This looks really good. My Vantop h612t lasted 1 year and 11 months before it started dying. I just got a replacement for it today and installed again, shocked by the good customer service. For my next car I would like to upgrade to a better one so I’ll just keep this one for the meantime. What do you think is the best rearview mirror dashcam out right now? Price isn’t an issue for me, I prefer video quality and durability. Would also be cool if any had an app where I can watch live footage any time

I know google spies on me so it sent me your video. I sent my old Rexing back to waranty company be it died on me after 2 yrs. I was thinking about getting a new one and saw this random video. I have a new favorite. 1) Why did you make the wolf brand your favorite mirror over RedTiger? 2) Does it come with enough wire to get the camera in the backseat power, etc on the front camer? 3) This is the model that doesn't use batteries? What is the max size SD card will it fit? will it fit a 512gb? 4) Do you have a video on how you stuck the rear camera on? Most people have a glass that is flat or angled. This means the camera will be pointing down at the seat. In order for the camera to see straight back, it needds to be mounted from top. Most all vehicles have close on the top. So how are we supposed to do this? You should have shown how you attached your rear camera.

Regarding length it's about 21ft long as show in the video at the 3:40 mark. Regarding battery, correct, as I explained on the video there is no battery on this one. Hi TonyDaFish! thank you bud! ah I think you are looking for a clean LCD screen just showing the video itself without distractions? if so I have not seen one that does that, some let you turn off the date or compass but they all will show some type of indicator. The GPS can be turned off on some but for the most part the easiest way to disable it is not to connect it at all (I have several viewers who omit theirs for privacy reasons) But if I do run into one that let's you turn off all indicators I will let you know bud!

How to connect dash camera to my laptop? I didnt find any usb port / Or i should always remove the sd card to copy data from my T27 to laptop which is not convenient always..So what are all the options?
Hi Lyric at 30s! Correct, the memory card can be removed to download the video onto a computer. Some dash cams do let you connect them to the computer directly (using the same USB ports used for charging) However I find it a lot easier to remove the memory than to remove the entire dash cam (which would require dismounting it and also disconnecting all the cables from it and the remounting it and reconnecting all the cables when done) Hope this helps, Cheers!

Thanks BLAZE! ah good question, it comes down to your car's harmonics and suspension. So I see vibrations vary quite a bit from vehicle to vehicle, some have really smooth idle and acceleration and some don't. Same with suspension (including tire setup) some cars are set for comfort and vibrations are minimal but some cars are tuned to be sportier and vibrations are more pronounced in the interior of the vehicle (specially in bumpy roads). Hi Dario! ah both are good choices but here are some key differences the T27 includes a vertical mount bracket for the rear camera (needed if mounting it on a truck or other car with a vertical rear windshield) the D90 does not include this bracket. The D90 supports 256gb of memory, the T27 supports up to 128gb. The T27 uses USB C vs the USB Mini on the D90. And finally you want to also compare prices, sometimes one is on sale or one of them has a coupon available. Hope this helps!

A little confused. Would a dedicated power source enable the parking monitor and would it draw that much? Could we glue the GPS sensor to the roof under the headliner and have it still work? By the way, great video.

I’m looking for a rear camera mount for outside of the car or inside. I drive a 2017 Jetta so the trunk lid interior is hard to access. Hi takenoshortcuts! The F7N and T27 dash cams are very different products in two different categories. The T27 is a mirror dash cam and the F7N is a classic stick style dash cam. Each one has it's advantages and disadvantages inherent from the packaging style. Some people love mirror dash cams some don't and prefer a more traditional dash cam. Which has better quality as a rear mirror cam, this one or Wolfbox g850? I got the g850 but hate it as a rear mirror cam, it looks better with the cam off.

