis). Down here in the south and southeast, we like calling them "bream" or "brim". That's what I called them growing up, even my dad still calls them bream every once in a while. Shellcracker, or the proper name, Redear sunfish, is another species of sunfish. They are a little bit more elongated like a football. Redear and bluegill typically fight aggressively when hooked. But what I have noticed, once a redear is hooked and you land one, they are typically squirmy when held in your hand. You can feel them trying to escape when you get the hook out of its mouth.
