fun fact: 'spel' and 'heim' mean 'game' and 'home (or world)' in certain Norwegian dialects. This nation is in fact, literally, called "Mu's Home of Gaming". (or World of Games, Gamer's Home, however you wanna put it. i'm obviously not a native speaker lmao) My point being, the naming scheme couldn't be better.
Icelander here. You are spot on with "heim", but the "spel" part has little to do with modern norweigian gaming. In modernized icelandic sagas it is spelt Múspellsheimur and just means the world south of the great void Ginnungargap. It existed long before the worlds of man and gods and was the home fire and light and none could go there if not of that world. Or something like that. I still like "Mu´s home of Gaming" a lot.
@@itsmu You know you have to just edit the muspel giants sprite with your profile avatar right? Instead of do it when editing the video? And just play the rest of the game like this. it should have retroactive effect for backed up saves. Release it as a mod too. Otherwise that's just a missed marketing opportunity. Also spirit sight or whatevs they put in the new glamour bless that's marketed as the great equalizer against these glamour effects like blurred and invisible and stuff... well last update I checked it seemed to be still broken, it just doesn't adjust half the things it's supposed to based on description. Honestly the game is about as buggy as Dom5 when it came out in all these little oversights and things. Replays can be different from reports, interactions of effects are not accounted for, additions to the game are not balanced (as in obviously nobody really had time to check all the stuff and there's very little overall balance design plan) the usual. Doesn't mean I don't love it. It's new doms with additions that clearly took some thought and effort. Wish you the best in this new era and the growing dominions popularity.
My Palheim - funny gag is a bit of a stretch Mu... Anyway Heroism is a bit sickeningly good on the giants, I did a single player game as Niefel with 4x heroism + regen. The giants become extremely nasty very quickly. Further engagement for the engagement god.
Looks like the doughnut to me. If so, the landmass is pretty much a long set of chokepoints. The cave layer may be an alternate route, but your giants will be nerfed there.
They're not ethereal in vanilla and have weaker mages (actually imo only the main flotilla even has a mage) it's near damn useless except against people who stubbornly refuse to put pd in provinces.
It does seem like the bottleneck is going to be income not bless points for churning out soldiers. 9 dominion is kind of hilariously high but it's not a bad thing to have given your decent scales anyways. I do think not taking growth might hurt in the long term, I suppose Blood hunting and some weird empowering into blood fecundity to get growth on a few key provinces can help with that in the long run but yeah. As I thought, you can pick mages or melee for the early game but not both. This does leave Muspelheim in a tricky spot if they don't get a decent expansion. That said, your giants are so strong I doubt anyone will really consider attacking you early unless you really annoy them. The next big decision is choosing where to put your first fort, Muspelheim really want that extra fort to get those gyja up and running, their different magic paths will be vital and the cold resistance troops will be better for defensive battles imo. Only problem is forts cost 1k each now by default, and that's like 2-3 turns of income for you. That really hurts either your army size or mage building capability. I will be interested to see how you tackle that. In my game I got very lucky with a gold mine and was able to lean on that to have my cake and eat it. on the other hand I always get inkpot end disease spread sites near my cap in every game I play. Drives me mental.
Unsurroundable seems like a waste of bless points, apparently the value needs to be super high to actually make a difference. And wouldn't muspelheim benefit from taking heat since you would get more design points in addition to aiding your sacreds

I personally think "Dominions 6 with all the DLC" getting "The Awesome" as a title is funny in its own right.
That one player's pretender being named "Skeletor after the incident" makes me immediately think of a litch
Demilich, maybe.
You should add a disguised fire giant hero to Kirkostaculis and say he's from Amuse-pelheim.
Thats actually quite witty 😂
MUspelheim? THEY ADDED A REFERENCE TO YOU IN DOMINIONS 6?!?! THAT'S EPIC!!!!
crazy right

Yes! So it begins anew! The wheel has begun to turn.....
In the beginning there was chaos.
Now you only need to find the province named Mu and it will all come full square-with-smug-face.

TH-cam AND Patreon stuff!
I eagerly await turn 4
Been loving 6 so far, currently doing a Kingdom of Man playthrough with my buddy
I kinda liked to go heat scales with Mypalheim so many points and it actually help your Cap-pals :D
Good luck!

Seeing so much coast immediately brings to mind those awful ghost ships in the Fomoria game. Is that global still in 6?
it is still in the game, but since this is vanilla dominions now, it should be significantly weaker.

new game, lets goooooo

Been waiting for this for a good while! You have this bro, this is your game to win! 😁
Is there a cave layer in this game?
yep.
TH-cam's pretender must obviously be The Algorithm - I wonder what bless they took?
A like and a comment. :D

Man I hate the default mapgen