I think they perform very similarly, remember while the dash will record in high resolution, the display we see it thru (the LCD mirror) only shows us a portion of it (1920x440 out of the total possible of 1920X1080) which is partly due to the screen ratio (seeing the image in a very wide screen monitor). But I think you are right, while many people love mirror dashcams some do not due to the image quality at night as video technology has not come close to that of an actual mirror. I will keep an eye out of for the next jump in technology when it comes to the rear camera on mirror dash cams, if I do see one that stands out, I will let you know bud, Hope this helps, Cheers!

Hi Hector! ah yes, part of the issue again is the limitations on current dash cams for the rear camera (being capped at FHD since they connect to the dash cam using Analog HD) which limits both resolution and video quality where the front camera can directly interface to the video image processor which give us much better performance and quality as there much bandwidth for resolution, frame rate etc. For example on the T27 we get the IMX415 processor on the front which is a 8.29 Mega Pixel sensor but for the rear were are capped with an standard FHD sensor topping out at 2.1M Pixels so we have only a fraction of the video quality that we have in the front where we have almost 4 times as many pixels for image capture. Does this RedTiger T27 Mirror DashCam use a capacitor power source instead of a lithium ion battery? I am quite concerned about lithium battery swelling/degradation over time (in other units) since I live in a very sunny high desert area of the country and am concerned about possible summer fires in my vehicles that mostly live outdoors. Are there other mirror dashcams available with the power capacitor design? Is there major difference between 11in and 12in mirror like the g850? Or it is almost the same? How Abt switching off the screen is the mirror super clear or not?
Hi DRBaathman! ah the best way to see the difference is to take a ruler and place it on top of your existing mirror, this way you can get an idea of what size will work best for you (and more importantly see if the new LCD mirror will interfere with your car sun visors). Hi Whazzzup! correct current dash cams are capped at FHD for the rear camera since they use AHD 2.0 for signal transfer so dash cams with WQHD are upscaling the video to boost the image resolution (or as some people say, make the video crispier LOL) The same company that developed AHD has started working on 3.0 which is expected to handle higher resolutions, so hopefully they will release that within the new few years and then dash cams will begin adopting that technology not long after that. It seems like the tech may all come from the same OEM and maybe use the same sensor on the same software or some mix thereof. If you have access to this information in your review it would be helpful to know that this is basically that camera with a different widget or something like that.
@@user-ty2uz4gb7v Hi 1 2! ah yes! mirror dash cams share the same form factor (mirror shape, some are rectangular some trapezoid) and also share components as the components come from different manufacturers, for example imagining sensors typically come from Sony, the processor typically comes from HiSilicon (these are just the main two I see often, there are other suppliers of sensors, processors and other components internally). Some dash cam manufacturers will include this information in their listing but some unfortunately do not share the internal component's source. @@DRBaathman Yeah the rear cameras seem to perform about the same in terms of resolution when viewed full screen. Tthis is partly due to the rear cameras in todays dash cams using AHD which currently maxes out at FHD (non compressed), so it's likely that the 2.5K resolution from the rear is obtained by upscaling. What seems to be larger driving factors in image quality between them is the different sensors, lenses and software being used to process the image. That being said when viewed thru the dash cam display, they both seem almost identical (remember the LCD screen is the bottleneck here, since mirror dash cams have a horizontal resolution as low as 320 pixels out of the possible 1080 pixels in FHD or out of the 1440 in QHD) Hope this helps, Cheers!

@@DRBaathman Hi DRBaatham! ah I'm not sure what dash cam you are using but it could be your cigarette lighter port, on most it turns off with the car so the dash cam will turn off and not drain the battery but on a few cars the cigarette lighter will stay on all the time even when the car is off. This means the dash cam will stay on as well potentially draining your battery. So I would start by checking that cigarette plug to see which type it is. Hope this helps, Cheers!

