      Thank you! I am so glad you found me Fatima! I’m always looking for recipes that have no alcohol, etc. I wanted to make sure there was an alternative! Thank you for the coffee! Much love 💕

    Your recipe caught my eye because of how you didn’t add sugar. I stopped buying traditional marinara sauce from the store because I wasn’t aware how much sugar they add. Other recipes call for more tedious work like peeling the tomatoes, etc.

      Hi there! Thank you for checking out the recipe. Yes, I feel that marinara shouldn't use any sugar, but every other recipe has it. This will be the BEST sauce you try.

      If one boils the tomatoes first, peeling isn’t too bad. It is an extra step though 🤙

      Exactly. Trying to eliminate the extra steps, for those who are low on time, which seems like all of us these days. Thanks for checking out the video, please don’t forget to subscribe to the channel.

    Marinara sauce originates from Naples and comes from the Italian word, marinaro, meaning sailor.
    “There was a simple ONE of GARLIK, oil, and tomatoes called MARINARA, supposedly because it was made quickly, as soon as the mariners’ wives spotted their husbands returning fishing boats in the distance.”

    • @usnva5638
      @usnva5638 ปีที่แล้ว

      There was also a sauce called FUNGU, supposedly because when the mariners were close enough to see the old bat onshore holding a pin roller and yelling at them, they would say, "Fungu! Ima the hell outa here!"

    Hi! What kind of tomatoes did you use? And did you blend the tomatoes with the skin on?

      Hi Julia! Thank you for your question. These are Roma tomatoes. And I kept the skins on 😀

    Can we use normal vinegar instead of balsamic

    • @HappyHungryHijabi
      @HappyHungryHijabi  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You can but it won’t give you that depth of flavour that balsamic vinegar gives you.

    Hi I have a question, how do you store it after you make the sauce, sorry I didn't quite understand it

    • @HappyHungryHijabi
      @HappyHungryHijabi  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi there! I store it by cooling it down completely and freezing it if you don’t use it immediately. It can be stored in the fridge for 2-3 days.
      Thank you for your question. Please take the time to subscribe to the TH-cam channel for more great content. Much love 😀

      This makes enough sauce for 6 people. Which is around 6-8 measured cups

    This is very basic recipe, but it's more like pizza sauce than marinara. You forgot onion. It adds alot of flavor and the sweetness to balance with the acid without sugar. Also, real sauce is made from stewing tomatoes over a long time. So kudos on the hack, but it's just not the same.

    • @simonrayner74
      @simonrayner74 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I was wondering where the onion was. You definitely need 🧅 In a Marinara sauce I'm sure.

    Not marinara but pizza sauce. Why you not tell people to remove skin on tomatoes?

    • @HappyHungryHijabi
      @HappyHungryHijabi  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You don’t always need to remove the skins because this sauce is cooked down. Entirely up to you if you prefer to remove the skins, just blanch the tomatoes for 10 seconds and dunk in ice water. You can peel off the skins easier that way 😀
