It is called subverting expectations. A comedy trick. One has to have really good timing with it though to do it over and over and make it work and be funny. So yeah, he is really good.

White father, black mother, grew up in a black township that speaks multiple languages, went to a school that had white students and teachers and worked in television/radio. He can have a fruitful conversation with any kind of South African.
