and to this day they dont have a real multiplayer where everything is in sync. to many things are totally different between players even in the same friend group when they playing.
this is also why it has so less players ,because its a massive singleplayer where everything needs extra time.
The fact that this is just part 1 is insane

in addition to your comments i just wish for more that is already being there. HelloGames especially with this update wants us to explore. So we need valuables to hunt for. Could be materials, tools, weapons or even blueprints with new stuff (buildings for ex.)
I mean rare sh't, that is hard to find and not only good for selling.
This may be the best modern day game ever simply for the fact that they released it broken and unfinished but never quit working on it and have never charged a dime for every new major overhaul and update. It's crazy how much Hello Games has given back without asking for anything.
Id love truly DEEP oceans with trenches, waterfalls, rivers, and gas giants!

One of my favorite terrain mods made deeper oceans and more interesting cave systems, and I hope that can be modded to the new system if it's not already in.

@@wolfwing1abyss sorta was that several years ago, but only one leviathan type creature that only spawns after you harvest the hadal cores is not as hype as a free roaming HUGE leviathan
I've wanted genuinely deep oceans forever now. When I say deep I mean likes pitch black down there and theirs some bioluminecent animals.
I am playing in VR only and if you are sitting in front of a flat screen you are missing more than you can imagine.

I have considered PSVR 2 someday as I've owned NMS day one and just need a completely new perspective and reason for loving the game. Is VR truly a game changer? I expect it to be quite blurry and finicky to operate 🤷♂️

Universe is not reset, at least not the terrain. Terrain is unchanged (mentioned specifically in the detailed patch notes).
I have an ocean base that serves as the HQ of my trading company. My sea is green now and so gorgeous.

Thank you for actual accurate coverage of the update, so many big nms influencers made incorrect assumptions and got loads wrong reading the patchnotes.
This update is so awesome but I do have an issue with it. Some planets I already have descovere have completely changed. This one planet I had found had small forest spread around it with medium sized trees and rocks. Now its just a few big glowing mushrooms. I've found other cases similar to this. But there is a lot of beauty this update brings

Havent played No Mans Sky in years and was shocked reinstalling it yesterday. There was so much going on. Firstly the oceans looks gorgeous and you can even dive into it. Then i experienced something i thought was a huge volcano eruption but turned out to be a gigantic sand worm. Then the weather affects.... was blown away.
I love the update. So many new awesome aspects... But... A base I spent absolutely ages building and perfecting now has an island on top of and all the way through it. Proper gutted about that
Great video. I was pleasantly surprised at the flora and fauna editions. Currently not playing on the most high-end system, so I can't really snaz out the graphical fidelity, but with what I am seeing I am very impressed. Some glitches for sure; Zendesk has seen me a few times, but from such a small team delivering such a big game, I can live with it.
HG are total chads for their dedication
Okay, I found some useful data to contribute to the cause. The total numbers of words for each of the three races has increased, (this is the total before you start seeing "already learned" when you request dialect help), it is now: 918 Gek, 928 Vy'keen, and 859 Korvax. I'm sure there's a cap on Autophage words, but I'm nowhere near that or the Atlas cap.
Settlement buildings got shifted around, but otherwise everything is fine. My mother loved the new water around Praxeum II, said it looked like the Caribbean.

That might be difficult for the game engine but I ain’t no game developer. Sean has already stated that Light No Fire will be exactly that, but on one planet even larger than Earth.
From my time playing since the update, I can say that the new planetary sub-biomes have been added ON TOP of the existing ones. Case in point the first two radioactive planets I visited were pretty much the old subbiomes with new sky and water effects, and the 3rd was the brand new subbiome(which looked really impressive!!).

Tbh its like i never even updated, my planet didnt change at all, let alone any near me, theyre mostly flat with some decent hills still
@@sacknutgaming2428 The vegetation of all of the lush planets I have bases on have changed and also the color palette. All the exotic planets I have visited so far haven't changed at all. Today I started exploring undiscovered systems and I found some of the new assets there. Testing continues...

My hope for part 2 is actual Citys civilizations on planets towns Giant Caves deep deep oceans.
I still haven't dived in yet. Just downloaded the update last night (psvr2) and am now off work and have time to play. I feel like a kid on Christmas that just woke up and is about to run downstairs to see all the Christmas gifts around the tree. 🙂
This rocks but all the trees being blown, moving in unison like that looks pretty bad, same with how the new creatures bounce exactly the same when walking and don't change speeds. On the luminescent planets the flora all "blink" at the same time, would be amazing if they all had their own cadence.
This game now only needs , more Action encounters with Alien battles on planets to make it more interesting, like battling to take over planets.
It has also screwed some really beautiful earth like planets.
i found a purple grassed paradise planet with a lime green atmosphere. Once you get to the surface there’s ONLY green, it’s so cool
Ive always thought it would be cool to have pitch black nights. Like make it rare but nights where you can only make out silhouettes in the distance with the sky.
it still feels kinda empty, although prettier. I sure hope they amp things up in terms of gameplay / story.
Player bases doesn’t seem to load in for me right now and you can fly right through the small floating islands like there not even there. But the water and clouds are absolutely gorgeous and the new solar ship customization is great. I’m excited to see the new fauna!
Nice, i seen a news post about this update but a lot of what you described in this video wasn't mentioned on the official post i read. Makes me more excited to play. I will likely play it this weekend. I am guessing new generation only affects undiscovered worlds, otherwise only adding them as "new" worlds would likely make them more rare, hoping I am not wrong.

