The number one thing that I got out of this video, is that you care about your employees! In today’s world, most companies are in it just for themselves! It’s nice to see that when things got rough, that you thought about your employees first!! Great job! Much respect!!

Dude, I love Lee. I met him in a Guthrie Govan masterclass that Andertons hosted in 2017. I took a plain from Inverness to London that day and back to Inverness the next morning to start my shift right as I came back. Lee came from his office just to meet me and say hi. He's just a great, down to earth guy. Really nice and friendly man who is passionate about all this world. I would love to have another chat with him sometime, I think he's really smart and apart from all the reviews, experiments and fun videos they do on Andertons TV, I would love to hear some of his wisdom about how the music industry is evolving, and just listen to what he thinks about being a musician in this crazy times. Great video, thanks for doing it!

Lee is a living legend. He's sold me on a fair amount of gear even though I'm in the US and have never purchased from Anderton's. What sets him apart is that he retains a healthy skepticism about gear. You don't get the sense that he's simping for all these companies. He'll say he doesn't like stuff. That combined with his likeable manner and bawdy humor gives you a sense that he's a real guy and not just some marketing team-approved "influencer". Plus they upload every day. I start my days with coffee, email, and the Anderton's video.

Anderton's TH-cam channel really hit its stride when it stopped trying to sell a product, and focused instead on selling a community. Once you're in the community, once you're looking around, once you're invested in finding the next thing, that's what drives engagement. Even if Anderton's themselves aren't always the most cost effective solution (if you're outside Europe, for example), you know the name and you know their corner of the community. The Anderton's store has managed to become a sort of pilgrimage destination for musicians around the world, and that's a hell of a feat considering every major city in most wealthy economies has at least one music store.

Part of the reason I would frequent my local musical instrument store as a teen in the mid nineties were the people who worked there, they were invested and loved what they did. For me, that same sentiment is evident in the videos that Andertons, and many other music related content creators, produce. They LOVE what they’re doing, it’s joyful, it’s playful, it’s entertaining. Keep up the great work.

I can foresee a time when people don’t like music anymore. I went through it myself. From obsessed to don’t even think about it, in fact music annoys me. Never listen to it. For about 10 years. But, strangely, I needed somewhere to invest some money and don’t understand the stock market, so decided guitars were an ok investment and then decided I better learn to play them properly. So I’m back in. But will old guitars still be worth anything when people lose interest? I concluded the same as Lee, that people will always want to explore music and so the investment should pay off. I notice lots of young brilliant musicians on TH-cam which made me decide to invest.

The fishing industry grew by 300% over the Covid lock downs. It seemed everyone and his brother took up kayak bass fishing- you couldn't even get a kayak for like a whole year. I'd go to the lake and wait in line at the ramp for over an hour just to get my boat in the water sometimes. For ppl like me who have fished our whole life- it sucked, all the sudden every fishing hole was clogged with ppl, you couldn't find the gear you needed, and all the newbies on the lake inevitably cause problems- fights. There is etiquette to fishing- just like everything else- but the newbies don't know that, and it causes fights. And I mean like real fights- one guy got shot this last summer on one of the lakes I fish. You have to remember, most of the guys out there are half drunk- they have weapons on them because it's customary around here to take a pistol with you fishing- for snakes mostly. But even the recreational boaters will usually be armed- no idea why, that's just how ppl in the south are. Most of them anyway- I don't carry anything. But yeah, you mix in a few pretty girls in bathing suits and some drunk jet skiers- you can see how things might get a little tense huh? Anyway- my point was that the music industry wasn't the only industry to grow by leaps and bounds when Covid hit.

Just watched this video. Great insight into Andertons history and future BTW. Just a thought on the recent video re - Victory Amps. You should snip part 17.00 - 19.30 minutes in. This in my opinion helps answer your view on advertising products on TH-cam. Yes you may have or should have disclosed your interest in Victory Amp your call TBH. I suppose ultimately folk will make up their own mind when buying gear. Only my opinion Cheers

Seems academic to add a comment. I actually didn't realize that Anderson's were such a small local outlet.
I have purchased from them serval l times but thought that I was buying from a multi national conglomerate.
Lovely to find that behind the intrnet facade there is a family company..
When I'm buying guitars I hope that I am not proping up some horrible regime in China or Indonesia .
I thought that buying from Anderson's that I was buying from the musical equivalent of Halfords.
So good to know that it is so much more family centered.
Something you should push more in your marketing. Musicians don't easily relate to corporations.

Great interview, I've been watching Lee and Pete videos for a couple of years and always enjoy them. Going back and watching the older ones with Rob are hilarious. I really enjoyed the one where Lee interviewed his dad.

Yes, I always say that I love the way Lee tells it like it is - without sugarcoating. If there are things he doesn’t like about a product or even doesn’t like the product as a whole, he says it. And he is so composed and articulate.

WOW!!! Awesome interview and video. I've been watching Lee and Chapman for 5 years or so. I LOVE YOU LEE! What an awesome story, plus it was so pure, and honest.

I'm pretty sure we all love Andertons because Lee comes across as a genuinely lovely human being, and that goes a long way. Great interview, thank you 👍
