Selena had a combination of talent, stylistic versatility, charisma and class that was, and will forever remain, without equal. The fact that her fan base continues to grow at an incredible rate, more than a quarter of a century after her passing - something that's pretty much unheard of in musical history - says it all. I've been a HUGE Selena fan for going on 25 years, and I can't imagine my life without her music in it. She was a true artist, and a true lady, both on stage and off, and there will never be another like her.
"Do you think Selena will ever be forgotten"? What a ridiculous question. She is among a relatively small number of artists in the history of music who can honestly be called legends. Many artists will come and go, popularity - wise, but as long as there are people in the world who know what real music is - made by true artists - Selena will be listened to, loved, and admired, both as an artist, and as a person, in general.
I was listening to Selena's music today after having a very tough week personally and professionally. I couldn't help but get very teary eyed. I had tears of joy and sadness listening to her music. She was a very special lady who will never be forgotten.
I am in Texas right now to see A.B. Quintanilla's band at the Tejano Explosion. I have also visited Corpus Christie to go to the Selena Museum, her statue by the water and her grave. When I was at her grave a 17-year-old young man was there and he told me he loved Selena and the reason he loved her was his parents raised him right! Selena will never be forgotten.
There's never gonna be a day that Selena ain't remembered cause she was everybody's role model and loved you just the way that you are 🤗 she was a one of a kind and had a heart of gold, fabulous and she never forgot where she came from either... always a smile on her face and sang just like a star ⭐ should. Her life was very important to all of us but it was sadly taken away at the tender age of 23 which hurt millions and millions of people around the globe, but Selena will always be remembered in our hearts n souls forever and she will never be FORGOTTEN ❣️❣️❣️❣️ Shine on SELENA 👠👠 SHINE ON 🌹🌹🌹
@Janay Daniel Yes, Selena definitely had a very beautiful voice 😍😍😍! It’s very unfortunate that she had passed away one day shy of my 21st birthday in 1995. And on my 21st birthday (April 1), that’s when I’d begun to learn about Selena and to listen to her music 🎶 which I still do to this day.
Anniversary of a very sad day. Park in Houston Denver Harbor to honor her, last concert in the Astrodome. Houston loves you!!! You are definitely missed, your songs play throughout the Barrio. RIP
I remember when she was murdered. I was living in Tacoma, Washington! That's where I first heard Ven Conmigo. Fell in love with her music from that point on.
I was in San Antonio Texas back in 1995 for a Missouri Lutheran Synod church national youth gathering. On March 31 that night at Alamodome 64 thousand youth were praying for Selena that night. it's a memory that has always been with me I was 18 back then. When everyone was heading back to the hotels, I remember seeing all these people in trucks cars vans waving the Mexico national flag out of windows as they drove around downtown and honking their horns.
There was a church in Spain that held a memorial mass for Selena. It was designed to hold 500 people, and 3 times that many showed up, even though Selena never got the chance to perform in Spain. That's how loved she was, and that love has only grow, world -wide, since. She deserves every bit of it, and then some.
Thank you for sharing this video. I hope Selena's family and her former husband Chris is okay. I miss Selena, but our grief is incomparable to what the family had to go through.