I just hope they increase the number of total assets you can have on one save. I hate having to tear down bases I’ve spent a lot of time making just because there are new things to play with.

@@mikeuk666there's a global object limit for how many bass pieces a single player can have, it's a restriction of the game engine itself for performance and file size reasons
Starfield could never 😂 but seriously what a substantial patch. I can’t wait to jump back in. My favorite though? Ships landing on water. I don’t have to create terrain to make a landing spot in the middle of the sea anymore 🙏🏾

I'm not a big fan of their galaxy refresh, as my wife and I opted for an absolutely gorgeous paradise planet with dinosaur-like fauna and bioluminescent blue and gold grass. It was a beautiful sight day and night and completely tranquil. But now it's not like that anymore. It's a completely different planet and we're frustrated because we've spent days looking for this kind of planet.
Think of it this way.
You get to do it again with the potential for an even better find.
I get that but many people like myself want better procgen. Even a full universe reset if needed. I want terrain like in atlas rises again, but with new asset placements

Haven't played it yet but that happened to me once. I had the perfect planet once with a base, but one of the updates turned it into a dead planet.
I've been listening to xaine talk about NMS for a half a decade or more, surely since some time between pathfinder and atlas rises - oh damn, saying 'atlas rises' makes me feel like I am 1000 years old, ow - and for the game to go from that to this is just... Wow.
Sean. You and your team have done so much for so long and have asked for so little in return. Is there anything like this anywhere else in the games industry? A game this old freely updated with no microtransactions or paid DLC of any kind? I just don't know what to say anymore. Incredible doesn't cut it.
I redownloaded yesterday and saw the game is only like 22gig now too. That’s pretty impressive.
Ngl, I do hope for planet specific features. That is, what planets in Outer Wilds have that NMS don't, which make them so much more interesting for me. Like, if there was a pool of 100 and every planet picks 3 of them, there would be 970.200 combinations already.
I like the landing on water feature but I think they could've postponed it to a new type of ship specialized for that function - and possibly others such as skimming over water. Having any ship just weirdly floating on the water surface doesn't feel too good - except for the runner and living ships. Fantastic update nonetheless.
And well,if you find big enough wave,you can recreate the Miller planet scene from Interstellar
Its like they added Subnautica to No Mans Sky. The possibilities of the water elements being similar to Subnautica would be mind blowing.
not sure about part 2, excited to see what happens, be jumping back on myself over next few days - did have a run with the last update but I tend to drift in and out really
It's a great update but I am still hoping for the ability to buy or build boats like speed boats to extremely large yachts. Building on islands and adding piers with boats would be fantastic to include the ability to fish.
They have done an amazing job on this game. Just the most beautiful worlds. Well done Hello games!
After watching this video, I am totally hunting for a creature I can upload and name "And a Snazzy new dance". That's a purty name. Also playing this on an Arc A770 I just bought. I'm not sure if they stealth updated Arc support, but it's playing surprisingly well on Team Blue. This product line usually struggles on older titles like NMS, but I'm pleasantly surprised so far. Lots of settings bumped up to high and ultra, frames are pretty solid.
i have to find all new planets for my bases now, but that's how it is i guess.
But the update also broke VR mode, because the shop is not usable anymore. All items appear at the bottom below the scroll bar, so only the 1st is visibel and i can't access anything else. I can't play VR at the moment because of this bug.
Couple things the universe reset has affected would be planet color/style (not sure of biome yet), and settlement layout. My green moon is now a blue moon, but still Pleasant weather

Im still waiting for combat overhaul, or something to make planet exploration interesting.
Maybe there should be a complete universe reset if they are doing a complete refresh.
Going back through a couple of my bases, I have noticed that there are issues that have been caused by this.
Even with everything I have accomplished, I wouldn't be against it. I'd argue that all the expedition unlocks should remain unlocked though.
I hope they increase the amount of ships you can have, same with more weapons and pets. I want to have 20+ storage for guns and ships so i can have all types in one save.

Maybe a bigger freighter garage too and to let us pick which ones we want on display. At this point it’s the small stuff for me that I would appreciate.
@@Lorenzo-jc5yt I agree. A terminal near each landing pad to select which ship to display and maybe to limit what we can call down so the menu isn't overcrowded, just he able to call down what's on display on the ship at the time.
These new updates are both awesome and sad to me. Yes, I like free updates, but at the moment my PC is a potato. A few updates ago, I could still play No Man's Sky on low settings, and I didn't miss out on any expeditions. I'll be getting a good PC by the end of the year. I hope they'll have this year's expeditions as a redux then, like last year.
Ive downloaded and played this 3-4 separate times. When cool stuff is added. Time to do it again.

