    One of my favourite Kit Kat is a regional flavour edition from Kyushu and Okinawa - beni-imo (red sweet potato). I bought a pack in Kagoshima Airport, and it was surprisingly lovely.

      Ooh yes I tried that one! Really want to try more sweet potato things! :-)

    Ah! That hello kitty plane looks amazing! It's not just the outside that's hello kitty themed, it inside is too! It only goes on set courses and the closest you can get it from the UK is Paris... I wanna go on it so bad!

      +Tegan_Rose Wow!! Just looked it up - I didn't realise the inside was themed as well! And you get a Hello Kitty bento as the meal, how cute is that!

    Great video! Did you ever find the other Kit Kat store in Tokyo station? I got Hokkaido Melon and Kyoho Grape flavoured Kit Kats at Narita Airport and they were delicious! Unfortunately I didn't see them in the boxes like the ones you saw at Haneda.

    • @cakeswithfaces
      @cakeswithfaces  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The other Kitkat shop's in Sweets Street in Tokyo Station - there are only a couple of shops in that section so it shouldn't be too hard to find. I love the melon flavour - it tastes quite realistic and less artificial than other Japanese melon flavours (although I do like them all!). Haven't tried grape - sounds good!

    • @FearItself187
      @FearItself187 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cool, thanks for that! I'm planning on going back in January and I am disproportionately excited about looking for different Kit Kats again! Agreed on the melon Kit Kat, I found the grape one was similar in that a lot of grape flavoured things tend to be overly sweet, but these were really nice. Thanks again for the reply!

      If you're going to Akihabara, look up "Radio Kaikan" on Google Maps. It's right by JR Akihabara Station. On the ground floor, go to Gift Shop The Akiba - they always have several flavours. There are also several branches of Okashi no Machioka around Tokyo, that's a good place to look (lots of other interesting sweets and snacks too!).

    • @FearItself187
      @FearItself187 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nice, thank you! I was planning on going to Akihabara, so that's really handy to know. I'll check out some Okashi no Machioka stores, definitely interested in seeing what other snacks are around. I think I'll have to grab some of that giant rainbow Pocky you showed in the video as well!

    • @cakeswithfaces
      @cakeswithfaces  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My current fav is Kinoko no Yama and Takenoko no Sato. The regular ones are good, but they have seasonal special flavours - the maple ones at the moment are delicious!

    Hi! Where would you say is the cheapest place to buy kitkats at? Thanks.

    • @cakeswithfaces
      @cakeswithfaces  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      danny abella They're not that cheap anywhere - in convenience stores it's about £1 for a box with 3 small packs of two fingers. Probably Don Quixote or Okashi no Machioka (there are several branches - definitely one in Shinjuku & Nakano Broadway)

  • @GirlinTokyo

    where's the cheapest to buy kitkats? In Don Quijote? I'll be in Tokyo this November. Arigato!

    • @cakeswithfaces
      @cakeswithfaces  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, probably Don Quijote actually! Also look out for Okashi no Machioka (several branches - look on Google Maps) and Gift Shop the Akiba on the ground floor of Radio Kaikan (there's also one in Odaiba).

  • @B.Mamentu
    @B.Mamentu 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    So, which shops has the most items at reasonable price ?

    • @cakeswithfaces
      @cakeswithfaces  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      B. Mamentu Best price is Don Quixote or Okashi no Machioka. Both have several branches. Biggest selection is probably the Daiba gift shop in Odaiba (from there you can also hit up Okashi no Machioka nearby). People say Sweets Street in Tokyo Station has the best selection but I couldn't find them. The airport has lots but you have to buy in bulk.

    Is the KitKat store in Tokyo Station easy to find? And does it have all the flavors that are available in Tokyo? Is it worth the trip?

    • @cakeswithfaces
      @cakeswithfaces  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I actually couldn’t find the one everyone talks about in Sweets Street in Tokyo Station. The one I found there was the Kitkat Chocolatory, which has upmarket, more expensive Kitkats. The best place for lots of flavours is probably the airport before the go home! If you go to Akihabara, check the gift shop on the ground floor of Radio Kaikan (by the Station) and Don Quixote (big famous shop) will have a couple of flavours too.

    • @georgebenta3435
      @georgebenta3435 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@cakeswithfaces What other things can you see at Tokyo Station? Does it have its own mall?

    • @cakeswithfaces
      @cakeswithfaces  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@georgebenta3435 It's huge! There are lots of shops and restaurants underground (the same is true for many of the larger stations in Tokyo). They often have department stores attached too. The special ones at Tokyo Station are Ramen Street (a collection of ramen restaurants), Sweets Street (smaller - just a couple of sweets shops) & Character Street (with cute character merchandise shops). They're also known as First Avenue.

  • @georgebenta3435
    @georgebenta3435 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Is it more expensive to buy chocolates at the airport? or is it better to buy at stores in the city?

    • @cakeswithfaces
      @cakeswithfaces  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's cheaper in the city at Don Quijote or Okashi no Machioka. What varies is the flavours available - they don't stock all the flavours everywhere so you might see one at the airport that you haven't spotted before! At the airport they have larger, bulk boxes of 10 packs, whereas elsewhere they tend to have bags of the little bars.
