As a Duck fan since '87, thank you. We needed this pep talk, and your delivery was taken to heart. Appreciate your not being a "Oregon hater" like so many Big Ten folks are. It is refreshing to be accepted in the neighborhood, albeit new and scary to us here at home in Oregon. Next year baby!
I'm the opposite of an Oregon hater (maybe to the chagrin of other Big Ten fanbases in this community haha) . Ducks will continue to have these CFP opportunities, have to find a way to take advantage of them now.
I remember when making a bowl game was the greatest thing ever. Watching the progress that has been happening for the last 20 years or so is amazing. It took a battle. There was many who didn't want U of O to be one of those sports ran universities. They didn't want the influence of a rich guy who really just loved the university. That led to the slow down of progress for years. There came a point that higher education was never going to pay the bills. Long story short the bridge has been crossed. We have a young coach who has every sign of greatness ahead and truly understands he has all the support to get him there. I personally am really impressed with what he has done so far. this has been a very good season. Better then last year and last year was better then the year before. Having said that boy did they come out flat. Looked like a dear in the headlights. changes nothing about the future and the direction of the program but sure makes a bunch of questions to answer going forward
You’re “ impressed with everything he has done”. What? Like losing twice to UW last year. By getting blown out in the playoffs with a month to prepare. Why would you be “ impressed “ with that?
I really like the comment’s about Dante Moore. Don’t get me wrong I am glad that we had Dillion this year and believe that he was great for the Ducks provided quick success (although that is hard to say after the beating we took at the Rose Bowl) and time for Dante to study and learn the system. Dillion had trouble getting the ball over some of the large OSU lineman as a number of ball’s were tipped. And while Dillion is athletic, he is relatively short for a QB which I think contributed to this. It may have contributed to some of the picks he threw this year as well. Dante Moore is much taller probably stronger and perhaps better equipped to deal with such pressure. I believe in Dan Lanning and I also think that his support of Dante Moore shall bear fruit in the next few years to come. Go Ducks,
You might want to also point out that Ohio state's coach Ryan day has also not yet won a national championship and he has been the head coach for over 5 years now
Every team that had a first round bye lost. Every team that won their first round game also won their second round game. There's something to be said for meeting teams fresh from the high of a first round win when you're rusty from a month off.
Yeah all the bye teams were outscored a combined 81-21 in the first half of their games. Something I hope the playoff committee takes into consideration for the future to work out
Classic confirmation bias fallacy. Boise and ASU, while decent, would be dogs to almost anyone in field. IIRC there hasn’t been an “upset” yet. Even Ducks were -2.5 dogs. ND closed as a fav. The seedings were off…that’s the issue….
Other fan bases are scared and jealous. They will point to zero nattys and uncle Phil buying a team etc but that is all fear. The truth is that Dan the man is just getting started. The Oregon roster was made up of mostly seniors from the Mario C teams. Dan's first class two years ago will start to get some serious playing time next year. We have now three top 5 recruiting classes and that will begin to show on the field for years to come. As a Duck fan I am very satisfied with the season they had. After the BIG10 chip I had crowned the season a success. The natty takes time and usually you have to get there several years in a row before you win one. I think the BIG10 will win the chip this year again. Whether Penn State or Ohio State. Two teams that Oregon beat during the season. Oregon has to get to a point that they are dominant over these other teams. They went 13-0 but some of the games were very close. Once Oregon starts to beat these teams year in and year out by two or three TD's, then they have arrived and will win several nattys. We are climbing the ladder. This year was very good progress. We are playing the long game and we will get there. Go Ducks
When do you think the long-game started, coach, year, player?!? 34-0 at halftime that’s on the players and the coaches no one else, they had everything. They were high on their hype and that was apparent. Nonsense.

All of the ingredients are there! 100% spot on Ted. They will be there again next year. Huge credit to the Ohio State squad, they just straight beat us this time. I'm looking forward to all our next meetings and its probably going to be a slugfest each time. Iron sharpens iron. Also looking forward to USC and UW joining Michigan, Oregon, Ohio State, and Penn State as competitive programs. Let's go have a B1G natty, Penn State vs Ohio State!!
