I stopped buying creed because of ideology. Making your product worse while bringing the price higher is a statement. A statement that says F you, we are the kings and you will buy what ever we give you and thank us for that. O Really? Ok, lets see :)
If it was not for clones, specifically Perfume Parlour, I would never have purchased so many authentic bottles. They are a fantastic way to try before you buy.
if you like silver mountain water, get Armaf Sillage EDP. but you WILL need to macerate armaf sillage edp if you get it. it helps get rid of the overly headache-inducing citrus scent and it makes sillage a masterpiece
I bought mine in the fall of 22 and to my nose, its finally smelling good off the rip like this fruity inky honey instead of a stainless steel room full of sterilized stainless steel everything.
I don't think Creed has anything to do with the rise of clones. I remember buying clones from independent perfumers similar to Perfume parlour 30 years ago. The thing is that today the quality of the clones is immensely higher compared to the old days. Honestly I, as a buyer can only appreciate buying something smelling nice for less and I don't care if and what it is cloning. That's especially valid when designer and niche brand prices are ridiculous. It's just a liquid that's evaporating within a few hours. P. S. I still fondly remember the time I was buying ADG edt 100ml for 25 EUR
Thanks! So, firstly, Absolu Aventus is fantastic. It's a LOVE for me. Secondly, while the newer Aventus batches are certainly different than the pre-reform, they are still plenty strong. It's typically knuckleheads going anosmic. They can't smell it, but others are smelling it in the next ZIP Code.
Hey Chris I have an Aventus bottle from late 22 and mine lasts for 8hrs and that same can be said about SMW and Aventus Cologne from 22/23. Thats just my 2 scents on the subject. Good review mate👍
@@Forzieee lol its there but it depends on the temperature too. If its between 16 to 22 degrees, it will last but after the 5hr mark its more closer to the body. But goes for 8hrs and stays with me. Hope this make sense 😊.
Dua has a great dupe called Poseidons Absolu Elixer. It’s an extrait, and it actually lasts longer and is stronger than the Creed. Comparing it to my 5ml decant. I think i paid $40 for it.
It’s bang on. IDENTICAL scent but stronger. The most faithful reproduction of a Creed fragrance I’ve smelled (to include Armaf Milestone, which is amazingly close to its target). I got the 50mL extrait de parfum and it’s EXCELLENT. Thanks for bringing this one! Note: if you’re a U.S. customer, you’ll need to fill out TSCA forms before customs will release the shipment.
I got a tester from Creed Lady in House of Fraser, she was desperate for a sale but I wasn't splashing out +£300 without testing. I thought it was OK,dry down was Aventus but why pay £100 more to smell the same !
I’ve had 4 bottles of Aventus over the years First 2 wonderful second 2 not great at all. First 2 were fruity woody smokey rich and deep. Second 2 complete opposite. Will give perfume parlour a try when in stock Cheers Chris Another entertaining vid 👍
I habe a sample of Creed Absolut Aventus and it was the biggest fragrance disappointment ever to me. Not that its bad I have so many comparable scents, its just a mid fragrance for a high price.
Just a thought, agree with everything you said. But as you alluded to, the "Big houses" clone each other for big profits. So who is truly the thief if a company formulates an inspiration or clone for $25-$60 as opposed to $200-$500?
i recently got a aventus it is f batch the newest batch i cant tell you it last 10 to 12 hours with out over spraying,5 sprays max two of them were on my shirt and even after washing it it still smelled with moderates siege.
I totally agree, out of all my Aventus clones this one from perfume Parlour is the best it's stunning - and now it's currently out of stock (even the 50ml Extrait gone aswell), wish I'd bought a larger bottle than the 13ml I own, hope it lasts until PP are restocked with this one!
