    This is really cool to see 15 amps. It could definitely be an electric brewery controller. Instantly you could take a pretty old school electric system. With this make it more advanced than many systems currently available. 🤯

      Thanks Bradley. All the temp controllers that we sell in USA are 15amp actually but these are new to Australia.

    It’d be great to see a standalone RAPT based controller for those of us who have DIY’d an electric kettle already that is capable of up to 20 amps for the U.S. market.

    • @KegLand
      @KegLand  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes that is a good point. We do have a 15amp model already. Do many people in America have the 20amp outlets. Isn't it easier to use the 10 or 15amp and then go to the 220V rather than the 20amp?

      @@KegLand microwave outlets are normally on dedicated 20 amp outlets. There are normally also 1-2 more 20 amp outlets available. Also to clarify I was looking for a 20 amp PID brew house controller with RAPT capabilities.
      Edit: I wasn’t aware this controller used PID. Guessed I missed that part of the video.

    Can this be used in a 65L digiboil during distillation to shut things down once the alcoengine rises by the 1°c?

    Do they come to Europe any time soon? I like my Gen 4 so much I would like to convert my prehistoric broken Braumeister to a modern electric brewery just for fun. There is more work needed than replacing the controller but that's the challenge (and the fun).

    No 15 Amp 230 VAC EU models sadly.

    If you simply wanted to use this to power a 3600w element for a HERMS system, is the interface and controls easy enough to use during a brew day? I get that this is designed moreso for fermentation control, but am very interested in a simple 15A compatible PID to use for the brewhouse control.
    I wonder if a software update would allow you to use the "heating" plug output to control a pump. Will then become an all-in-one unit, similar to a Grainfather controller.

      You can devinitely use this as a brewhouse controller and we have made it so you can use brewing profiles and upload to this device so there is no reason why you can't make this work with a brewery.
      We have been considering more options so we can get independent control of the outputs as you have suggested. we will probably come up with something in the future to allow this to happen.

    We want a 12v "fan" output on this product!

    • @KegLand
      @KegLand  ปีที่แล้ว

      We will look into this. What are you using the fan for? Do you want the fan to come on with a timer or with the cooling or heating?

      @@KegLand the 12v output is my request so that when controlling a fermentation chamber or kegerator (with the 10amp version of this) you wouldn't need to also have a separate power outlet and power adapter for air circulation.... its just a far neater all in one solution. If the 12v output is programmable - well i am not sure what the extra benefits are but im sure someone can think of something

    i have a question, ive tried to find on the RAPT pill page of the website, what temperature can the pill safely go upto? due to it having a lithium ion battery, what im trying to work out is if i can put a pill in the kegmenter while distillation and gather the data from the Alcohol % dropping to a certain point plus following water temp in the boiler.

    • @KegLand
      @KegLand  ปีที่แล้ว

      This is not a good idea. The lithium ion battery is only designed for 50C

    Hej Ken!!
    I have a brewery in Denmark, and im thinking about buying the rapt fermentation controller and 2 pills. My question is, i have to kegmenter stainless steal unitanks 58L placed in a deep freezer. i have trouble connecting my TILT hydrometer to my phone, even tho i have a phone in the freezer. It works with a newer phone but not an older phone (bad bluetooth i guess)
    So im thinking. Can the pill if it is in the kegmenter unitank, and the unitank is in a freezer, and the rapt tempereture controller is outside the freezer. Will it be able to connect, because i have to connect the freezer to the cooling side, and the heathing element in the freezer to the heating side if the rapt controller, outside the freezer.
    And this would be the dream if it works. But i dont wanna spend all that cash on something that dosnt work :p
    And no brewshops in denmark will give me any garantee that it works xD

    • @KegLand
      @KegLand  ปีที่แล้ว

      We have tried using the pill in the kegmenter inside the fridge and the bluetooth can get out of this to a temp controller or rapt chamber. So you will probably be fine but it's difficult to say for sure without giving it a go.

    So could I use this to run and control twin 2200w elements?

    • @KegLand
      @KegLand  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You would not be able to run 2 x 2200watt devices as it would exceed the inlet 15amp rating. It would have to be max 3600 watts.

      Cheers for commenting, figured it out already. I'm now running each element separately & each on a kegland controller! My Keg Still is a beast. I'm still very new at all this and learning as much as I can on the way.

    Is there a way to control the power output of a device? Eg using the 65l Digiboil as a brew kettle, lowering the power of the elements once boil is reached to maintain it? I’ve got the 10Amp version but can’t see this as an option in the firmware. Cheers

      Variac

    • @KegLand
      @KegLand  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes the variac will work as long as you do not go below about 40% power. If you go too low the variac will not be enough to power the control module and it will just turn off completely.