Casual fans acting like Oregon has been stacking recruiting classes like Ohio state has for decades lol. They only been recruiting with top classes for the past 3-4 years.
Props to you B1G 10 Ted for truly sharing your OPTIMISM and putting Lanning's program and RISE in perspective. After Kelly left we had HIGHER expectations and Lanning ignited the foundation of solid building. Not to dismiss this loss, however two post-season disappointments is concerning back to back. These are the bumps we'll have to take, however your independent commentary is a refreshing lift respective of other sports analysts who've been harsh on the Ducks and Lanning. Most importantly, you righted the "expectation" to match the growth - building and rising curve. Thank you for giving Duck Nation a taste of B1G 10 reality!! #GoDucks
Make no mistake, there is no excuse to play like that on that type of stage, but the ceiling of these young players is higher than the transfers they've had to fill with. Dan is doing everything right, there are a LOT of teams that would love to be in the position that Oregon is in.
This hurts (true and loyal) Oregon Ducks fans because of the way the season ended. But, on the other side of the coin, Oregon accomplished so much this season as well. I'm definitely looking forward to what the future will be for the Ducks. Coach Lanning and his staff have Oregon heading in the right direction. 🦆 Go Ducks 🦆
Agree. Dan is still learning even while being a master at motivation, attitude, etc. He and his staff are amazing recruiters. As you said, and as Ohio State demonstrated, players who come in from high school and tough it out for 3, 4, 5 years are the key. I love the portal guys to plug holes, but developing the high school recruits is key...and that takes time. I'm proud of this team and this program and can't wait to see how it unfolds.
A Master at motivation ? Apparently you didn't really watch the Rose bowl. We've been saying this same shit for 2 decades. Every single year we get completely jacked up and excited only to have the bubble busted when it counts the most. This guy is saying the same crap we have heard over and over and over.
I live in Oregon, Iam a Duck fan over 65+ yrs, i believe in Coach Lanning, only in his 3 year as a head coach, and hes got Oregon’s 1 ever 13-0 seasons, we got fkd in the in B10, only to beat all the big boys in the B10, won the B10 championship trophy 🏆 in 1yr in the B10. SO, lanning is making a championship team, & may take a few more years. I will never 👎 waver from Oregon ducks. Haters will hate, and their opinions don’t matter. GoDuckz💚🦆💚🦆💚🦆💚🦆💚🦆💚🦆💚🦆
@@BigTenTed Beautiful if you can stand 9 to 10 months of grey overcast and drizzle per year, not to mention having the Ducks crammed down your throat most of that time as well.

As bad as this game was, the Ducks will continue to grow because Dan has a growth mindset. That said, we’ll get to the promise land. It’s not at Red Sox level of 86 years, then again we haven’t won yet… We’ll be ready to do it all over again come August! Great content as usual Ted! SCO DUCKS 🦆!
This Oregon Football program is definitely still growing and the best is yet to come! There's a new kid on the BIG10 block! The Ducks have some business to finish! GO DUCKS! 🦆
As a long time Oregon fan, props to Ohio State. Congratulations! So hilarious SEC fans keep saying Texas and Georgia will meet in the CCG and Texas fans keep saying Texas will beat them. Well.... SEC!? It's all BIG10 in the NATTY. BIG 10 taking all the money pots this year and the years to come.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Don’t feel sorry for the Oregon Ducks They have a brand new quarterback this year and they went 13 -0 in the regular season and won the conference the Ducks have nothing to hang their heads about.
The game really really hurt. But I still renewed my season tix, took a day to be sad and grieve. But look back, this is the first year and we on the whole damn league first go. I still say we are not stuck in this new conference with you, you are stuck in here with us and we are going nowhere but up
People can hate all they want. Ducks are doing good. Pretty sure Noone expected them in their first season in the big10 to win 13 games in a row and take the conference championship..thats not too bad.
For me, it’s still Ducks every day all day. Win or lose, I am an Oregon Ducks lifer. If recruits bail because of this, we are lucky to get rid of bandwagon people. This loss can drive this program to a new level of hunger.
Oregon has some of the best coaches, some of the best players, some of the best resources a 13-0 season with the B1G conference title and still can't get it done... there's no place to go but down.
