Conrod Straight used to be completely straight. The kink was introduced after some cars became airborne on the secondary rise resulting in at least one driver being killed. The history of the track can easily be found.
I'm going to say. Mount Panorama is unique and although there is without a doubt F1 is never going to come here. Sometimes you got to wonder, imagine if there was say a DRS Zone on Mountain Straight as well as Conrod Straight into the chase. Also, Sector One and the first part of Sector 3 would be where the bulk of the overtaking would be. I don't think anyone would try and overtake in Sector 2 as 2 wide in the modern day F1 cars will not work. Either you somehow survive or someone or both cars going side by side in sector 2 are in the wall. It's like saying if you don't commit you're in the barrier. If you DO commit you may put yourself in the wall but have a better opportunity of winning the race.
@@anuratohazra Think of it as like the Macau Grand Prix in F3 but with more aggressive elevation. Yeah I agree Mount Panorama is unique and without a single finger raised F1 is never going to race here. I'd wish because, it is such an icon of a track but we all know that is never going to happen A) The width and length of the F1 cars I think they are slightly longer and wider than the V8 Supercars that race here I could be wrong B) Particularly in Sector 2 Up the Mountain in the V8's you have a chance of overtaking up there but I highly doubt any F1 driver unless you have the nerves of steel to even overtake up there would want to do that. It's going to be single file up there or if someone were to go 2 wide. Either they survive or they crash out like I highly doubt 2 wide throughout the entirety of Sector 2 would work C) referring back to B most of the overtaking would be up Mountain Straight towards Griffin's Bend at the end of Sector 1 and down Conrod straight from Forrest Elbow all the way down to the Chase at the Start of Sector 3. Edit: Fun fact did you know when F1 used to race at Adelaide until 1996 before it was moved to Melbourne which stands today. The V8 Supercars series that is held in Australia actually uses most of the former F1 circuit. Pretty much all of Sector 1. @@neddy1287 they unfortunately would have to probably take the elevation out of the track and make the track twice as wide and take out the blind corners. It wouldn’t even be the same track in the slightest. It would only be awesome if they raced with the track completely unchanged

If that was an unofficial lap record by Button, then why not set an unofficial lap record yourself? Or are unofficial lap records a thing to be respected?
