WBSC Men's Softball Highlights: 2019 World Championship Singapore v The Philippines

This inter-continental game came down to extra innings. Singapore's starter Aloysius Ong threw 6.0 innings, striking out 9, before handing the ball to Watson Tan who took down an additional 4 over the last 3.0 innings. Leo Barredo pitched a complete game for the Philippines striking out 12 on his own.You can practically do a side-by-side comparisons of just how well-matched these opponents were during the final few plays of each of their 9th innings of work. Each is a good reminder to pitchers how important fielding is to their job.

Softball is no more a girl's sport than baseball is a boy's sport. They are two separate games with very different sets of rules and equipment including ball size and type of bat, how the ball is pitched, length of the base paths and type of field. That is why there are men's and women's teams, in each sport, all around the world who compete on an international level.