Defense needs to be better, possibly much better. Linebackers are good, not great. DB's are good, not great (also too small for the evolving college game). I feel confident that Oregon is reloading on the D-Line. Some concern on preparedness for this game. The month-long wait before the game simply did not help. At the end of the day, Ohio State had better overall players and the coaches had them prepared and focused. As my old Offensive Line coach would say:" Keep your head up and keep your feet driving!". Very proud of Oregon. Room for improvement and I believe it will happen.
Thanks for trying to cheer up the fan, but this season was unexpectedly amazing and if they were this good this time, they will never go this far again
Just know that if either OSU or psu win natty 🦆 can lay claim to it being shared also idc what Dan says cfp needs to reward top seed not give them rematch like that early on if not 🦆 need to throw season games to get better seeding which makes college football season meaningless which defeats the point of college football as we know it
The Ducks Football Team will come back stronger from this loss, so Ohio State better pack their lunch next year. We never give up and never quit. Ohio State will go down next year. Just wait and see. GO DUCKS BABY!!! WE NEVER GIVE UP!!!
I am all for the playoff expansion. If Ohio St wins it all that's great and proves why the expanded playoff was needed. But if this was the BCS era, or even the 4 team. I think Oregon would have won it all.
BCS would have seen Oregon play Georgia, Oregon wins that one. 4 team would have seen #1 Oregon vs #4 Penn State , not sure how a rematch would have gone with the Nittany Lions.
They may not go anywhere but Lanning has BY FAR THE MOST HOT SEAT to show he can prep. The prep this team for key games was gross; too often the team showed up not ready to go from the jump. Only the first game against OSU had some semblance of coaching. Dude better perform next year or some coaches (Lupoi) flat out need to get out of town. They need experienced coaches who know what the hell is going on to match chess moves
It seems like only yesterday that Mike Belotti took a chance on a guy who was doing things a bit different. The longest tenured coaching staff in college football welcomed in a new OC with a "new" style of play that was designed to do a LOT more with a LOT less. Of course, both the football powers and powerless at the time could only call it a gimmick and try to ban certain aspects of this playstyle that would ultimately prove to be one of the most disruptive changes to the sport in several decades. Sorry, but I have to laugh just a bit when someone feels the need to cheer me up by saying "it's ok Oregon football isn't going away/ anywhere" when it's literally played everywhere.😂 🍿 The revisionist history has been in the making for at least 10 years now.
I agree think ducks will win it all at some point. But man, I am just dying to see them put it all together. So many great teams that fell just short, so many times. And anyone who watches college football will rip you beyond belief for being a duck - regardless of how their own season went. Will continue to be one of the most brutal fanbases to be a part of until they win it all and shut everyone up.
What narratives? Dans in year 3 recruiting at a level Oregon has never seen. Has gotten better every year. I don’t understand the negativity that they are getting. They are rolling. Duck fans that have been around for years are not that surprised they lost that game and I don’t believe real fans expected them to win the natty this year. What a year it was.
I do not like the playoff settings. I think leaving it top 4 teams so these other teams who have cake walks to get into the playoffs do not make it in.
Oregon is losing a ton of experience going into next season. I think the team will be good, but not as good as this season. It's a more favorable schedule, but the lack of experience will show
Thanks for the vote of confidence Ted but we have heard ALL of this same shit for the past 2 decades. You mark my words this will look exactly the same next year as it did this year. Lanning is no better than any other coach we have ever had. This guy had the #1 team in the country, They were undefeated, They were at full strength, They had almost a month to prepare for a team he already beat and that is the product he put on the field? this wasn't a 3 point loss this was a complete embarrassing shit stomping. I love your optimism but I don't see our M.O. changing anytime soon. 10-2 or 11-1 and then shit the bed when it counts the most.
34-0 before halftime. Rightfully so. Not prepared. Not even remotely entertaining. A loss totally understandable, that 💩 of an effort, absolutely not, never. We can have expectations and they were not competitors, have no right to ask anything of fan base.