Hi juls! this dash cam does not pull power from the car when the car is off so the battery will not drain (assuming your cigarettes lighter port turns off with the car) However if you want to keep the dash cam on while parked (for park monitoring) the hardwire kit here th-cam.com/video/OyQs8X7H56o/w-d-xo.html can be used (it has low voltage protection, which means it will turn off power to the dash cam before the battery voltage gets too low) Hope this helps, Cheers!

@@khalilrazak6486 Hi Khalil! in my opinion I don't really care for WiFi because I would only use it download the video in case of an accident (which is rare) that being said for some people WiFi is a must have as they don't want to hassle with taking the memory card out or may be they don't have access to a computer to playback the video. So I think it's gonna depend on how you want to use the dash cam. This looks really good. My Vantop h612t lasted 1 year and 11 months before it started dying. I just got a replacement for it today and installed again, shocked by the good customer service. For my next car I would like to upgrade to a better one so I’ll just keep this one for the meantime. What do you think is the best rearview mirror dashcam out right now? I know google spies on me so it sent me your video. I sent my old Rexing back to waranty company be it died on me after 2 yrs. I was thinking about getting a new one and saw this random video. I have a new favorite. 1) Why did you make the wolf brand your favorite mirror over RedTiger? 2) Does it come with enough wire to get the camera in the backseat power, etc on the front camer? 3) This is the model that doesn't use batteries? What is the max size SD card will it fit? will it fit a 512gb? 4) Do you have a video on how you stuck the rear camera on? Most people have a glass that is flat or angled. This means the camera will be pointing down at the seat. In order for the camera to see straight back, it needds to be mounted from top. Most all vehicles have close on the top. So how are we supposed to do this? You should have shown how you attached your rear camera.

Hi TonyDaFish! thank you bud! ah I think you are looking for a clean LCD screen just showing the video itself without distractions? if so I have not seen one that does that, some let you turn off the date or compass but they all will show some type of indicator. The GPS can be turned off on some but for the most part the easiest way to disable it is not to connect it at all (I have several viewers who omit theirs for privacy reasons) But if I do run into one that let's you turn off all indicators I will let you know bud!

Hi Lyric at 30s! Correct, the memory card can be removed to download the video onto a computer. Some dash cams do let you connect them to the computer directly (using the same USB ports used for charging) However I find it a lot easier to remove the memory than to remove the entire dash cam (which would require dismounting it and also disconnecting all the cables from it and the remounting it and reconnecting all the cables when done) Hope this helps, Cheers!

Thanks BLAZE! ah good question, it comes down to your car's harmonics and suspension. So I see vibrations vary quite a bit from vehicle to vehicle, some have really smooth idle and acceleration and some don't. Same with suspension (including tire setup) some cars are set for comfort and vibrations are minimal but some cars are tuned to be sportier and vibrations are more pronounced in the interior of the vehicle (specially in bumpy roads). Hi Dario! ah both are good choices but here are some key differences the T27 includes a vertical mount bracket for the rear camera (needed if mounting it on a truck or other car with a vertical rear windshield) the D90 does not include this bracket. The D90 supports 256gb of memory, the T27 supports up to 128gb. The T27 uses USB C vs the USB Mini on the D90. And finally you want to also compare prices, sometimes one is on sale or one of them has a coupon available. Hope this helps!

Which has better quality as a rear mirror cam, this one or Wolfbox g850? I got the g850 but hate it as a rear mirror cam, it looks better with the cam off.

I think they perform very similarly, remember while the dash will record in high resolution, the display we see it thru (the LCD mirror) only shows us a portion of it (1920x440 out of the total possible of 1920X1080) which is partly due to the screen ratio (seeing the image in a very wide screen monitor). But I think you are right, while many people love mirror dashcams some do not due to the image quality at night as video technology has not come close to that of an actual mirror. I will keep an eye out of for the next jump in technology when it comes to the rear camera on mirror dash cams, if I do see one that stands out, I will let you know bud, Hope this helps, Cheers!

