Thank you Emil for this opportunity. Because the base was full of dry pigments I had a lot of trouble gluing the horror to the base. I even got some glue on his tail that I painted over later (thankfully you didn't notice). All in all it was a great experience and if you ever need me again you know where to find me;) Ps thanks for your comments on the volumes it helps me learn

In coomparison to the other's yes. But is this because the €150 guy is so expensive, or if the ~€20 guys are so cheap? I am not sure. I would suspect them to paint a few hours total on such a mini. Given that, the 150 actually seems like the price I would expect.
Yeh its overpriced, you think, thats probably 3 hours to complete, 50 dollars an hour for what is a hobby for some people, the going rate but still, not sure id pay it.

Don’t want to run into any sort of discussion nor justification but if it may help just let me share few insights: total net after freight, fees, box and French taxes is around half of that total. That’s the reason why I told Emil that even if the piece and base requested were relatively simple I would have had to apply the minimum charge that I would usually ask for a more complex 32mm and base. With that said again, I truly respect all those painters that are faster, better and able to charge much less for their artwork! Cheers!
My philosophy is that a piece is worth what the artist ask. I might not always be able to afford it but the artist spent a certain amount of hours painting a piece, they must ask what they believe their time is worth. You're a great painter, be proud of that :)
People tend to forget exacly that! Also money is not worth the same everywhere... Just think about hiring a norwegian - it would double your price prob. :D

TO be fair, people set their own price on fivver depending on their experience and availability. So sometimes you grossly overpay, or underpay depending on at what price the creators value their own time.

Every mini was great. I don't get how they can charge so little. Maybe they can do them quickly but if I was to try and paint to that standard I'd be at about €3 per hour :) Especially the €15 mini. How someone can paint for that price is insane. Great job from all the painters.
Thank you, when you favorite youtubers asks you to paint a mini for them you quickly spend more time then you planned. You can see the blends are not the smoothest. When I am time ristricted I try to focus on contrast first

You can win them in several categories etc. Some painters have like a dozen GD or more and I never even heard of them... Emils channel on the other hand gives you instant exposure and advertising to 300K interested people.

Maybe it was bad timing as the $20 one and 150€ one were almost identical and were back-to-back. Maybe there was more that we couldn't see given how close they were in opening, but, I agree I would feel deflated by the 150€ one after seeing the $20 one.
Brilliant video, love the creativity of the different painters. I'm currently painting a dwarf army for lotr w a dark/deep feel, and the blue horrors in this vid reminded me of that. Any chance u cld drop a video on how to paint in dark tones, but keeping the right volumes and highlights? Once again, love the channels and wish u all the luck in the world :)
Continuing to use a mix of these color schemes for blue horrors would look great so you have some variety in the skin tones in your army. You could mix up light and dark schemes, green and turquoise highlights, etc.
But the least expensive person is definitely undercharging. They would have put way more than that price into time. They're not making a living wage off that. While some of the others are pricing more reasonably for their labor.
I'd say the 15 Euro guy not only undercharged, but probably also deliberately did so . . . how much is exposure on Squidmar's YT channel worth in the long run?
@@heyy13 It was undercharged but it was my first offer and I was a little insecure. I am not trying to make a living off of this. It is just a little something I can do to save up for an airbrush;)

That'd be like paying Gene Winfield to paint your car and instead he just sent it to Maaco and pocketed the difference, or just sent your car back in primer.

I think your OSL was the best . It suited the colour of the flame and model very well.

Surprisingly the darker the blue horror looked, the more I liked it. But of course the Ork won the day. Such a fantastic looking result 👍🏻
