    WOW! now I can hear the differences that recording space setting and type of mic, didn't know there are so many plug-ins in AUDITION to make voice over differently. I learnt a lot!

    Absolutely begins and ends with your environment. Always start with your room treatment first.

    Absolutely amazing video. Thanks a lot for a valuable lesson! Been fiddling around with new acoustic panels I bought realizing (not so) soon enough that they don't help my situation that much and or I don't know where to place them properly :D

    Thanks for the video Lenny! I'm using DIY accoustic panels in my bedroom (walls and ceiling). It's perfect with my NT-1000.

    lenny i like your voice it sounds great.. what mic are you using? and how do you mix your vocals to get this amaizing sound.

      The microphone used in this video is a Neumann TLM 103. As the video explains, acoustic treatment on the walls of your recording space is most important to get the sound you're after. The microphone is not as important as the room treatment.

    Mr. Lenny B, if the initial “small adjustments” (with replacing the first microphone, changing to 90-degrees angle, & moving around the acoustic-foam) were not possible, could some of the noise removal tools from Izotope Post Production Suite been the next best option at (1) removing the noticeable room tone/room reverb in the vocal recording?
    NOTE: Regarding the noise removal tools from Izotope Post Production Suite, I’m referring to using- and placing- the noise removal tools at the very first stage of the plugin side-chain (before the EQ, before the Compressor, etc.).

      Hi Lorenzo, yes they could be used. However, you'll always get a better result by resolving the problem (in the recording space) rather than masking the problem with a restoration plugin. I usually put any restoration plugins first in the chain. Hope that helps! Thanks for watching.

    Lenny, if you wanted to make sure improvements would you recommend Audacity, GarageBand, or only the plugins you mentioned here?

    • @HeyLennyB
      @HeyLennyB  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi @tinlylittlefilms3042, I'd need to hear your audio to be sure, but I would say this. I would say the DAW doesn't matter to ensure room improvements sound the best possible. Mic choice and plugins would help optimize the most after room treatment. Acoustic treatment is the most significant factor! I hope that answers your question.

      What do you think of the Auralex EditMAX kits for voice overs. Could this be used with nice bass traps in a small room or would you recommend only broadband acoustic panels for best results?

    • @HeyLennyB

      From my experience, it's ALL about the Broadband absorbers. By the way, I have a new course on the subject in the next several weeks.

      No. I have a large portion of my room covered. However, there are a few walls and a window that is not.
