I have learned the only way to learn more is to embrace the fact that you need to learn more lol. It is definitely overwhelming but just know you will get there! There are people who have been doing this for 20+ years who still use Google. It's ok, you got this!
You’re an inspiration to everyone looking for a new path, career change, or anyone needing a boost of energy from a beautiful spirit! Keep up the great work, and good luck moving forward!
You are truly an inspiration 🙏 , I have never coded before i went to a different path when I was in college but I always had a strong feeling about computers and I love technology so much that is a passion for me , I’m taking some drastic decisions and I want to put all my effort and do something new with my life , thank you 🙏 for this
Best of luck Ainsley! I'm an aspiring software developer learning to code via the self- taught route and I've been doing it for a year now. It's never easy in the beginning but with perseverance and a strong Aptitude for learning and tech you'll get there
I’m truly blessed that I found your channel. Thanks for sharing these resources. Now I can finally begin my coding journey most importantly FOR FREE. I had just recently got accepted to the University of Chicago Fullstack Academy coding bootcamp. I was totally excited until it came to that tuition part 😂. I applied for loan after loan and got denied back to back. I honestly cried the other day when the advisor called asking if I was going to be able to start Monday but I had to tell him I couldn’t. I lost motivation after that. I’m just a black man trying to make it out the trenches of Chicago with my kids and I felt stuck at that point but then I came across your very informative channel.🎉. Now the grind begins.
Omg! I am so glad you found this video! It is so possible to be self-taught in this industry. Most people on my team are self-taught and its amazing! There are so many resources out there to teach yourself but the biggest thing being self-taught is going to be discipline! You got this!!
Hey Jess👋🏾👋🏾 I just wanna say thank you. First for keeping things 💯 with your viewers and giving a really transparent perspective on what you've encountered on your tech journey. I personally decided a few months back to take the same journey and aspire to be a web dev myself. I appreciate your time and beautiful spirit in these post. Even though I'm a year late, believe me when I say the nuggets you are giving are timeless and on point as I've started with bootcamps which are definitely pricey but truly not the only way. Like you I'm big on having a curriculum to follow so I can connect the dots. It feels good to hear someone I can relate to on this matter. Again I want to say a HUGE thank you for such great and valuable material & resources. PS this hoody is LIFE💛 I plan to start my own YT page & clothing line as well once I get further into my tech career(I'll keep you posted). Blessings to you & your family💛 Can't wait to see what's next for you!
Awww you’re so sweet!! Thank you for all your kind words! All I ever hope to do is inspire others to go after what they want so I love hearing about your journey so far! Keep going!! Keep me posted!
Hey! Not sure what caused your laptop to die but that’s happened to me as well. I bought a hard drive reader and took my drive out to get old projects off of my drive. Hope that helps 😊
Aww man! Yeah, I think she closed her shop or is taking time away from it at the moment. There are so many cool developer clothing brands out there so I know you'll find something!
Thank you so much beautiful! Very informative and motivating! I am about to begin learning html css & JavaScript on my own I’m super excited!! I purchased a few courses on udemy and I have a account with treehouse I’m so ready! Xoxo all the way from Cali!💗💜✨
This was very helpful. I’m glad I found this video Bcz I’ve been looking for resources on individuals looking to teach themselves coding. I will be using most, if not everything. I’m hoping to get into a tech job by next year..so this year is grinding. Thank you for sharing your content you saved me a ton.! :)
Thanks Jess, really helpful stuff here. I personally really liked your breakdown of the different learning platforms; it's really useful to know what they're like experience wise and to get an idea of whether they connect to your own style of learning. Thanks and good luck on your journey!!
ive been coding with python for over 2 years now. i mostly make stock scanners and trading bots. the latest scanner works pretty good. im starting to make money with it.. recently i started using zero to mastery academy for learning python , web development, machine learning. his courses has helped me get familiar with web development in a very structured manner. I have recently started applying for dev jobs . 100 % rejection so far. im a electronics tech an am looking for jobs were i can repair electronics and code.
Thank you for your support! Honestly I’m just learning JavaScript. I didn’t really need the language for my current position. Every tech job is different. I know software engineers that used Python and never JS. For me, I use older tech like PHP and Yii framework.
I love the fact that you embrace that you don't know everything. My issue is getting overwhelmed when I don't know the answer.

Hey! Glad I discovered your channel.
Question, how well did u know JS before landing a job?
Thank you for your support! Honestly I’m just learning JavaScript. I didn’t really need the language for my current position. Every tech job is different. I know software engineers that used Python and never JS. For me, I use older tech like PHP and Yii framework.
What does the message on your shirt mean? Or is it random text? Looks cool either way lol
Thank you! It’s a play on code. It basically means never give up unless you die lol. Keep going.
Hey. What are all the languages do you know?
HTML, CSS, still strengthening in JavaScript. I am a frontend dev so these are the core technologies I use.
Hello, is your javascript and jQuery book written by Jon Duckett.
Hi! Yes it is.
