    My daughter is a fashion designer and now works at COS and it has opened up my eyes for COS. My son is also becoming a fashon designer. I have never really found cloths I like 100%, so I have always changed them a bit and it has irritated me, now I have two at home that can saw my cloths and I finally get the fabrics and cuts that I like and that fits me. It is such a luxury. I just had my son make me a pair of trousers and it is my first pair in 50 years that are like butter on my body.

    Prefer Zara jeans and Cos top on you, Trinny, to be honest. They look like they fit you better. Cos is the best HighSt store by a mile.

    Great video. I find the designer brands to be ridiculously expensive and not always with the best quality fabrics. It’s difficult to justify the amount of money especially when the fit is towards models with a straighter thinner height body type. Very few offer petite sizing. Thanks for your series, Trinny. Learning tricks, always. ❤

    It sounds as if the pink beckham jumper will never feel really comfortable, if it feels so sratchy on your skin. I cut off jumpers often enough, but if they scratch I just don‘t wear them.

  • @aliceinwonderland.2080
    @aliceinwonderland.2080 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    Lucy is a lovely girl. I do think that full length trousers are more flattering on you, Trinny- they just create an aesthetic of balance between torso and leg length. The fit of the yellow designer trousers were definitely not great so I understand why you don’t wear them very often. I think with dupes, it usually comes down to the cut and the fabric so one just has to search that little bit harder for those in high street stores but when you do find the odd piece that does,it’s a quite a thrill !

  • @dr.khayhunter2965

    I would put a stitch in the lapel of the asos silver sequin jacket ,just one underneath the lapel so you can't see it so it sits better ,doesn't flop . Love seeing the dupes and the more high end 💙

  • @CountieLt25
    @CountieLt25 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I prefer the Zara jeans too! Live that crazy Kardashian t-shirt! That was money well spent just because you have washed it so many times! Those Australian yellow suit pants are a scandal! Such a great blazer. Like two different companies! Maddening! The Victoria Beckham sweater would be lovely on a twig with long legs in leggings only! Sell it or give it to your favorite giraffe! ❤

    • @comealongcomealong4480
      @comealongcomealong4480 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @CountieLt25 It would be interesting to ask Australian designer, Alex Perry about the cut of their women's suit pants. (Did Trinny say her yellow set was approx six years old?). I wondered whether the Alex Perry label fits to a model with wider hips. I'm thinking of a Miranda Kerr type body shape - very slim, but with some curve. Trinny looks to have a slim hipped body shape. Just a noodle thought 💭 ......

    Such a great video, so much to consider. Watching Trinny in the morning here in Miami, is like having an extra shot of expresso! Trinny carries an exuberance for style that is infectious, and I love all of her products, hoping that some of her energy rubs off on me! I will be shopping this weekend on her website, mostly for me!

    With the Australian yellow suit…the fabric in the pant even looks a bit lighter than the jacket. I much prefer the other yellow suit. Thanks Trinny x

    • @comealongcomealong4480
      @comealongcomealong4480 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Rebecca Haley I noticed that too. Could be because the yellow jacket is fully lined - and the pant not.

    I just absolutely love fashion! I live in a place where not a ton of people even put themselves together to go out in public. I will always have myself put together because a you never know who you’re gonna meet or run into and B I have been offered a job because I look approachable and well put together. You don’t have to go all out, you can put on a pair of jeans with a graphic or plain T-shirt with a blazer some hoop earrings or whatever earring you prefer. I had some cute sneakers or boots and you look put together but you’re only wearing jeans and a T-shirt. I do a lot of thrift clothes shopping but I look for pieces that will last me not cheapie items such as flannels and sweatshirts. I love to look in the men’s section for vintage blazers and in the women’s four vintage button-down shirts because they have this Flowy texture to them or really incredible patterns. I have also found the best jewelry at Goodwill and Salvation Army. Broaches I love to add them to my Braves or lapel of my blazer, I’ve even taken earrings and put them on my hats and blazers. you have to think outside the box when it comes to fashion. You cannot just stay super close minded or buy some thing that is right next to another item because they look like they go together when you are in a store. Unless it is a suit because for instance your yellow suit that would be so hard to find either the top or bottom in a totally different store Unless you’re going for a pattern