I just bought a new PC with a 4060 in it, and I already have a oculus quest 2. I am seriously considering buying No Man's Sky to play in VR. I bet it is breathtaking on a 4060.
i hope they just made planets to be a lot smaller but contains lots of rich details and civilization in some rare ones
All I want from part II is dynamic water so my ship can create weaves (tunel) when speeding over the surface.
I thought the devs said there is dynamic water, but could be just for wind& weather
It does this!! It won't show while boosting but if you're cruising over the water it's there! Crazy! 🙌🏾

@kanikrage308 oh! I had to look myself but it's another component you buy from the Anomaly. Go to where you upgrade your ship and it's a new part you can buy and install if you have the resources. It's awesome and worth it!! Go for it! 💪🏾
@@kanikrage308 The water is dynamic because it responds to weather on the surface of the planet. It does not respond to your ship otherwise you will be able to make weaves with your ship. There is a particle effect on top of the water if you fly close to it but it doesn't change the geometry of the water which I was talking about in the first place (creating tunnel).

It looks better but it seems like only about 1/4 of planets look better. 3/4 got small changes and don’t look better.
I noticed on the Xbox series X there are graphical glitches with water or liquid and landscape textures. I cannot confirm if this is the game itself since the update or Microsofts recent OS update back on the 15th-16th. Also I don't have No Mans Sky on my PS5 to see if there is any glitches. I do know the game update included new textures including water so this might be the developers doing. The game is playable and no crashes as of yet. Really not going to complain since they gave so much of their time with this game unlike other game developers who bale when sales crash.

I had a glowing red mushroom to a xeno colony
My world went from Barren Paradise, to a lush Paradise with a massive ocean with glowing mushrooms and small jungles.
Just had a go at it earlier today.
- Still a bit buggy. Had a hard crash when I first logged in. Not sure if it didn't like loading into my freighter or what. Managed to get back in and lower the graphics settings. Now it only occasionally perma-stalls while teleporting to a base, at the end of the teleport loading screen.
- The update to generation has made it so that some of my bases that didn't have trees near them now do, and vice-versa. Some of them even have some of the new creatures.
- One of the bases that was on a swampy planet is now on a bright and bubbly planet, mining what is now parafinium instead of mordite.
- Did they adjust ship speeds? My speedy ship feels speedier. Also it's nice not having to wait as long for the trade outpost to finally finish setting up so I can land.
First day... always bugs just remember to put them to zen desk
I didn't crash but had a massive FPS drop, loading into my freighter as well. Restarted the game and that issue went away.
Yeah,like someone already mentioned,units need to have way more meaning if you almost have trilions of it.
So far the most expensive thing is upgrading ship storage.

Another HUGE update! So HUGE! Now even MORE! More empty worlds.
Why Starbound (with mods) have more content than this? Big cities, npc land battles, npc followers, deep oceans, npc cities and villages, underwater npc cities, quests from npc, boarding enemy ships, building own space station. And i don't even talk about how good biomes in Stardbound is... That "huge" news about NMS every time - and every time you decide return just to see more boring barren grind with beatiful landscapes.

Haven't played in a few years, So many new updates.
I really want to try them all now I have a Quest 3 headset.
Clouds still look blurry.
Still no equator, northern/southern hemisphere or pole biomes.
I would say it is a tweak, not a huge change.
Adding terraforming, and biomes would be huge.
after this update i gave up on the idea that there will be a sequel of NMS at all. I thought that NMS 2.0 will probably in development after LNF is released, but this update transforms the new procedural technology of LNF to NMS and thus i think HG will continue to update NMS for many years now and try to sell the game to new gamers.

I went on the other day for about an hour. Started a new toon. And I do admit it looks pretty. I'm curious what this renaming uploads is about. Can any one do it? Or can only the person who did the upload rename? I hope it's not anyone that seems like trouble waiting to happen. I can see the trolls coming out of the wood work now.

I think part 2 will be better cause part one just seems to do water and clouds . And has messed up grounds
I hope FSR 3 and Frame Gen. comes with part 2. FPS have dropped about 4-8 fps less than before

just bought the game, only thing that is bothering me is something about the graphics, like I cannot see far away details of the terrain, I got a decent pc that can handle games like red dead redemption 2 at max settings, so in this game terrain details starts to appear when close at a certain distance, anything far away from that looks like a barren waste land, need to keep playing with the graphics settings maybe there is an option that can fix that :(
The only thing I would suggest now is gas giants and maybe the ability to fly close to a star
whens the expedition didnt see it in the expedition terminal?
I would love to see what their engine tools look like, I just know they have some crazy custom plugins made for the Unreal Engine 5. Anyway, I hope they revamp the weapons, the weapon system is clunky and tedious. I also wonder if they used the built in Unreal Engine water system or made their own.
why are there just replays of the trailer i seen, im looking for actual ingame shots and previews not the same one i seen
