Generally, I'm not trying to touch the rope. But at the same time, I'm also trying to slip as close as I can instead of as wide as I can (which is more skillful and more practical in a fight), and then there are moments where I purposely slip right through the rope in which contact is made. The ultimate goal is developing functional slipping technique.

It's never too late! We have guys over 40 and 50 at my gym hanging in there with the young guys. It's a great exercise at any age.

Great videos man, I spent my whole night watching them all due to lack of sleep. I've been sparring with a couple of my friends (one being a golden glover) and ever since then I got this sort of rush from boxing. I've been doing drills and what not, thanks so much. Got yourself a new subscriber.

Thanks for this awesome evasion drill. I find this paired with the maize bag and double end bag are really good exercises for reflex/ body movement. I do a few jumps with my jump rope and then use it to slip under now since I've watched this and enjoying the heck out of it!

Same thing with distance, watch Mayweather Jr., you want to get as close to it as possible without touching and barely slip by it when rolling. Watch Mayweather’s pull counter and watch how close the punch gets to landing on him but he knows the distance so well that he makes them miss just by an inch and then counters making them pay.
