    You need to put up a dedicated hook for your wedding ring so when you take it off in the wook shop you always put it in the same place. That way you don't loose you ring when you take it off! 👍👍

    Been thinking about doing a ring. Thanks for the video. Tip: I like to wet my micromesh on plastic projects (CA I guess counts). The grit doesn’t clog and it polishes better. Also keeps the surface cooler, if that would really matter here.

    Do you have a favorite lathe chuck or brand of chuck you like to use?

      Timothy Mulvaney The place the ring kit came from carries it as does pretty much any woodworking store. It’s called turners tape. Make sure your don’t use carpet tape as the adhesion level is way to high.
      If you are turning a delicate piece and are concerned about breaking it when you remove it from the tape use a syringe and dribble acetone on it. Just protect the lathe bed from it as the acetone and tape mix can make the bed a little sticky.

    Try using Yorkshire Grit then YG Microfine instead of all those micromeshes. It'll save you loads of time and give as good or better finish. You'll get it from The Walnut Log at www.thewalnutlog.com/

    • @woodturningwithtimyoder
      @woodturningwithtimyoder  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have a tub of microfine but could not find the regular. I know it is in the shop somewhere but it managed to avoid my efforts to find it. I needed the regular to get the microfine to work. I tried just the microfine but it could not reach a high polish as the surface was too rough. That is why I went the other way with the micromesh and polish. Once I find my other tub I will use it on the show.
