I am not surprised that Van won, but I did not expect it to happen this fast. Given how big he had grown, I doubt that you could have stoppen him almost no matter what you had done. When someone you don't even have a border with grows that big that fast, there is not much you can really do to stop him. I think you played pretty well, Van just played better (or had weaker neighbors) I also think that Van was able to somewhat hide how strong he really was, by taking lots of provinces underground, instead of on the surface.
Great game! Van knew what he was doing but he also got pretty lucky with the throne placement. This is also the ideal map layout for van with the great ocean. And cave layer often gets underestimated. Would love to see TNNs point of view. Only thing I would change is maybe not such an early cataclysm. I personally enjoy watching endgames.
Not bad for a position 2 finish. You defeated Ubar, the monkey fear bless menace who I thought had a pretty strong position, and swatted that small van stack. Vanheim was just growing faster and probably didn't get stack wiped. You recovered nicely from that though.
Damn, good game. Vanheim had a huge advantage because of the layout of the map---He is surrounded by water, but there are no water nations, so all his borders are secure once he defeated Helheim, AND he can attack via sailing wherever he wants. Once he took the underground without Agartha or the cavemen putting up much of a fight, it was pretty over. I know you didn't speak much about the diplomacy happening, but I have to believe that Pyrene + Agartha were asking for help against Van who was getting huge. But no coalition formed. :( I don't think there was anything you could do differently other than try to convince other people to attack Van and maybe take the island so that Van doesn't get it and can reach less of your stuff. It isn't as if you could have realistically staged amphibious assaults across the water (though I bet Van had zero scouts in the oceans, so that would have been an interesting surprise attack). It was a far higher percentage play to try and get bigger by taking someone else out instead and getting your own thrones. I say this like I am a great player or something---you're way better than me. Just a few thoughts upon finishing this series. thanks for the great content! Damned elves win again.
Enjoyed this series despite the abrupt end! What did you think of the nation, Mu? As you said, expansion seemed great. Oh, also - just a reminder about that Vanheim player's series link; might be interesting to check out, too. Will you be posting that Sauromatia series you mention at the end, or?
thanks for watching! i think Ur is very comfortable to play and probably a good nation for new players. they expand well and have nice chunky mages. i like em. the sauro game unfortunately was not very satisfying so probably won't get uploaded, it's like to be ctis and lanka next. tnn player perspective is now a linked comment under this video!
22:05 thanks non-branded chocolate candy Mu, I was wondering about that 😄 Please do link us to TnN's playthrough! Do you think you're likely to play another run as Ur, but beeline for Conj 8 and Anzus? I'd enjoy seeing that.
So like, yes, I guess you could've taken additional precautions against an earth nation, but I don't think anyone could've foreseen 30 earthquakes. You just can't feel too bad about that. Really enjoyed this series!
Hey I enjoyed watching, even though you played like shit Mu. Please do link to the TNN player. ;) Really I do enjoy watching your Dominions games immensely. Thanks a lot.
@@itsmu Great and thanks for remembering the graphs. They are fun looking at as a summary and shows how important it is to get down under ground and contest the caves. A break in Dominions games will give a chance to catch up on your Rimworld series, but whenever I start watching a few I always end up playing my own Rimworld colonies.

also thanks for watching. we got a funny earthquake video out of it at least 🙃
@@itsmu And featuring a wild neighbour throwing furniture out the window. Loved the editing on that part.
Fort Your Thrones
😒
Thanks for the series Mu! I always like watching the graphs at the end even though they might not teach much new information

Omg spoilers bro! Haha
@@tylerclark3993 Never read comments before seeing the video. 😅
I am always surprised that people do that...
I wouldn’t have, but mu said to comment and remind him to post the TNN playthrough hahaha-
@@tylerclark3993 Oh! I see the problem there 🤣Sorry about the spoiler then

Your upstairs neighbor both wants to move out in the most efficient way, and remind you how you lost your army.

Wow, I didn't realize quite how much damage that earthquake spam did until seeing the army graph
I was the Rus player in this game, and I'd like to say that I'm proud to have survived to the end of the game at least.... But so did C'tis

C'tis really won the moral victory.
The earthquake fiasco
Yeah, please link the TNN play through!
thanks; i have now linked the tnn player playthrough in a pinned comment under this video.
Elfing, a unfortunate end but it was a good series
Awesome series! Really impressed you kept playing through being sick. I’m sure I would of just given up
Another great series, hope to see more of you soon.
I really liked this series and I learned a bunch from this. Thanks for putting this together I should go watch the other players videos.
22:05 thanks non-branded chocolate candy Mu, I was wondering about that 😄

i have pinned the tnn gamer.
also if i do play ur again it will probably be a long time from now, but anzus would be a good target yeah imo.

Really enjoyed this series!
Great game, I think you played really well especially given the circumstances with the illness, a good takeaway on forting thrones for my own games!
GG! The Ubar this game had a pretty disappointing showing, it was a kindness putting them out of their misery
I kind of expected something like that from van
The way those strikes were placed it was obvious that there was a large plan in it
Who ended up winning the Lanka game?
Also surprising how proportional the Ur-Van graphs were.
can't tell if that game is over or not, looks like it might be down to tnn, marverni and agartha on turn 87.
