Hi Victoria, I saw that same tiktok and I was so pleased to see how lovely most of the comments are. I’ve loved seeing your journey from the beginning to now being a successful business woman. I think people try and throw being ‘relatable’ around as the best way to judge content. But being ‘real’ and being ‘relatable’ to me are two different things. Me and you have very different backgrounds and circumstances so I don’t find you ‘relatable’ on the surface but because you’re very real, I can relate to a lot of your feelings and authenticity ❤ it would be inauthentic to try and be the same person you were years ago to continue to be ‘relatable.’

You hit the distinction on relatability so so well! I in no way as an early in career woman can afford these things, but I love the inspiration for now and for my future! I watch Victoria for her personality and wonderful perspective on life, for HER specifically not for what she does/doesn’t buy. I will also always value quality>quantity and she is honest about quality. Sadly nowadays it’s so hard to find quality affordable clothes but that is NOT Victoria’s responsibility, it’s the fault of the consumerist culture we live in & fast fashion. I haven’t watched the TikTok and I only discovered you last year, but I absolutely adore your work. I can’t afford any of the clothes you wear & I have early onset arthritis, so I couldn’t even wear the shoes if I won the lottery, but I absolutely LOVE watching you put together outfits and exploring fashion through your impeccable taste. And then there’s your stellar personality, I think you are so sweet and genuine and I adore how enthusiastically you live your life. This is truly how you inspire me, being enthusiastic doesn’t cost me a penny.

I don't know how anybody could ever say anything unkind to/about you.
You, your husband and everyone you choose to surround yourselves with, radiate kindness. You're clearly kind to everyone, from the train station staff to the Starbucks staff to hairstylists to CEOs of fashion brands. I have relatively no money at all, but I adore your content. I'm inspired for hair/makeup looks and outfit styles. People can watch and take inspiration, with or without money. And as for beauty treatments etc, no I can't afford them but I'm fascinated to see it! And how wonderful that you're being so honest and transparent, unlike many other influencers.
In a world where so much is wrong, you're doing it right. Please don't absorb negativity from others. The majority of people love you and your content, for SURE.

I think you seem nice, but I don't feel you are relatable. The amount of wealth and the privileges that wealth provides you are not something I can relate to. However, you seem to work hard, be grateful for your life, and you don't appear to look down on others. That's more important to me about a person than being "relatable."
You only need to watch a few of your vlogs to fall in love with you as a person. Anyone who writes 'hate' on you i genuinely think hasn't actually watched your content. Despite you focussing more on luxury fashion, I still think you as a person are so relatable. I found a video of yours from YEARS ago and watched it again and honestly, other than clothes, you're the same! One of my fave creators and always will be x

Victoria …..I’m 62 years old so obviously my life is much different than yours. But…..I’ve watched you for years and you’ve gone from strength to strength. You’re the hardest working young woman I’ve seen on here. In that way, I relate to you, in my younger years. Your love for style…I relate to you and that’s not an age thing anyways. There’s space for everyone: those that do affordable outfits, those that do the “luxe v affordable” thing, and those that do straight up luxury. The most important thing either way is a person’s character and I find you to be super down to heart, incredibly kind and giving.

I didn’t see the TikTok but I completely agree with the positive comments, you are one of the only influencers I still watch and I love how hard working you are, your style sense is amazing and probably again the only influencer I get inspo from ❤ you’ve worked hard to get where you are, the brands and amount I spend on things now in my 30s is very different to what I could afford in my 20s I used to dream about being able to shop on net a porter and now I can. Exactly! Her sense of humour and also the sense of humour of Alex, are a large part of why I watch! Her humour in the vlogs and his humour when editing, are a winning combination. Absolutely baffled that anyone could be unkind.
Your ability to authentically and meaningfully convey the products and brands values in what you feature in your content, coupled with your hard work, effort and expertise is the reason many of us still watch, even though many of us may never be in the front row of a fashion show or buy luxury brands and that’s ok
To those who mentioned comparing you to other creators: I have never given thought to even or ever compare you to other creators. You are definitely in your own class. You march to the beat of your very own drum and you do it naturally, gracefully, not by force to be different. I don’t believe that anyone should entertain that notion; it is obvious to me that you don’t try to compete, or emulate other creators.