That was the worst coaching performance I have ever witnessed in such a big game. It's the worst performance by a ranked #1 team in the history of college football. Never has the #1 ranked team been down 34-0. The first drive said it all. 75 yds in three plays. Not a single defender within 10 yds of any receive on the first drive. As a duck fan and alum, someone needs to be fired. To run for -23 yds based on how the season went is a wake up call that this staff doesn't have what it takes in big games. That includes Lanning. The D was absolutely clueless. Tosh and the O line need to be fired like yesterday. Oregon spends millions on NIL and members of the staff lost this game and Lanning is to blame. Why would a recruit want to come to Oregon with second rate game plans and coaching.
Problem is Lanning can’t coach. Sure , he will get top players with NIL at his disposal. that guarantees around 10 wins despite his inferior coaching. But come down to game preparation, it’s over. He had a month to prepare for the #8 seed. And got blown out. 34-0 before he even got a first down? Come on. Look at last year. Twice to prepare for UW. Fail. How many years of failure will the Administration tolerate?
Unprepared, terrible play calling and coming out like that is 100% unexcusable...... terrible all around and that's tha differences between Oregon and championship teams.... that's INEXCUSABLE
You are correct, nothing excuses laying that kind of egg. I'm hoping with Dante's arm talent, Stein doesn't resort to as many of those screen passes like he did in Penn State game and the Rose Bowl.
Dante could not beat out Ethan Garbers. If UW and Demond get together, you will have a much better UW team. UW is the team to beat. We could not get anyone in late last year when we hired Jedd, late. We had a lot against us. See what happens when we are not gutted as a program. Demond is better than Dante. Hands down.
I love Demond and the Huskies will certainly be exciting, but I believe the ceiling is higher for Dante than Demons. Dante was thrown into the fire right away at UCLA and they didn't stick with him. A year at Oregon learning and with the weapons he will have to play with bodes well for Moore.
Mid 3rd quarter, Ducks were down 34-15, if they scored there and it was 34-21 after 3, things become very different, but Buckeyes shut that down really quick.

This is one Duck fan that honestly believes this is peak Oregon Football. Dont think they can build a team with enough longevity to win in the playoffs/Natty against the traditional powerhouses. Same group of teams keep winning the Natty since the BCS with a couple exceptions. Be happy going 11-1, 12-2 with some B1G Championships and dont have hopes for the playoffs-
I dont think Oregon will ever get enough of the type players needed to sustain a Natty run. We might have 5 “5 star” players but Ohio St, Georgia, Alabama, (you know the teams) will have 10 or more on both sides of the ball. They have it where it matters the most and Those teams when peaking are just tough to beat. So Oregon being 13-1 and B1G Champs, I believe is as good as it will get.

Nonsense.
i can agree with you on this
@@BetterDays-e8hwow hating on multiple channels? must suck being an unemployed loser sitting in your parents basement with absolutely nothing going for you in life. have fun projecting your self hatred on oregon😂
I’ve enjoyed every episode, thank you Ted for your outstanding coverage on the Ducks and on the B1G. Looking forward to watching for.
Good Ducks 🦆
34-0 before halftime
I envy that you live in Oregon, such a beautiful state.
@@BigTenTed Beautiful if you can stand 9 to 10 months of grey overcast and drizzle per year, not to mention having the Ducks crammed down your throat most of that time as well.
@@BigTenTed Apparently ou've only ever spent time in the western-most part of Oregon. The majority of the state is a hot wasteland with very little population in it.
@@MarkMay-cr6bva wasteland??? Most of Oregon is beautiful.
Thank you B1G Ted your a class act
What's good Tony? Always good to see the SportsChat familia in the BTT comments.
BIG 10 taking all the money pots this year and the years to come.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Everyone wants instant gratification. It takes time to build a great team. Dan will get it done.
I still say we are not stuck in this new conference with you, you are stuck in here with us and we are going nowhere but up
Two steps forward one step back. Ducks will be just fine. Ride or die with Lanning
Oregon has some of the best coaches, some of the best players, some of the best resources a 13-0 season
with the B1G conference title and still can't get it done... there's no place to go but down.
Thanks Big 10 Ted
Thanks for trying to cheer up the fan, but this season was unexpectedly amazing and if they were this good this time, they will never go this far again
I have always thought Dan Lanning was two years away from fielding his dominant team!