Hi Hector! ah yes, part of the issue again is the limitations on current dash cams for the rear camera (being capped at FHD since they connect to the dash cam using Analog HD) which limits both resolution and video quality where the front camera can directly interface to the video image processor which give us much better performance and quality as there much bandwidth for resolution, frame rate etc. For example on the T27 we get the IMX415 processor on the front which is a 8.29 Mega Pixel sensor but for the rear were are capped with an standard FHD sensor topping out at 2.1M Pixels so we have only a fraction of the video quality that we have in the front where we have almost 4 times as many pixels for image capture. Does this RedTiger T27 Mirror DashCam use a capacitor power source instead of a lithium ion battery? Hi Whazzzup! correct current dash cams are capped at FHD for the rear camera since they use AHD 2.0 for signal transfer so dash cams with WQHD are upscaling the video to boost the image resolution (or as some people say, make the video crispier LOL) The same company that developed AHD has started working on 3.0 which is expected to handle higher resolutions, so hopefully they will release that within the new few years and then dash cams will begin adopting that technology not long after that. It seems like the tech may all come from the same OEM and maybe use the same sensor on the same software or some mix thereof. Some dash cam manufacturers will include this information in their listing but some unfortunately do not share the internal component's source. Does it have Dimming IRVM function in night?

this is like g900 2.5 rear camera however in your 850 review it sound more clearer than here

I tried to open both videos at the same time watching the rear camera in both .I see g850 better resolution than this one although this one is 2.5
@@DRBaathman Yeah the rear cameras seem to perform about the same in terms of resolution when viewed full screen. Tthis is partly due to the rear cameras in todays dash cams using AHD which currently maxes out at FHD (non compressed), so it's likely that the 2.5K resolution from the rear is obtained by upscaling. What seems to be larger driving factors in image quality between them is the different sensors, lenses and software being used to process the image. That being said when viewed thru the dash cam display, they both seem almost identical (remember the LCD screen is the bottleneck here, since mirror dash cams have a horizontal resolution as low as 320 pixels out of the possible 1080 pixels in FHD or out of the 1440 in QHD) Hope this helps, Cheers!

Now regarding the power my car GMC Acadia keep juicing the mirror even when I switch off does this mean I need to but that kit to connect it to the battery instead of the charger

@@DRBaathman Hi DRBaatham! ah I'm not sure what dash cam you are using but it could be your cigarette lighter port, on most it turns off with the car so the dash cam will turn off and not drain the battery but on a few cars the cigarette lighter will stay on all the time even when the car is off. This means the dash cam will stay on as well potentially draining your battery. So I would start by checking that cigarette plug to see which type it is. Hope this helps, Cheers!

Would appreciate an in-depth review of the rear camera performance at night time to see if things like headlights from cars behind are too distracting to use it as a full-time digital rearview mirror, as I’ve had that issue before with other mirrors. Probably drains the battery quick
Hi juls! this dash cam does not pull power from the car when the car is off so the battery will not drain (assuming your cigarettes lighter port turns off with the car) However if you want to keep the dash cam on while parked (for park monitoring) the hardwire kit here th-cam.com/video/OyQs8X7H56o/w-d-xo.html can be used (it has low voltage protection, which means it will turn off power to the dash cam before the battery voltage gets too low) Hope this helps, Cheers!
Front hood obstructing in video clip not good
Hi Ios! The obstruction you see on the passenger side is the cover for the ADAS system on my car, while it does not bother me some people do prefer an unobstructed view. @@khalilrazak6486 Hi Khalil! in my opinion I don't really care for WiFi because I would only use it download the video in case of an accident (which is rare) that being said for some people WiFi is a must have as they don't want to hassle with taking the memory card out or may be they don't have access to a computer to playback the video. So I think it's gonna depend on how you want to use the dash cam. The other big difference as pointed on the video is the Zoom capability on the T27, same deal, for some people this is a must have and to others they probably won't use it. Hope this helps, Cheers!
