I love that you addressed distressed coins. I have 77 silver eagles that were submerged in floodwater (i.e., raw sewage) for approx. 4 days, when I dried them out. When I finally get to them, I am going to try putting them in clean water and ultrasound them. I that doesn't work so well, I'll try adding a bit of baking soda. It sucks being flooded out of two houses and fired from your job for false reasons. I'm glad like hell that I stacked when I had the money, because there won't be any more stacking here. I think that I am good on the metals (gold, silver, copper, and lead), and have good security. Your videos are great, and economically and politically, we would have a good time getting some beers together. You are the man!

      @ra1der5 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

I wouldn’t do anything but rinse in clean water a few times. Maybe add A LITTLE bleach to sanitize them. Ultrasound and baking soda might make them look pretty, but I think it’s effort with little/no reward when the stuff hits the fan.

Yankee, ask Tim if all hell broke loose and Silver hit $100 an oz, would he still have the same spread?
I truly believe that when SHTF, an ounce is gonna be an ounce (not including special dates or coins) I think whether it's nasty or pristine the guy on the other end will say: Yo, it's an ounce and an ounce is $$ and that's it. GENTLEMEN, HAVE A MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yep, I buy generic silver rounds as for the money, you can stack a LOT more silver. Silver doesn't know what shape or design it's in afterall, and when you sell (or barter) that silver should the worst happen in the future, most won't care IMO.

I'm definitely in the 'cull' camp. That American Silver Eagle was wonderful, I have a near full date run of Eagles and all mine look like that one. Ounces are more important to me and I do not care too much about the condition (unless the coin is in a real bad way). I would love to get into Tim's shop.

@@mistercut8331 You're right. The Wedge Tail Eagle series is a really beautiful John Mercanti design for a US bullion dealer. I think they're limited to about 50K per year and there's only about 5000 for Aussies and they all disappear in a day or two, despite being limited to about 10 per person. Perth also makes collectible versions with different sizes- gold, proof, bimetallic, gilt and incuse - but they are REALLY expensive and super rare.

Early on in my stacking I got burned with some silver maples that developed, milk spots and when it was time to sell I took a hit on the price I got due to their condition. Since then I have learned to only buy silver in forms of product that are much less subject to price fluctuation based on condition. Bars and circulated 90% constitutional coins both fit that bill for me. Relative to the going price, simple things like bars are more price stable on both ends, buying and selling. You may get a little less for a bar when you sell, but you also paid a similar percentage less when you bought it, so it all comes out even in the end, and you avoided the risk of lost value due to degraded condition from some unexpected circumstance (flood, smoke, air exposure, milk spots, etc.). Likewise with the 90%, the beat up highly circulated condition is already factored into whatever the going price might be both when you buy and when you sell.
If you want something pretty to enjoy for it's beauty (like that Australian Eagle) then by all means go for it. Just remember that the beauty of that fancy coin will come with the additional risk that unforeseen events can possibly cause the coin's condition to degrade, and thus reduce the resale value down to something less than the extra premium you initially paid for it as a nice bright shiny object.

If someone calls to buy an item today, and the price is "X", how does Tim handle market changes between the call to order, and the arrival of the check? The price today, is not likely the same a week from now when a check arrives. Do the ups and downs even out so that the price today is the price or does it adjust to market on payment receipt? Just curious....

That safe is 2 feet deep. Have Tim grab something from the back.
There is a safe that size but not as old and vintage cool for $500.
Let me know if you need another safe 😂
It takes a special person with the room and means to move a safe that large.

It would be interesting to know what the "battered" American Silver Eagle weighs ? If it's still close to 1 Troy ounce, it is still worth melt at least.

Think in terms of reserve grade gold and silver versus exchange grade gold and silver. In most cases, that rough looking Eagle is what you're going to use to buy that set of tires, presuming the tire shop operator is smart enough to know that silver is real money. Depending on the type of tire, half a tube to a full tube of rough looking Eagles should get you that set of tires.
However, if that tire shop operator actually understands silver and gold, it may take less in the way of reserve grade silver for the same set of tires.

Tim/Yankee your price regarding PRETTY SILVER versus UGLY SILVER will be meaningless when AG goes MUCH HIGHER.no one looks at the mantle when poking the 🔥 😂

Germania sovereigns are in my opinion the prettiest and I love the Scottsdale 10 and 5 Oz stackers. They win in the bar category. I drooled and waited all year for Scottsdale to release the Galaxy kilo bar but it either never materialized or was sold only to private parties

Have a question about if you take silver in that is in a plastic case can you ask to have them removed and your case back? End of the day that wasn’t in the price of the silver and at your expense to purchase a case for another coin.

Hey Yankee !! Im blaming it on you ! I was asked what i was writing a check for and i said Yankee made me do it ! I finally called Tim and ordered the last 10 Wedge-tailed Eagles he had on hand ! Wish id had mire time to talk to him but it was close to 6 his time. I couldnt find any of those style Eagles at SD or JM so i checked Perth. They were sold out of 2022 and 2023, so....blamed it on Yankee ! 🤣

I’m a dividend investor, My wife and I have invested in the S&P500, both through my TSP with the government, and through fidelity in her 401-k. Cashed out 270k from the S&P and invested with a Financial adviser, Monica Mary Strigle and we also bought Solana at the right time. Until around 3 years ago we were 100% in the s&p after over 30 years. I’m retiring at the end of this month at 62, while my wife will retire next year at 60. We currently have 3.7 million in our tax deferred savings. I am putting this out there for anyone looking for how to help themselves in this time of crisis.
