Individual wheel accumulater’s. McLaren doesn’t play. Very interesting. The $$$zeros have to be big. Very precision. Is this a recall or an upgrade. Great video. Thx
Yes , this is upgrading. They are bigger capacity than 720s original. And original is failed anyway. The Kinetic suspension is old design from Toyota Land Cruiser. Very smart and works well - specially for corners
Hello, very interesting video, thanks. I did read in the McLaren upgrade procedure to the new (765lt) accumulators a new software needs to be installed into the body module as the new spring loaded accumulators behave different to the gas pressured ones. What is your opinion?
Just give you idea - the system hydraulic pressure is still the same. Nothing changed ,except bigger volume accumulators . System still use three different pressure settings 20bar , 24bar and 32bar . 👍
When you charge the system does it automatically bleed with Leonardo tool? What about software re program for the 765 accumulators? Thanks for any help
You can by and upload many super and hyper car brands and models . Check their online store at www.leonardodiagnostictool.com We use for Mclaren MDS and Leonardo
Thank you for posting. Given that 650S and 720s use the same accumulators, possible to do this on a 650S? Looking for ways to get out of McLaren working suspension subscription where the accumulators all fail after a few years.
I just had this upgrade done by a shop that specializes in Mclarens, you have to bleed down the entire system and install the new software, the job is just not bolt on.
Did McLaren shop tell you - after software update and bleeding entire system required to replacing all 4 coil springs , strut mounts and Ride Height Level Sensors on back ? If not -The job is not done proper :)))) (joke) P.S. no worries , we do accumulators upgrade at least 4-5 time per months - no issue at all , only happy customers
Bad job: now you have introduced air in the system, which will lower the stiffness of the accumulators and reduce the response of the suspension! There is no way the air trapped in the new accumulators will go back to the oil tank. In the factory and in the McLaren workshops, the hydraulic system is filled under vacuum to avoid any presence of air in the hydraulic lines.
Well, I am working in the R&D of the supplier of the suspension system, so I know very well how it functions and what are the conditions that are needed so that it works properly.
@@Samural1 this is the answer- you just know about it , we do it many times and don't have any problems . Many our customers happy and give us a great feedback You can spend on bleeding machine big money and have the same results as we have.
I hope your the janitor at this r&d place. You think they put the car in a vacuum chamber and then have robots install all the hydraulics or maybe a tech puts a nasa suit on to change accumulators. This is why there is a bleed procedure to get air out of system. This video was done well and service done well. You need to get more experience before commenting on anything technical.
I'm a plasterer in England, we do things daily to the plaster to get a good result which is not in the structions, which the manufacturer would say not to do.
Perfect timing, now I can enjoy my dinner while watching some beautiful car maintenance, thank you! From Canada, Toronto :)
Thank you! 🙏

Tanks s lot for the insight information. It is a great TH-cam channel.

Yes , We use Leonardo or MDS
Is this scanner access to only mclaren cars ?

Never tried. Is good idea 👍
How much does it cost for the whole process?
Around $2500

Just curious- how many times you did upgrade/replace pressure accumulator on Mclaren ?