I was one of the mugs that paid full retail for absolu aventus. Although a great fragrance, not worth the money, and I always knew it would be 6 months then the clone houses would produce. Off your review Chris, I’m going to have to purchase when this comes back into stock so I can save my Absolu for special occasions 🤞🏼👌
I love Absolu Aventus. Got mine from a discounter in November. Still pricey, but I'm glad I got it. My wife also absolutely love it. Mine lasts all day, projects well, and nice sillage. BTW, there are many companies in that price range as well. Quite a few Roja fragrances way more expensive and for 50ml.
I have the extrait of PP avalanche absolu and Creeds OG and I must say that the PP version is amazing for the price, there is a difference between them but so far so good..My Creed OG is a decant so Im using sparingly and just rocking PP version daily which I am loving..
I first ordered the Avalanche Absolu and I was super impressed! It was extremely similar the the real sample I had of Absolu Aventus, sometimes I could barely notice a difference. As my other favourite creed is virgin island water, I decided to also order blue waters. This one I'm a little disappointed on, I get the similarity in the immediate opening but after that it smells completely off, not much coconut and some harsh citruses. It doesn't seem to have any bright/airy/refreshing quality to it and drys down to more floral notes instead of the sweet sugarcane. Such a shame because I was hoping to try some more from Perfume Parlour. Does anyone know any other decent Virgin Island Water clones? Cheers
The only problem with clones, especially really good ones, is there could become a time where the big houses just stop trying to create higher quality or innovative new scents, if not down right put a few out of business. Then there is nothing new worth cloning. For what it's worth, I use some and I'm thankful for some of the better clones of higher end luxury scents.
I also have this and really like it, I have the extract version so might differ a bit from the edp. I actually wore it to the gym too 😂. I think clones actually do the fragrance community a good deed, they are like the gateway drug into the rabbit hole of fragrances and I've also bought a few originals off the back of some clones. I also discovered the legend that is ATH off the back of clones and your channel.
Just waiting for my 50ml extrait .. can’t wait. I guess one issue to consider with the popularity of clone houses is it could take away the development funding by taking away the sales of the perfume houses.. but £320 honestly! And hypocritically since finding PP I’ve not bought a full priced fragrance either lol 😮 Brilliant channel by the way keep it up
I would love to ..PP contacted me on the day of posting saying it was out of stock 😡 not happy I must admit it was showing in stock every day when I was watching then surprise surprise ‘we’re out of stock 😢
I'm still fairly new to the fragrance game, but I have had the opportunity to purchase several sample packs from different fragrance houses, and it is more common than not that at least one of the fragrances smells exactly like, or at least very close to Aventus. It's always funny to be smelling through an sample set and then thinking to myself, oh, that's their take on Aventus 🙂 love your work, and thank you as always for your information 🙂.
I tested Aventus on my skin in the reputable store couple of weeks ago, and it smelled so much weaker than CDNI, but what shocked me the most is that it was literally GONE from my skin in 2-3 hours. Like - gone. On the other hand, Hacivat was so long lasting, I couldn't wash it out. P.S. Even if they were priced the same, I would choose CDNI over Aventus last batch every time.
Got my first order of Perfume Parlor, and Avalanche Absolu Extrait was in the bunch.... Man, it really smells amazing, and probably the closest to the OG I've come across.
Try out the brand “My Signature Aroma” based in London Brixton, they have their take on Absolu Aventus and the new Carmina, must say getting 16 hours plus from the two i purchased….highly recommend
I’ve just got avalanche absolu and the opening smell was awful, even worse than CDNIM. It was almost rotten smelling and burnt my nose. After 10 mins it smells great. Maybe it just needs a week or 2 to macerate
I own a 2021 Aventus and I think it's great and it's pretty potent, tho I've never tried the previous patches idk sensitive nose perhaps. However not buying another bottle because Montblanc does the same for me personally with a much smaller price tag. Sorry Creed.
