You coulda just shut the plant for one day. One day. But nooooo, you had to move just one more widget off the assembly line. Now three people, possibly six, are dead. Your company's in the news for all the wrong reasons. And by the time the TBI, TOSHA, and everyone's lawyers are done with you, you'll be bankrupt and possibly in jail. Still worth it?

"We never explicitly stated that we'd fire people for leaving," is the most unhinged shit for a company to say. The fact that they were even told to be there in the first place says enough... nevermind while they're seeing evacuation notices on their phone, a loss of power and flood waters rising in the parkinglot. The fact that no one evacuated that damn building when the power went out speals volumes.

I hope the surviving families sue this company into oblivion. There are no excuses for what happened. None.

With any job, if you ask to leave and your manager says “no” then the idea that you might be fired if you leave is implied. The manager does not need to actually say “you might be fired if you leave”. It is commonly understood that that is what is implied when a manager says “no” after an employee asks for permission to go home.

And the company has enough money to hire a P.R. firm to cover up their evil actions.

Boss Hog O’Connor needs to be in jail. The fact that he mentioned nothing in his video about the loss of life only that nobody died on his property tells us all we need to know about this POS.

THE HIGHER UPS IN THIS COMPANY WERE NO WHERE TO BE FOUND AND PROBABLY EVACUATED A DAY OR TWO BEFORE THE FLOODING STARTED.

If the power is off machinery doesn’t work so what idiot boss made this bad decision to keep employees there. Management needs to answer for this and should face criminal charges.

Well of course they aren't going to admit fault, but the investigation will hopefully prove their guilt. My heart breaks for the employees and their families ❤😢

Not to be a protagonist but common sense plays a major role in survival. My ass would have been outta there regardless what the boss said. Adios, Mo-fo and have a nice swim is what that manager would have heard from me. Why wait like a sitting duck? They can not fire people for anything like this. That is an instant lawsuit. Unfortunately, a lot of folks will get nothing in suits etc; because this is an act of God and the insurance companies will even play that card. Just like they are by saying to home owners that you didn't have flood insurance. Myorkas has stated FEMA is out of money too. Why? Because this Biden Harris admin has cleaned that funding out giving it to illegals already. FACT! That's who you should be pissed at. And whatever boss not letting folks go but they will get nailed with lawsuits and criminal charges. Your elected officials UNTOUCHED for stealing FEMA money and giving it to illegals totally screwing the AMERICAN taxpayers that need help. FJB and FKH!

You are so unhinged and ill-informed. But what else would I expect from someone who thinks the illegals are stealing all of FEMA’s federal funding. Enjoy it when Trump loses. Because his next stop is convictions in state and federal courts.

It doesnt matter if they might have had a legal case against the employer after they chose to leave ; bringing a suit requires levels of money that these residents likely cannot even begin to consider. Many barely live paycheck to paycheck for fuel and food for families.

The owner is conducting an investigation on himself as to why he wouldn't let them go home or close the plant for the day.

That CEO really makes me think of Bob Murray, the mining baron who was completely callous after his mine collapsed trapping workers after he had safety violations. (John Oliver talked about that callous guy in a video titled “coal” put out by Last Week Tonight, for anyone that saw it before but wants to refresh their memory).

No job is worth that kind of treatment. I want to know if the people in charge left early. She said there was no power. I would have left if there was no power.

Another psychopathic Republican business owner. These people are utterly craven. I hope Gerald O’Connor is charged with six counts of negligent homicide.

Hold on, they kept them working until escape was impossible, but they'd have assurance they'd not die at the work site? Isn't that obvious?
