ABP Pedestal cream & sugars are harder to find and more elegant. A pinwheel pattern usually is 1900 - 1915. Now your not endanger of chipping your fine porcelain plate with a knife rest. Pinkies up!
I have that exact Brody flower urn vase piece!😮 I found it on the curb during bulky collection in my area. It's actually one of my favorite pieces. It's a great decor piece that's multi functional! Great get! ❤

Those Hall vases remind me of my Grandma Myer’s enclosed front porch. She had many pieces on the window ledges wit the Old wicker furniture was a wonderful place to read or put a puzzle together with cousins. Such wonderful memories you gave me! Thanks

Hi Scott. I went to ocean grove the other day to walk my dog and thought you might be on vacation and that I would come across you near the auditorium since it reminds me of you now. But of course I didn’t and hope you are ok. The pollen is horrible and my eyes can’t stop tearing and burning. Hope that’s all it is with you. Miss your videos as well as everyone does. Be well.
It’s amazing how much there is…. The younger generations just don’t want it. It’s almost impossible to give away anymore. 60s, 70s and even 80s are the new antiques.
So sadly true! I guess when I die, I won't care, but now when I think of my house of lovely antiques which my kids could give two figs for, I am sad.
@@es4242 That’s because people don’t collect anymore. There’s no connection emotionally with it. It’s just stuff. People also don’t entertain like they did back then and use all this glassware or China. Also back then for most if you had a full set of China and glassware it was a huge accomplishment and was seen with pride. Now you can get it ALL anywhere and no one cares. It was a different world then. People cherished their belongings because they had to work so hard to get them.

Hull is my favorite pottery. Especially in the 40s colors.

I like fire king just as much as Pyrex for use. Corning is smother
Sometimes the tape takes the color off the painting when you take it off. That happened to me on a tea pot.

Scott, hahah!!! 'Calm down!' he muttered through clenched teeth. Hahaha! You crack me up! That Hull vase group (steal!) was soooo pretty. The basket piece that wasn't Hull I would guess is Royal Copley. They almost always had those raised lines across the bottom of their pieces, which I think was genius, as you can fill the vase with water and won't leave a huge water mark on your wood furniture. That pressed glass cordial (only one) is perfect for displaying a delicate bouquet of tine flowers or one exquisite mid-size rose bloom. Those salts are a win-win in cut glass. Wow! that grab bag was an amazing find. You had a great shopping trip!

I never knew there were individual knife rests. My mom had a large cut glass one used for the knife that cut birthday cakes. Sooo pretty! And she kept a list of all the birthdays it was used for.
You done good Scott…real good. Keep showing people the beauty, and the demand will return. How many times have we seen things go in, and out, and in again…fads come, if you can hold on to those things you can’t give away…people will be clamouring for them in a few years, look at the swung vases, prices have begun to drop again, except for the WOW pieces. I have two friends who have used my Grandma’s grilled cheese and waffle maker…now they are both searching madly for one each.🖤🇨🇦
PS: I have a set of twelve individual sauce/gravy boats in clear glass, so guests can apply how much they want when they want. They hold about an ounce and a quarter each, and if I’m only sitting six, everyone can have two options to choose from. They are perfect sauce boats with handle and pout spouts. No underpants, but I have some clear glass low dipping bowls that work in a pinch.🖤🇨🇦

@@Trojan4u Thank you. I do love to set a full on fancy table now and again, and the individual sauce boats are always remarked on. Nobody has to wait for the gravy to finally get to them either. I really enjoyed when a meal was a special occasion, and people weren’t in a rush to be done, but stayed to talk over some brandy or liqueur, so civilized.🖤🇨🇦
Amazing finds today! How do you categorize pottery? Is Hull considered art pottery whereas Sebring is not? Is it by decorative vs. purely functional?

Now I know the pattern name of my exact pair too. I thought they were made by LE Smith. My sister has one red and one dark blue one. Good for the 4 th of July. I found my black ones a while ago in a thrift store and put them out for Halloween month.

Scott, That Aqua Console Bowl. Is Teal or UltraMarine Swirl Pattern by Jeannette Glass. Great find. About 1 week ago i found the Slanted Swirl Ultramarine Vase like 8 inch or so By Jeannette, at a local Thrift. I like it, not sure what i am going to do with the Vase... And Hull is so sweet and defines the 1940s so much😊

The Fire King patter is Fleurette. I have a service for 12 that comes out on holidays.
When I thrift I am under the impression that if part of a set is missing that was the part that broke and the remaining was donated.
When I was growing up in the late 50s early 60s we had a ton of what I now know is pressed glass. My dad had a store in what would now be called a flea market. Across the aisle from him was a vintage dealer. I'm assuming he would pick up what i called junk and bring it home. A lot was disappeared in two moves. Sadly I was not into thrifting when my parents died. I still have a candy dish. What my brother and I kept was for sentimental reasons not because we planned on using it in our homes. That candy dish always had Hershey's Kisses in it. Now it has glass candy. Your videos always bring back good memories.

Your enamel flowers painted lidded candy dish is often lumped together with the ‘Old Cafe’ pattern (1936-40) by Anchor Hocking. I think that is not correct. That ‘Old Cafe’ line is a screwball combination of pieces, but I don’t think that was the candy dish. I don’t have depression glass reference books handy anymore. You’ll get it right though. Lots of discerning choices to be made lately. The shelves seem to be full. Good thrifting.

Why was Hull so popular in the eighties??
Oh so many examples of American art pottery were much more popular to collect in the 80's and 90's.
On tv...you picked up the corn bowl eith.lid and spoon for melted butter
my hayfever is like 10 times worse love this looking at these shops we don't have them in the uk