Have you tried or smelled Insidious by insider parfums? Apparently it the great creed aventus you can buy like the 2011 batch? If anyone has tried it or got please let me know
It costs 320 euros in europe, plus you get a 10 percent discount with signing up for the creed newsletter. So that's 288 euros which is 245 pounds. I also got a creed silk scarf and an official aventus and aventus absolu sample gift with it. I should be able to sell the gifts for at least 50 pounds, so there we go 195 pounds from the official shop. What is 195 pounds? For some people that's what they blow on alcohol and cigarettes in a month.
Me and 90% of frag-heads said "That price is Ludicrous!" and "There will be a clone within 6 months and Absolu Aventus will be irrelevant". The retail prices here has gone from 550 Euro, and now it's 350 Euro. So for the people who bought the hype. Creed is making fools out of you, and you should remember that for next time. And, now comes the clones. R.I.P Absolu Aventus?...
As for the thoughts on cloning.. there's a lot. And I mean a lot of bad clones out there. If a brand can get it right and make it cheap, I'm okay with it. Creed really has done this to themselves. As much as I love Louis Vuitton fragrances, I feel like they are next (it's already begun with Immortal, Sunrise on the red sand dunes among others). The pricing is outrageous and consumers will be looking for alternatives. When you price your products that high, it logistically makes room for that clone market.
WOW! I loved aventus absolu but I could never justify spending that amount of money let alone just for 75ml, this clone version will be a great purchase once it is back in stock!
Aventus is always a mixed bag for me. I think the smell is unique, high quality, and it has good performance, certainly much better than most people say. But for that kind of money, I expect great performance. It definitely feels like they are trying to get one over on you while looking you directly in the eye. That's a big turn off. But maybe some day I'll impulse buy a bottle?
Duas clone posidons absolu elixir is fantastic in my opinion and the absolu savage elixir is banging to, the casino version is good aswell but can't wait for a month or so when they macerate .I bought perfume parlours lidge clone and put me of all their stuff, was appalling.
I'm gonna have to disagree with you on this. Owning both the real and the PP version, the PP version is nowhere near as bright and in the dry down it is lacking some other the top notes. I'd say it's about 85-90% there for me. That being said, I have the exact one as you mate and not their extrait.
Creed are ruining everything. I just wait for the new armaf which gives me everything I want - price/sillage/longevity and strength. The unknown batch qualities was enough to put you off. Supposedly the new one is fine but i have 2021 and its weak. I had a 2016 one too and I regret being so thrifty spraying it. However creed dropping the size to 75ml is the final nail on the coffin. That’s just complete corporate greed from the hedge fund owners.
Aventus is a great fragrance my 1st bottle was 2016 and it was amazing my 2ndnbottle was a 2020 and performance was horrible until recently but my friends 2022 batch was solid
Well I've been disgusted with absolu because creed kept hyping the limited edition part ..I purchased from Creed for I believe $550usd where now its flooded the discounters for $350 or less.. I did get the new Milliseme 1849 as well..
I don’t think Creed is a weak fragrance but it sits close to the skin. I have Aventus and I’m still keen on buying Vertiver but I know it will be just me enjoying it and it will come with no compliments at all. The price is ridiculous. It should be no more in price than the PDM range
I have Aventus, Aventus Cologne & Royal Oud. Creed has great fragrances and they are indeed pricey for the average person. I can get over that. What I cant get over however, is paying that much for a fragrance that doesnt have ‘good’ performance.
performance and reformulation subjects are the two things I stay away from when informing about scents. It's just some mix mash of unproven statements.
So my personal experience with Aventus and all the better clones is that the DNA itself carries with it two major problems: 1. You (as in: I) go noseblind to the scent really fast. 2. The good juice has to mature a bit in the bottle after the initial dozen sprays to reach peak quality. The more synthetic the clone, the less that seems to be required. But since you go noseblind either way, it is hard to put blame on synthetics. I use that word very liberaly, I do not know enough about how "naturals" vs "synthetics" compounds affect the olfactory experience in that regard, I am just making asumptions.