I think that you have succeeded in making yourself appealing to all economic value levels. As one person in your community, so well put,your style ideas can be closely duplicated by similar pieces of various price points from many brands out there.
Also, I know I enjoy/appreciate as I’m sure others do seeing you mix and match your wardrobe. You wear your clothing items and it is helpful seeing how your items hold up which reflects their good qualities and that the purchaser would definitely get their investment worth.

I've only followed Victoria for the last couple of years. I've not watched many older vlogs, so I'm not aware of her "old" style, and while a lot of the items are out of my price bracket, I do get inspiration from her outfits. I mean take the outfit just after she talks about the Tik Tok video, black leather jacket, blouse and trousers with statement belt and ballet flats - its totally do-able for the majority of us (even if I'd do it in navy). Most of us don't want to copy, we want to be inspired, so baring that in mind, Victoria's totally relatable! ❤
16:00-16:20 pretty much sums up why I watch you! Whilst I can't bring myself to spend so much on clothes, I do treat myself to a few accessories. At the end of the day, fashion is your job, which you do damn well and I am here for your kind personality!

You will forever be my style inspo 🥰My husband got me the Airstrait for Christmas (and yes your vid on the Dyson's presentation in NYC I believe, got me into it lmao) and never in my life have I felt so so beautiful with straight hair like that 🥰I am such a low maintenance girly-mom-on-the-go that I don't have the patience to do my hair and some of the Dyson tools there is a learning curve but this one is so easy I am so grateful. The tiktok in question was not hateful at all. It seemed she praised you a lot and was a fan of yours. And said most criticism comes from people turning on influencers when they get too succesful.
I have followed you for yearssss now (more on IG than here) and you have always been very clear about what you wear and why you prefer sometimes expensive items, that you invested in quality clothes that you can afford, and actually that inspired me a lot at the beginning of my twenties and I do it every time I can with the money I have. And that's the point of what you do, inspire, not to tell others what to wear or how to spend

Isn’t that the point of high fashion? Taking something unrelatable and turning it relatable? You don’t have to be completely relatable, as far as the brands and price point of clothes you wear. Victoria, I have watched you on TH-cam for the past couple of years because it brings me joy. It’s like friendship….you can have friends which you have nothing in common with but you enjoy being with them. I’m glad you did speak out about the negativity. I’m 63, have struggled with weight most my life, and live a moderate routine life in Virginia….which I absolutely love. I’ve been watching you since you were in your flat in London with purple hair. You bought a red dress in an ASOS haul back then that inspired me to get a dress like it for my final year Uni Ball. Although I can’t afford the clothes you purchase and wear now, you still inspire me with your fashion and style, and I still find you relatable. Hi Victoria, the thing that truly inspires me the most about you, is your kindness and friendliness.
I've been saying to myself recently, "what would Victoria do?" when I am in a situation where I want to tell someone I don't really know that I liked their class or their outfit, or making more of an effort to chat with my hairdresser for example, little things that pushes me out of my comfort zone to make new connections with people.
When you filmed yourself getting your make up done in New York with the lady who had a little dog too, and you both bonded over your dogs, it's things like that that inspire me to do the same and make the most out of meeting new people. It's such an amazing quality and you embody that. This is what makes you so relatable imo, regardless of financial status. It is the person you are inside.
Of course, I have to mention how fun it is to see all of the clothes, travel destinations and make up because it's so fun to watch and pick up new ideas! I love this content alongside the connections you make and have with Rebecca and Alex, for example.

I've been following you since 2015 on TH-cam and on your social media channels, so I have seen how your fashion style and content has envole over the years to high end luxury fashion, becoming super successful doesn't mean that you're suddenly no longer relatable as a person and although the clothes you wear now is beyond my budget, I personally enjoy and appreciate your content and think your doing a great job.

While I agree with all the lovely comments here pointing out how being authentic is what makes us connect and isn’t necessarily linked to being relatable, I’d debate that if anything, following your whole journey and seeing what you did to get where you are is what still makes you highly relatable.
I started watching you when I was 15 and you had the purple hair, and I wanted to be as confident and cool as you. Now I’m almost 30 and the same thing applies: my aspiration changed as I aged, and you being a strong business woman (that’s still super cool) is the best I can look up to!
