I believe that the problem with most of the characters are the colors they used to shade and the black linework. When they where shading most of the characters they seem to use only the color they're using and add black, they do this especially in the clothes and hair. And then there's the black linework, in the Beautiful work they didn't used black which is a part of the reason why it looks different. Another part why is that black linework stands out with light/pastel colors and very much do not do well together. The black linework works well with darker bolder colors and can be used to set a kind of tone on a story you want to show based on how thick the lines are. Examples can be Marvel and Dc Comics, or even My Hero Academia and Jojo Bizarre Adventure since the art style is based on those comics. And since Hetalia is a light hearted show, it doesn't really fit in very well.
somehow they made spain look EVEN MORE like a harem mc. also as someone with spanish and portuguese decent, i really wanted the female version of portugal shes SO PRETTY. portugal here just looks, underwhelming
"I've never seen her (Liechtenstein) in this dress." Well, in the first chapter of hetalia:world stars, she wears that type of dress. The next time she appears in the comic, which is quite a few chapters after, she's wearing the normal dress. I think it's weird they drew her in that dress. She literally only wore it once EVER. Oh, and there was one part in the fondue chapter that she wore a short sleeved version of her dress with lace at the end of her sleeves.
In WWII Lisbon broke the Record of City with the largest Number of spies per square meter. Becoming the international capital of espionage. The author of James Bond books was in Estoril (great Lisbon's area) during WWII, and that inspired the character. In the village of Estoril there were Also some Dethroned Kings before the war, like the queen of Romania, the King of Italy and visits of the King of Spain. The story of the romanian Royal family in portugal is really interesting. The Prince could clame the portuguese Throne because he was decendent from Mary II, the Brazilian Queen of Portugal, and Salazar was notified by the United States president to try to stop the Royals from leaving portugal because Romania was occupied by Germany. Fun history facts! The portuguese dictator was crucial to keep Spain neutral in the primary stadges of the war, signing treaties with franco to keep the peninsula away from the conflcit when the germans were actualy wining the war and Spain was really pro-german. If Spain joined the Axis, portugal and Gibraltar would fall imidiatly, giving full Control of the mediterranean to hitler. The germans would Control the huge suplies of Wolfram in the peninsula, and the Iberian overseas provinces like Angola, western Saara, Timor and Macao, the canary islands, madeira and the Azores. In the madeira there was an huge comunity of British war refugies. Timor had oil, And the Azores are in an crucial position to ensure atlantic dominence and even atack the US. This would be a comple disaster. Sometimes people forget the importance of portugal and Spain during WWII. The Iberian neutrality was essencial. This two countries were powerless at the time. The Iberian peninsula was the place that would have made WWII completly diferent.
@@sab5686 yeah I thought so. (I got into a argument about her skin tone on amino yesterday. I said it fine as it is cause it compliments her outfit and if she had darker skin I’d think she should wear clothes with more color. Apparently that’s rac*st and that I was siding with colorists.)