I def would not say the problem is that creed is just raising prices. With normal Aventus they have the three strikes. 1. The smell is worse and worse ofter the years. 2. the perfomance in longevity and projection has become increasingly worse with every update. Third the prices just kept rising. You could make an argument for sure if it was not for creed being offenders in all those areas like it just had increased prices then it wouldn't be so much of a big problem. Thus clones open the door hopefully to have something that can make old better versions of the scent that you can not get otherwise basically. Have you tried the other clones of Absolu Like Alexandria's or Parfums Vintage etc?
I’ve got a 2 year old bottle that has gotten me compliments 10 hours after spraying. On principle, I do not give my money to clone houses. People call Creed “greedy”, but I would argue that the real greed is clone houses that steal their art and hard work. They create nothing, risk nothing, market nothing.
I bought himalaya recently. I had a 2027 bottle and then went onto a brand new one. It now smells like a sour millisime imperial and has no projection at all. All that’s left is the musky creed smell
Creed is a house I'd never put my money into. When you have Roja,Aqua Di Parma,Floris,Guerlian there prestige becomes glaringly false. The quality too isn't consistent which is the key problem especially when prices are so exorbitant.
I like several creed fragrances but don't think they really care whether we think they are expensive or not. They seem to want to cater to the Kings and wealthy and famous. What peeves me more than just a ridiculously high priced fragrance is others which are high priced but are only available in 50 ml atomizers, which gives me the feeling it is half used up on arrival. Considering their are other excellent quality fragrances which are more reasonably priced and are available at 100 + ml I don't think I will be buying to many over priced frags regardless of how amazing they are. I wasn't planning on attending any balls in the near future anyhow.
@@nkz1091 damn that’s insane, I have had a bad time with clones lasting like 2 hours. Ima have to buy this as soon as it’s in stock. Did you buy the edp or extrait?
This one is so good that I prefer it to the original. simply stronger and more powerful in its charisma. a little more edges but also sexier. The OG should be like this one. Buy and Tell me how nice it is!!!
Collectors know when brands raises their prices just because of the hype. A reason which cannot justify the high prices. One of the reasons why in my whole collection of a little more than 300 I only have one Creed, and it is not Aventus.
I disagree with the aventus clones not having good performance. Personally, I've had great performance and reception to armaf club de nuit intense man limited edition parfum. I've tried the cdnim edt and apart from the super harsh opening, both that edt and the limited edition parfum have lasted over 8 hours. Again this is on my skin.
Its disappointing from creed. Brought a bottle of aventus in 2021 Was really week and nothing like the bottle i purchased in 2015. Its the same with GIT and silver mountain. A shadow of what they once were. Back in the day the scent would project and last for hours. Would pay creed prices for old school creed performace. Have the PP absolou its my new favorite
It’s ironic because most fragrances, including expensive niche fragrances, have $5-$10 worth of ingredients inside. We buy them anyway if we love the scent. But I’m under no impression that the margins are thin for these houses.
Really? Would you have anything to back that claim? I'm actually quite curious and interested to know. I believe the alcohol alone (which usually makes up to 90% of the fragrance) is pricier than that but I could be wrong. The essential oils are also notoriously expensive (we're talking dozens of dollars for a single milliliter), but can't speak for the aromachemicals. $5-10 sounds cruelly low
@@sofianhanifeh4602 a perfume said it, I don’t recall the video bit I recall the anecdote. Sure it’s expensive, especially if you’re making a small batch, but they buy in bulk. I also wasn’t talking about the alcohol but that’s also pretty cheap if you buy a huge amount.
I bought Aventus Absolu 30% off on pre order from duty free so still £230 or £3 per ml. The fragrance is great tho not long lasting on me. I’m also finding that Creed’s pricing strategy leaves a bad smell so I’m finding that I hardly ever wear it. It sits like a guilty purchase on my shelf. On that duty free trip I also bought Le Lion and Sycamore from the Chanel Exclusifs, less than half the price of Aventus Absolu at a mere £1.40 per ml for premium Chanel. Sycamore is slowly taking over from Platinum Egoiste as my signature. It’s gorgeous. Le Lion is outstanding. I feel like I am celebrating the best of myself when I wear Sycamore or Le Lion. When I wear the Aventus Absolu or even think about it, it’s more like I’m f***ing myself in the *ss.
