Hi, Thanks for posting this great review of the Sony headphones in your collection. I was wondering why you didn't include the precursor of the 7506, the MDR 7505? I just bought a pair from an audio company in So. California, NIB who I guess picked up a lot of them and are selling on ebay for $30 bucks. (there might still be one left). I already have 3 pair of 7506s. One is in need of repair I already repaired once (one side was cutting out) and now the plug has shorted out and it isn't worth anybody's time here in Las Vegas to repair them, especially when you can pick up another used pair on eBay for around $40.00. I bought them used in 2013 and they performed well for almost 10 years. The 7505 has arrived but I haven't gone to pick them up yet so I don't know what they sound like. All I've heard about them is they have more bass boost than the 7506's. But I have always loved the true and clear sounds of the 7506. The best headphones I've ever used. I'd like to try the 900ST which are apparently still widely available in Japan but $94.00 is a little out of my price range. I'll keep my eye on it.
V6 Measures warmer. i recall it being warmer as well. www.audiosciencereview.com/forum/index.php?threads/sony-mdr-7506-review-headphone.19099/ www.audiosciencereview.com/forum/index.php?threads/sony-mdrv6-headphone-review-with-without-brainwavz-pad.51594/
I have a similar collection :). Not very interested in the v2, v4, v5 and etc. I have a v6, 2 mdr-7506, a cd900st and a v7. I liked your videos a lot! Underrated gem
Thanks! I appreciate the kind words! I also have to say that the headphones below the V5 are not really that good compared to the other models above. I seriously can't wait to continue my headphone journey and keep making reviews!
Great explanation and video. Thanks!
epic (headphone is misspelled in the title btw)
great vid

I thought that the MDR V6 had almost identical (if not the same) sound signature to the 7506

What pads do you use for the cd900sts?
Original Pads from Sony! - Or Beyerdynamic DT250 Velour Pads!
@ Thanks!
What's your favorite under $300 used or new. Sony Z7 or MDR cd 900St or another?