WE NEVER GIVE UP!!!
you’re making me less sad
I'm so proud of the ducks and coach Dan. We will get over the hump some year. Go Ducks
@BigTenTed you think Penn St is in over Texas? I think it would have been Oregon, Georgia, Notre Dame, and Texas.
The trajectory is right. Wait until next year.
I believe that 6 years Kirby Smart did it in is the quickest any head coach has done it in. It was 10 years for Saban's first from what I've heard
It's funny you're talking about.Oregon ducks and dan landing but nfl wanted him
🦆💪🏽🦆💪🏽🦆
Oregon is college football’s Minnesota Vikings. Painful finishes with often a lot of fun in terms of overall wins and losses long-term.
And it's.
Funny oregon beat all of the big ten schools this year
I do not like the playoff settings. I think leaving it top 4 teams so these other teams who have cake walks to get into the playoffs do not make it in.
Oregon scored 59 in a playoff game once after a full month off. That whole bye week excuse is BS
Oregon is losing a ton of experience going into next season. I think the team will be good, but not as good as this season. It's a more favorable schedule, but the lack of experience will show
Depends on who they bring in and also who comes off the bench playing their best.
nope they will rule big whatever again
Wrong... the talent will be an upgrade
Well it should be helpful that next year you won't face either OSU or Michigan.
Air fare for 6… 6 game tickets…air bnb for 6….rental car and a dumb 5 grand bet on the game im so disgusted bro smh
34-0 before halftime. Rightfully so. Not prepared. Not even remotely entertaining. A loss totally understandable, that 💩 of an effort, absolutely not, never. We can have expectations and they were not competitors, have no right to ask anything of fan base.
How much did Phil Kniggett spend on that debacle? Could that money have been better spent on food and clean water for children and families in need?
Fire Lupoi; that was a horrific display of coaching and was flat out unacceptable. He’s got to go.
You should apply for his job. This whole fire couches after a loss is just silly.
NAW
They hit their peak and will be descending in Mark Helfrich territory
Here's the narrative: CHIP KELLY GETS THE MVP, HE SCHOOLED DAN & crew !!!
big O stands for zero CHAMPIONSHIPS !!!! THANKS DAN & CREW
Then find another team to root for.
A year at Oregon learning and with the weapons he will have to play with bodes well for Moore.
g5 qb not happening
My message to Big Ten Ted. 34-0 before halftime. Lanning signed off on the plan and players-and it was 34-0 before halftime. Nonsense.
And you’ve still lost to Michigan 4 years in a row.
i agree100% it was to obvious , the playing in game 1&2 just didnt add up not even close 🤔
they were cooking a little bit at the start of the 3rd quarter and end of 2nd, then they blew it and put the bucks on the 50 yard line
Mid 3rd quarter, Ducks were down 34-15, if they scored there and it was 34-21 after 3, things become very different, but Buckeyes shut that down really quick.
@@BigTenTed i was there. the oregon fans were actually starting to get loud when they scored the 2nd td, the bucks shut us up real quick though
Lanning owes Duck fans an apology. His coaching was abysmal.

The game at Penn State will be tough, but they avoid Ohio State and Michigan in the regular season and draw some decent teams at Autzen.
We know the Ducks aren't going anywhere lol we know!
Neither are the Raiders lol
BOOOOOOO!!
This is one Duck fan that honestly believes this is peak Oregon Football. Dont think they can build a team with enough longevity to win in the playoffs/Natty against the traditional powerhouses. Same group of teams keep winning the Natty since the BCS with a couple exceptions. Be happy going 11-1, 12-2 with some B1G Championships and dont have hopes for the playoffs-
Why do you believe this is the peak?
I dont think Oregon will ever get enough of the type players needed to sustain a Natty run. We might have 5 “5 star” players but Ohio St, Georgia, Alabama, (you know the teams) will have 10 or more on both sides of the ball. They have it where it matters the most and Those teams when peaking are just tough to beat. So Oregon being 13-1 and B1G Champs, I believe is as good as it will get.
I feel bad for the Oregon basketball fans. That was pretty rough last night!
I actually caught some of that game, first basketball game I watched this year. Illinois just couldn't miss.