Sold out already. Bet they can't make it quick enough. There will always be people that buy Creed purely because it costs so much. They would probably pay double. The rest of us with sense, they've lost us all. Classic Hedge Fund scorched earth technique.
Chris it's really simple - the more perfume houses keep raising their prices to absolutely greedy and ridiculous levels, the more dupe houses are going to cash in. How many people realistically in this day and age can afford to fork out £300+ on a fragrance? And sorry paying top dollar does not guarantee top quality - in a lot of cases you're paying for exclusivity gained through cost. So yes happily will continue to buy good quality dupes!
I know it’s unrealistic to think ethics and business should align so I understand it’s all about ROI and maximizing coins n so forth but Creeds historical lack of ethics is why I wouldn’t spend a coin on shit from them. They’re experiencing the chickens coming home to roost
The problem with creed is the reformulation BS. I don't know what I smelled a few months ago when I bought a 1ML sample of it. Was it a 2010 decant? a 2020 decant? a 2022 decant? Wait, the weaker crappier 2022 decant costs $300? Who are the idiots paying for an inferior formulation? Stop giving the brand money and let it die. Refomulations that are weaker should be criminal not the clones that give you something closer to the original recipe. Theres a reason why we're not drinking new coke. Time to tell creed you don't want new coke.
It's funny when you complain to creed about the quality and longevity, they blame it on the recent extreme weather during last summer etc creating problems with their ingredients 🤣🤦♂️
I have to say, you believe people too easy you know. your friend can actually using Club the Nuit parfum and he just pretend to use the Aventus just for show off. That the most case of people are using Aventus or it clone now, mostly people are using Aventus clone as the real Aventus now are weak af, I have a bottle of Aventus I bought at the airport and last like 4-5 hours but very weak projection, meanwhile a Club the nuit pafum can last even more than 9-10 hours easily so we can understand why more people are using Aventus clone these days
I stopped buying creed because of ideology. Making your product worse while bringing the price higher is a statement. A statement that says F you, we are the kings and you will buy what ever we give you and thank us for that. O Really? Ok, lets see :)
💯 😎

Have you purchased the pure 100ml fragrance compound of anything? I mean not fragrance oil, the 100% fragrance compound on their site
Just ordered some first time using perfume parlour aswell so it best be very nice 😀😎
Mine arrived today, smells more like nishane hacivat. Almost think they havr sent the wrong fragrance.
I have Aventus, Aventus Cologne & Royal Oud. Creed has great fragrances and they are indeed pricey for the average person. I can get over that. What I cant get over however, is paying that much for a fragrance that doesnt have ‘good’ performance.
I recently had a sample of the "real" Aventus and ambergris wasn't listed as a note, but ambroxan was...
performance and reformulation subjects are the two things I stay away from when informing about scents.
Don’t you stock ATH on your website?
I’ve got a 2 year old bottle that has gotten me compliments 10 hours after spraying.
On principle, I do not give my money to clone houses. People call Creed “greedy”, but I would argue that the real greed is clone houses that steal their art and hard work. They create nothing, risk nothing, market nothing.
They charge $545 in the US. That $7.27 per ml
I bought himalaya recently. I had a 2027 bottle and then went onto a brand new one. It now smells like a sour millisime imperial and has no projection at all. All that’s left is the musky creed smell
Wait, you went to the future?!
@@FRAGMENTAL haha 2017 smart arse😂
If you only had money for one: Avalanche Absolu or Montblanc Explorer EDP?
Ahhh music to my ears, I bought this without smelling the original and absolutely loved it glad it smells close to the original
How is the longevity?
