CKG Scoops has a 5 year warranty on their products and will be adding a heat treatment in future productions of this hand digger. This should significantly strengthen the blade.
Stay tuned for updates on testing of the heat treated version of the CKG hand digger.
Even without the heat treatment this hand digger is still an awesome digging implement for parks and curb strips.
What makes this hand digger so good is the handle. It has the same handle as the White's Dig Master (is no longer available).

@timbenham516 I am here to make you feel better by saying that me and superfreak have been detecting for about 1 year. I am in my 3rd year of detecting and specialize in detecting pull tabs, bottle caps, can slaw, and foil. I very rarely dig gold and silver. 🤪

I had been using Predators' model 83 as a back up and it felt so good to get the CKG back in my hand.
I was out yesterday in a spot that I have found many old coins and I noticed nothing extra
I was not impressed... What about the second ground balance 🤔 like is that even a real thing?

I had it set at 0 in both ground balances I don’t seem how it will work with out a iron filter and with the DT I was falsely mistaken iron nails for coins I found out using beach mode I am able to to find old coins next to heavy iron ground s wet are dry it’s not as deep as park are field but I can pull old coins with just a one way high tone with proper I’d for example a IHP in heavy iron will give me a ID of 42 to 44 and if the ground is cleaner I can pull IHP as deep as 14 inches with ID of 50 to 51
I believe it’s strictly for deep iron relics and that’s cool I once found a civil war pistol the wooden handle was totally rotten away and the pistol barely recognizable but it look different i am glad I decided to keep it after soaking it in gasoline over night I took a wire brush to it and was shocked just recently same site with the legend I found a civil war iron rod with a hole in the middle for melting lead into bullets at the same site as a fact I am on my way there as I am writing this post it’s a 1800 church on the Ohio Kentucky border a 4.5 hour drive but it’s worth it I found a few very rare button s there also a topic graphic engineer and a infintry both very valuable but this place is the most difficult place I ever MD I have over 14 farm fields as of date and several old vacation areas that date from 1840s unfortunately grounds are only a acre or 2 every few blocks but it’s fun at one spot me and my son took out close to $200 hundred dollars worth of clad found a seated quarter on 6 inches mix in with the eagle quarter s lol a 2 cent coin found there a ton of IHP and many silver dimes rossy and mercury and one 1892 Barber and a ton of sterling silver rings and other silver items but no gold yet you can imagine all the aluminum stuff I do love the Bottle cap rejection it works great at 6 to 7 older very populated sites have a ton of older iron bottle caps the aluminum ones the BC is useless but I can usually tell it’s a bottle cap it gives a louder sound then a coin does

I will not be loading version 1.14 on my detectors. My thought watching paystreak was like; would the engineers maybe add a "feature" just to give people another button to play with ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
