- This is a song by Joey and Rory that they sang at the concert I went to, They evidently have not come out with this song on the radio or cd's yet cause I cant find it anywhere on you tube or anywhere else but I LOVE IT

No man ever loved a woman more than Rory loved Joey, and she loved him just as much. So it always brings a smile to my face & makes me kinda giggle when she sings this song, or Cheater, Cheater, and pushes around on Rory as if she's really talking about him! Tho EVERY ONE OF US know he never, ever would think about it, consider it, let alone- "do the deed". But he's excellent at being the butt of her jokes & silliness. You can just tell by that big Southern grin, he'd let her pick on him anytime she wanted, & he enjoyed every minute of it. So very sad God needed to take her home so soon.... too soon. Though we rejoice for her, no more cancer, no more pain, no more heartache, no more tears, and NO MORE DEATH. She's in perfect peace in God's eternal paradise. The joyous place we all long to arrive at, at the end of our life's journey. But until that day, the heartache, the pain, & the tears continue for those of us left behind. God knows we are imperfect humans, and we cry for us, and the emptiness we feel when they take the hand of Jesus & enter God's Kingdom. I can only begin to imagine the loneliness & sadness Rory has felt since he lost his precious Josephine. (His nickname for her) Praise God he has his steadfast faith, and their sweet daughter, Indiana. I do however understand great loss, deep grieving, because 8yrs ago, we lost our youngest son, who had barely turned 21. He was missing for nearly 5 months, before his "remains" were found. Let me tell you, there's no worse words for a parent to hear. Or to overhear the conversation I'm sure we were not supposed to hear, but they weren't being as discreet as they thought, as they discussed that "honestly, these remains are unviewqble. I would not want to see my child in that condition"....... Talk about a knife stab to the heart. I thought I could literally feel my heart physically being torn to shreds. My arms physically ached to hold my child in my arms, just one more time.... Please God....I cried and pleaded. But all to no avail. I searched my husband's eyes, with tears running down his chheks as well, and he shook his head, which I took to mean he agreed with the coroner & funeral director. From the very day we were informed he had been found, and the Officer handling his case, asked for our dentist's name, to obtain dental records to make a positive ID. And then to sign papers giving them our permission for an autoposy? Why??? It was painfully obvious how he died. And then, what did we wish to do with him? What do we wish?? We wish we could go back to that hot August day, and never let him leave our house! That's what we wish! Do you have a form to sign for that?? What WAS HIS WISHES, should he pass away??? We had no clue. Not something you typically discuss with your 21 yr old baby boy. Its NOT the natural order of things. You discuss with them YOUR OWN wishes..... never dreaming for an instant he might leave this world before you. Since he'd been in all the elements of the midwest from August to December, the end of the hot summer, plenty of rainy days, all of fall, and on into winter. My husband is a little older than me, way more wise about certain subjects, one being decomposition, from being a Vietnam Veteran. He gently told me, he thought he would prefer cremation, and then he would go home with us. We'll pick a nice, simple yet elegant urn, and ashes can be shared with grandparents, siblings, we can take some to special places, all to honor him. God bless my husband. He always knows just the right ways to tell me the hardest things. Most importantly, one day his son, who qt the time, was only 8 months old. But then, my husband continued on, we'll save them to give to the baby when he's much older.
So we prayed we were doing right by our child.
Now, 8 long yrs later, we still miss him terribly. But that baby boy is now 8 YRS old, and an absolute twin of his Daddy. He has no memory of him, of course, so we share all the stories we can, show him pictures, and remind him often how wonderful and kind his dad was, and he'd want you to be the same. Kind. Mind your manners. Give school everything you've got. Play as many sports as you can, and once you make the commitment to a team, you don't quit. You show up, on time, to every practice & game . Go to church. Help out when needed. Learn how to pray, and then pray often. Pray for others.
Be respectful always. Especially to the women in your life. Make sure you go to college, or learn a skilled trade, or join the Military, so someday you can provide well for your own family. And oh, btw, daddy loves you more than he's ever loved anything in this life. These are the things we feel our son saying. And last would be, try to learn to play an instrument! Our son played guitar & drums, and sang with a voice made for country music.
Praise God, He has given our family healing. Not 100%, we still have an estranged relationship with one of our other sons and its very sad. His nephew is growing up fast, and he's only young once. But I just keep praying. In God's timing.
Our faith, and our grandson, give us joy & hope again. Something 8yrs ago, I thought was lost forever. You don't get over it. You don't just suddenly stop missing them. You just learn to accept a new way of living life without them. And I have carried on too much! But I pray so much that Rory has also received healing & comfort from our Savior. He's truly the ONLY HOPE we have.
Sorry for the story of my life...... I just believe I can relate a little to what Rory has experienced, just in a slightly different way. And Im also in Indiana, about 20 minutes from the town where Joey grew up. Just adored her and thought she was a classy, beautiful lady, with the voice of an angel, and just a tender soul called home too soon for us, her fans, and especially for her family. And feel the same way about our son. Tender spirit, kind, loving heart, with also an amazing voice. At least his mama thought so.

And God please, hold grieving loved ones close to You. I know You held me close. I know You provided comfort no one or no thing could ever match. Thank You for our grandson, and for making him the spitting image of our son. Very sweet of You to do for us Lord.
Please give Joey, and our Jordan, big hugs and tell them they sre not forgotten and never will be.
Thank You for the years we had with our loved ones. I know some people don't have that much time with their spouse or child. We are blessed for 21 yrs, instead of 21 months. I cannot fathom.
Bless Rory & Indiana, and Joey's family & friends. We owe so much to You, Father.

And...what makes them so great, is you can just tell from their stage presence and performance that they are truly in love! And how they can write songs like this...is simply amazing to me! For to pray for this Angel that graced our lives so wonderfully, was indeed a privilege in itself, and to see her taken from her family and her fans which numbered in the millions, was a great loss. We cannot question why God chose this route, but I do so prayed for her every chance I got, whether it be mowing the grass outside, to working in my small garden. With every stroke of my gardening tools, I could imagine how much she loved it also, so I counted it as joy. The music of Joey + Rory will live forever, and the image of Joey will never fade, and Indy will be exactly like her much beloved mother. So Rory, if you are by accident reading this, Im still praying for your loss, and as her husband Rory, and dearest daughter Indy, and we will continue to look for more great songs from you, Heidi and Hopie, and we cannot leave out Indy. Watching thease two, makes be realize,I sure wasted my life,especially love.let the good ones go,cause I like that sinning life,now a old man single,but I found the Lord and I am so blessed that he didn't give up on me,chastised me and got my attention,cancer and the misery is nothing compared to hell for enternity,so thankful that Rory has faith,because he sure took a awful hit,but those short yrs he had with Joey I know he would not trade for anything.feel blessed he had that true love that many in this world never see,has that little girl to help his broken heart.God bless Rory and have peace to you see her again.
