The DOF Adapter MK3 is based on a Canon EF mount, and it is compatible with many full-frame lenses. To ensure compatibility and the best results, it is important to verify that your lenses meet the following criteria:
1) Full-frame: The DOF Adapter MK3 is specifically designed for full-frame lenses. Utilizing a full-frame focusing screen provides optimal performance and compatibility across a wide range of lenses. Using crop sensor lenses with the DOF Adapter MK3 is not recommended, as this will result in severe vignetting.
2) Canon EF Mount: The DOF Adapter MK3 employs a Canon EF Mount, enabling compatibility with Canon EF lenses and a diverse selection of other brands and mounts. These include Nikon F-mount, PL-mount, Pentax K-mount, M42, and Olympus OM-mount (with an additional adapter ring).
3) Manual focus control and open aperture: The crucial aspect of the DOF Adapter MK3 is the ability to manually control focus and achieve a shallow depth of field. As the DOF Adapter MK3 operates purely mechanically, your lens must have a manual mechanical focus control. Lenses such as the Canon STM series, which rely on electronic connections to the camera body for focusing, are NOT compatible with the DOF Adapter MK3. Lenses that offer manual aperture control must be set to their widest aperture to achieve the shallowest depth of field. Canon EF lenses, which lack a manual aperture control ring, generally have their aperture wide open by default and are also compatible with the DOF Adapter MK2.
4) Fast lenses: We recommend using fast SLR/DSLR lenses with aperture values ranging from f/1.2 to f/2.8 for optimal results. Generally, the faster the lens, the better the performance you can expect from the DOF Adapter MK3.

Very few videos and samples about 0.75 lens. If i write Moment i find tousands of videos, samples, tests, comparisions, about beastgrip 0.75x almost nothing. I am sorry because looks to be something professional but lack of reviews. I am not from USA so, the desicion of what i buy is crucial because is a problem even how to order out of Europe.

Hello. I am using my beastgrip DOF Mk3 device with my iphone 14PRO MAX with a Canon EF 50mm 1.2L and it appears a little light or croping in both sides when I make any Panning movement. ¿Could you please help me to fix that?

Wouldnt it be way better to make it a L-mount or E-mount so the flange distance is as small as possible or is it a limit to get the light in focus by the distance to internal camera optics? Cause the other mounts can be easily adapted to EF and others, so much more lens compatibility overal

I know you show this with video but wouldn’t this be a great set up for still portrait work? Seems like you would get better DOF results than with smaller add telephoto lenses. I do have some older EF lenses that I could use this with.

I have that same tripod rig MVH502AH Used in the video setup chapter (Time 2:56 and on). @beastgrip if I mount my full frame Canon Zoom Lens EF 75-300mm 1:4-5.6 (to film surfing/far away subjects) to the the Beastgrip DOF Adapter MK3 to the Beastcage for iPhone 15 Pro Max will the cage hold the weight or will it not hold this weight securely?

We suggest to mount your lens to the tripod, so the cage and dof adapter will be held by the lens. Also, f5.6 will produce noticeable texture and vignetting, we do not recommend using lenses slower than f2.8

You can put a ring adapter to ef mount, in front of the dof. I do it with on my dof 2, with m42 ring adapter, to put vintage Porst zoom lens, or with nikon. No reason it could not works with sony full frame lens.

First