  • @Lighthouse1852
    @Lighthouse1852 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    One question and two suggestions!
    Q: How the heck do you keep makeup off your high polo collars, like the Beckham jumper?
    Idea 1: The fuchsia Beckham jumper is much too good to slash or toss! If you have an expert knitter in your life, or an elegant yarn store with instructors, please ask if they'd be willing to make you a steek at the sides to create slits at the hem. Steeks are an old technique used to finish vertical necklines and armholes in Norwegian sweaters. That knitter could even use a contrasting color yarn to pickup the edge stitches and knit a tidy narrow band of color around the slits, hem, sleeve hems and maybe collar. In softer yarn than the sweater is now.
    Idea 2: The yellow trousers of the expensive suit would benefit tremendously from a lining, which wouldn't be very difficult to add. If lined, these trousers would hold their shape better, feel nice on, conceal tucked shirts, and more. An alteration would help, too. It's gorgeous jacket in a special color; it would be a pity to let the suit go just because the pants weren't just right.

    • @kimberlyperrotis8962
      @kimberlyperrotis8962 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks, I didn’t know about steeks, I know little about knitwear🙂

    I would wear a lightweight cotton skivvy under that pink scratchy jumper to solve the itchiness. Also you could line the yellow pants that would stop the see through effect and make them hang better.

    Are you sure about chiffon Trinny? For us bigger girls it can be a life saver as it's a sheerer way to layer. I tend to wear chiffon shirts over vest tops with maybe a more fitted blazer on top. Then it's not such a heavy blocky way of wearing shirts. Would love your opinion on this as I am now wondering if I just look old!

    Wish I had a sequin-friendly social life🤣 A closet confessions I would love is how to do rainwear chicly. Where have all the rainciats gone? I am tall and mannish and beige. Look awful in puffy coats and practical hiker-ish jackets in sludgy colours.

    I'm 5 ft 3 and most sleeves are short on me, but I do have long arms. Expensive yellow suit still looks good. I have shorter torso, longer legs. Loved the sequin tops. Over long sleeves look good, make a thumb hole! I completely agree about chiffon. It just looks cheap as you get older, even silk chiffon. Love the idea of ageless cool. My look is natural soft colours, neutrals, tapes, silver and soft blues. Also I shopped the brunello cuccinello looks I loved for high street prices. Never been happier or more comfortable in my clothes and will soon be 67.

    I'm 5'4" and I have real trouble with length of trousers and sleeves on the high street. Nearly always too long. And sometimes petite will be perfect, but often half an inch too short. I don't mind hemming something that otherwise fits really well, but actually most trousers don't even do that because of dealing with a menopausal tummy, even though I'm slim-ish. Find it frustrating. And then there's the hunt for things that are not frumpy but not for someone who's in their 20s!!! Wish the high street would do better because designer is not possible for most of us.

    I like everything. Preference belongs to the beholder and wearer. I see all the beautiful nuances. I believe I buy multiples too, maybe to try it out or wait for investment, but the heart always shines. Also, I do tend to look at Zara’s limited collection-there are some real stunners, like this navy asymmetrical dress, etc. And I will find the high-end, mix pieces or do a virtual try-on of the high-end vs others, seeing which one fits better.

    There's something wrong with the crotch curve in the yellow trousers.

      It is annoying, I got a beautiful pair of culottes by jaeger in TK Maxx, and from the front the fit is perfect, but the back makes my a*se look like a bag of spanners as there is an elastic waist at the back. My sister is very curvy naturally, like a Kim K booty (still in her 60s) so hopefully they will fit her as her waist is very slim. I am gutted but I try them on a lot and when I turn around I know I can never wear them.

    Pink Victoria Beckham looks great.Quality.I would never cut it.The other one looks cheaper and ordinary.
    The yellow suitpants doesn't look nice.
    It need's a new look from the waist and maybe some pockets.
    The expensive silver jacket
    is exactly the right style.
    I like the black COS trousers.I buy a lot of clothes from COS and Max Mara.And from PRLauren.
    I would ware the pink VB with a longer shirt maybe.
    The yellow skirt is nice.I have a simular from PRL
    and use it a lot.