10+ hours easily, smells great worth a buy!
@@nkz1091 damn that’s insane, I have had a bad time with clones lasting like 2 hours. Ima have to buy this as soon as it’s in stock. Did you buy the edp or extrait?
I got the EDP but I’d go for the extrait version I’m gonna do the same when it’s in stock
@@nkz1091 sounds good
Bought the extrait Version. Nearly 97% the same and much more longevity and sillage. Really nice 😅
Im considering buying the extrait version. Has your opinion changed, is the extrait still 97% the same? is the quality up there with creed? thanks
This one is so good that I prefer it to the original. simply stronger and more powerful in its charisma. a little more edges but also sexier. The OG should be like this one.
Buy and Tell me how nice it is!!!
Tested 3 in a year. F000387, F000558, F001320. All smell the same, the same performance 🤷♂️
I am a niche lover but I won’t waste my money on Creed anymore. I bought a couple bottles in the past but I really can’t stand the performance.
They help me too try new frags before I buy
Collectors know when brands raises their prices just because of the hype. A reason which cannot justify the high prices. One of the reasons why in my whole collection of a little more than 300 I only have one Creed, and it is not Aventus.
I disagree with the aventus clones not having good performance. Personally, I've had great performance and reception to armaf club de nuit intense man limited edition parfum. I've tried the cdnim edt and apart from the super harsh opening, both that edt and the limited edition parfum have lasted over 8 hours. Again this is on my skin.
I too have had good performance from the clones. Unfortunately they didn’t do it for Rob.
I'm sure I saw you the other day on an old episode of Coronation Street from 2004? Absolu Aventus is very expensive for a meh kind of fragrance.
Avalanch Absolut is incredible
Its disappointing from creed. Brought a bottle of aventus in 2021 Was really week and nothing like the bottle i purchased in 2015. Its the same with GIT and silver mountain. A shadow of what they once were. Back in the day the scent would project and last for hours. Would pay creed prices for old school creed performace.
Have the PP absolou its my new favorite
They’ve done such a good job with it!
@FRAGMENTAL really good job. Another great review, you've done a really fantastic job accurately describing and comparing the PP scent 👍
Generally, i'm against cloning. But for Absolu Aventus, they did it to themselves... I'm actually happy to see this.
I bought a bottle of Aventus in 2022 and I get 4 hours of longevity if even. That’s just pathetic. Great scent but way too weak
Out of curiosity, was one of your mate’s clone’s Insidious??
No, Insidious wasn’t released at the time I was giving him recommendations.
@@FRAGMENTAL so the million dollar question is would you say Insidious is a better option than Avalanche or not ??? 😏
Creed is great but the pricing 👎🏻
absolu aventus is $545 at retail in the US 😂
If someone can make a fragrance of a similar quality for 1/10 of the price, your fragrance deserves to be cloned.
Great video and I enjoyed it and I'm going to try it and have a blessed day
Smell of the day :Watching this as I’m wearing allsaints sunset riot ……the inspiration is this dark dull day 😂
I know it’s unrealistic to think ethics and business should align so I understand it’s all about ROI and maximizing coins n so forth but Creeds historical lack of ethics is why I wouldn’t spend a coin on shit from them. They’re experiencing the chickens coming home to roost
Has smoulder 2.0 been cancelled?
No. Incoming later this year.
@@FRAGMENTAL thank you for answering me finally 😂 I was scared it got cancelled!
Creed needs to empower their smells
Got me all hyped and it's entirely sold out lol
It will be back soon I’m sure!
@@FRAGMENTAL oh I signed up for the restock updates for sure! Thanks for the recommendation!
That could be a mortgage or rent for some individuals, that's all I'm saying...
What season would you say this would suit they have sold out so
Cant get
My nose on it yet 😂
All seasons for sure
Creed lost my trust the day “The Ghost perfumer” book came out.
If you tried Montblanc Explorer you never need Creed Aventus NO more!
